I have to agree. We went out and got these players and it wasn’t like we waited. We even turned down other, better, and even cheaper fits. the bad roster isn’t an excuse I’m willing to let them slide on

This is just a crazy discussion in a season where Denver nabbed Sean Payton. id argue keeping these guys around too long is more problematic because it makes you less desirable for free agents. compound that with talent drain we’re already seeing with bad drafting, why wouldn’t you move on?

Were we turned down jobs because we weren’t giving coaches a chance? Or because we had a bad roster with a bad GM? Jacksonville had no issue getting Pederson. the giants had no issue getting judge, daboll or Schurmer. the raiders have gotten a new coach every year or two for a decade. same for the browns since 09. the cardinals after Wilks I could go on further, but I think the point is clear. There are an extremely limited number of head coaching jobs in the NFL and as a result you will always be able to fill those jobs. and it’s not limited to just the NFl. Just look at Chelsea FC. They’ve kept managers on extremely short leaches, but have been able to find both success and a consistent supply of top tier managers despite firing guys with a season or less on the books.

Why do we keep pushing this myth?
