Wait. We're fans of a pro football team posting to a message board on the internet. Has productivity somehow become part of our expectation? I thought the training manual said we were only required to voice opinions loudly and belligerently. I might need a transfer.

We don't pay his wife, so I'm fine with her sucking at talent evaluation. It would be nice if her husband was at least measurably better however.

Tell us grandpa, what did the Sphinx look like when it was new and still had it's nose?

Update: Sam Darnold is still not the QB you want to see under center for your team. More on this as developments warrant.

McDonald's has other stuff now? I mean I've always heard rumors they serve ice cream, but any time I've ever asked for any "the machine is down" Only thing edible there is the fries, and those just barely, if done right.

I'm pretty sure none of 4Corners old gf's are playing DT for the Panthers.

350 lb DT with dance moves and tons of energy? Yes please. Easy to pull for guys like this.

I tried saying this out loud to see if it sounded as weird as it felt to read. My tongue tried to leap out of my mouth and start a new religion based on the improbable becoming true. The Bills are stacked with pass catchers. The Big 10 and Big 12 both have 14 members The combined head coaching experience of Duke and Carolina's basketball coaches is exactly one season. We live in strange times.

This makes me feel that either the OP or me doesn't understand venn diagrams.

He disagreed with me about something when I first started posting literally years ago and he still regularly poos my posts for no reason other than emotionally he's a 4 year old. I used to find it funny, like "oh look, the kid who eats paint chips is at it again", but now it just feels kinda sad. -

I also think this would be a good way to have Tom Brady murdered with no admissable evidence pointing back at us. Great idea, but let's make it just the Gatorade to be safe. -
I'm sorry, I'm from the huddle. Ya lost me at accountability.

Official Panthers at Patriots Gameday Thread!

I'll take that action. I'll put up every dumb thing 4Corners has ever said on the huddle. Oh you don't have enough storage space for that? Yeah neither does the federal government. Okay how about just every dumb thing he's said in the last year? You're not willing to rent out that many storage units? Fine, every dumb thing he's said in the last month. Let me go rent the biggest truck they've got at Uhaul. Now what are you putting up? No I don't want your nude pictures of Ernest Borgnine. Gross. -
Best idea I've heard in a long time to make preseason football interesting. Let's do it! *Breaks out the Jefferson's Ocean*

Oh poo I missed that! That's hilarious! What I love about Smitty is he not only has great knowledge of the game, he's not gonna mince words. He's gonna tell you what he thinks. Broadcast football is by definition entertainment, and Smitty is easily the most entertaining option we've ever had doing color commentary. I agree that some of his comments can be awkward at times, but overall still miles better than the vast majority of color commentators and I'm excited to see how he grows into that role over time. Here's hoping he's our color guy for years and years to come.

Here's what I wonder about contracts like this: Do vets in the locker room quietly resent a contract like Thomas's? With the salary cap, the pot of money for all players to be paid out of is set. Every dollar your teammate gets is a dollar that can't go to you. Now the pot is big enough that if you believe that guy helps your team win, you don't begrudge him his money, because if you're in the NFL at all, you're hypercompetitive and you want to win. But what about contracts that clearly overpay players who haven't produced anything of value? I'd love to hear what some modestly paid long time vets like say Brandon Zylstra think about Thomas's contract. Heck we all know Chinn is gonna get paid when it's time, but right now Thomas makes more than Chinn does. Why? Don't tell me Thomas earned it. His numbers during his rookie contract were nothing special and more importantly, there is not a single statistical category that shows growth over the course of his four years. His best year was his rookie year and despite playing in every game since being drafted, his total catches and yards over his next two years matched and declined respectively his totals from his rookie year alone, while his avg yards per catch declined each year. What about any of this suggests a player worth investing in going forward? What does giving him that contract say to Tremble? Hey don't worry about actually producing, we'll take care of you when the time comes.

He's a bad depth player and if you need him to step in you're fuged. I'm telling you, we've been so trained to low expectations the last few years that it's affecting our standards. The guy is garbage. What have you actually seen him do that makes you think: "This gentleman deserves large sums of money to play football professionally." instead of: "I think I would rather watch puppies be eaten by crocodiles than watch this fool attempt to do whatever it is that he does."
-
My first post ever on this forum was about Sam Mills. To me, he will always be the standard by which all other Panthers players are judged. Great video to remind us of who laid the foundation here. Now I'm at least a little bit hyped for the season.
-
Precisely so the NFL could say "See we're not lame and soft and hypocritical, we came down harder on Watson than a female judge. Clearly we're hardcore about disciplining out of line players. RAWR!"

At a bar, with a friend of a friend who is arguably one of the bigger aholes I've ever known, but also a Panthers fan. When that pass got caught, we might as well have been the best of friends. Whole bar went nuts.
