He'd have the same amount of time being the backup to Darnold. But all of these arguments operate under the assumption that Mayfield is going to be bad. If you think he's going to be bad then there's no reason to like the trade. If you don't think he's going to be bad then you wasted a pick on Corral

I think Baker will do well here. He shaved his contract so he's probably got a gentlemans agreement that if he does well this season we will give him the big bag.

We've already traded for a QB this year. I do not support trading for another. No way.

He's unquestionably an upgrade over what we have now. If he becomes available via CA we'd be crazy not to look at it.

Outside of injury I don't see a scenario where Sam isn't the starter.

We said the same thing about Sam last year and then they picked up his 5th. Panthers probably sign baker and extend him if history is the marker.
