What DJ Moore did was FLAG WORTHY but this WASN'T?????

Thanks for reminding me. fug you Ed "You're not old enough to get that call" Hochuli. Next time try to at least pretend your biases are subconscious. Oh, and I hope Jerome Boger dies screaming. -
Because he unthinkingly poos my posts like a 4 year old holding a grudge because I everscirated him in a debate years ago and he's still butthurt over it. What a class human being.

Dennis Leary probably put it best when he said all the really talented people die young while the people you want to die just seem to go on and on and on. "You could put Motley Crue in a room with two tons of cocaine and they'd probably just come out going "We're gonna do a double live album now!" Sounds like we lost a great one. RIP coach Leach.

I agree that even though this makes our D look good, it just sounds fishy to anyone who's watched the team all year. Bengals and 49ers games do actually count, and the D looked awful in both. Our D is strong, but if it's the best in the league right now, then the league has gotten pretty weak on D overnight.

Don't follow the college game very closely, but the things I heard about Coach Leach led me to believe he was a man of character, insight, and intelligence. If Luvu is any indication of the kinds of players he produces, then he must have been a helluva coach.

You are not wrong sir. We do need another pass rush threat so teams can't just key on Burns, and a pass catching TE threat could really make the offense hum, but we are this bad primarily because our biggest deficiency as a team is at the most crucial position. Pro tip: Don't do Shakespeare on the football boards. It's a bit like bringing bacon wrapped shrimp to the party with all your vegan coworkers. It's not that the bacon isn't amazing, it's just not gonna be appreciated.

I am frankly not sold on Wilks yet, and I say that speaking as someone who absolutely loves the idea of a local guy being the HC. What has been said about him being a man of his word and shooting straight, those things are awesome and show character, something I'm very much in favor of. But I think we should all slow our roll about the team's performance right now, because I think Fhule was so incompetent (which the players not named Robbie Anderson had figured out), so full of himself and so disingenous that basically anyone else would look like Rudy to them once Fhule was gone. I think we should see how Wilks interim tenure the rest of the season plays out, and in the offseason he shouldn't default be handed the position, but compared as dispassionately against other candidates as possible. I doubt Kuechly is going to join his staff before the end of the season, but it goes without saying I'd be a fan of Kuechly being on the coaching staff regardless of who our HC is.
-
Yeah, most great players don't make great coaches because they could do at a very high level, but that doesn't mean they can teach others how to do at that level. Kuechly, like Peyton Manning, seems like he might fit into a different category: players whose in depth knowledge of the game was a key part of their greatness. Anytime anyone mentions Kuechly as a coach I go back to that clip of an opposing player for one of his top 100 appearances who talked about Kuechly not only calling out their play pre snap, but calling out the audibled play as well. One of my continuing frustrations with the Panthers over the years almost no matter who is wearing the HC headset, has been how craptacular we seem to be at making halftime or any sort of ingame adjustments. The Broncos players in the Super Bowl were literally laughing incredulously at the fact that with two weeks to prepare, we didn't make any changes to the gameplan we'd been using all season. This is borderline coaching incompetence, and something Kuechly appears more than capable of winning the chess match, to say nothing of showing up and thinking chess works like checkers the way most of our conservative stuck in the mud head coaches have over the years.

In my infinite wisdom, being highly informed on matters in the Panthers locker room, I'm going to say this.

Do they have a post office in your world? Local government? Or is everything just run by the pink elephants and giant snowmen?

This made me LOL.

Sam only threw the ball 24 times yesterday, with a 5 yard per completion average, and completed exactly one pass to his starting WR's, for 18 yards. The one time he did attempt to throw to DJ early should have been a TD, but a poor underthrown ball was nearly picked off. DJ was targeted only two more times in the whole game. How much can you blame a WR in that scenario who is otherwise a proven playmaker, and how much falls on a qb unwilling and unable to throw downfield?
-
What exactly do you mean when you say the style of football we play? Do you mean the style where our QB throws for 120 yards on 24 attempts, hardly ever even attempting to throw mid level, let alone deep? Our two starting WR's caught exactly one pass between them, for 18 yards. We beat a team with one of the worst defenses in the league by endlessly throwing checkdowns and to the flats, but mostly running against a team with a very poor run defense. Do you think playoff caliber defenses feel put "on notice" that they may have to contend with the Barry Sanders like running abilities of D' onta Foreman, Chuba Hubbard and Raheem Blacksheer? Or is it more likely that an average collection of backs and a promising O line had a good day against a very sub par, non playoff caliber D? I'll wait while you look up Seattle's defensive standings this year. They're not pretty. Look, it was great to watch our team win a football game yesterday. It was incredibly refreshing to watch the Panthers light it up in the first quarter, but playoff caliber QB's are not going to spot the Panthers two first half INT's, one of which set the offense in the red zone from the start, that was a fluke. I'll take it. But it let the Panthers play from in front almost the entire game and that limited Seattle's playbook and put more pressure on Smith to play catchup football. The odds of that being the scenario in multiple playoff games are not worth discussing. What we are is a team without a QB that can consistently force defenses to respect the threat of his downfield throwing, and a defense that gave up 24 points on a day when our offense controlled the ball with the run game and scored 30 while having no turnovers. Playoff defenses won't give up those 30 points against this offense, but playoff offenses with absolutely be able to hang at least those 24 points on a decent but not shutdown D. That's a recipe for a meaningless first round exit and mid round picks in the draft while we try to feel good about getting curb stomped by whoever got lucky enough to draw us in the wild card round. Does it beat endless losing with no hope? Hell yeah it does, by a mile and then some. But let's not delude ourselves about the current team's chances should we make the playoffs.

Why the Panthers NEED Sean Payton..

Nah. Hell Nah. Want no part of Sean Payton. Will not support the team in any way shape or form if he's ever part of it. -

Former NFL executive picks his top QB...
1of10Charnatives replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Very similar things were being said pre draft about Hebert being a bit weird and off and similarly irrelevant things were brought up as arguments why he wouldn't be a good leader. If you think hyper competitive millionaire professional athletes are going to refuse to follow a guy who can move the chains but has an odd choice of coffee condiments, I don't really know what to tell you. I am with you that mayonaise in coffee is weird. I'm even with you that mayonaise in coffee may be evidence that he's an alien trying to pose as human. It's that fuging weird. But if he can sling the rock, his teammates won't care if he's from Rigel VI or East Chicken Neck, they'll line up with him every time. Russell Wilson is clearly not from this planet, but none of his Seattle teammates said so until he was gone. -
Tik tok and Instagram have long since proven that people will watch literally anything.

The Campen hire helped get Bozeman
1of10Charnatives replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. On balance Rhule's coaching hires look less than brilliant. But yes, Campen for sure looks like a keeper. He seems to be fixing our Oline, count me among the faithful if that continues to be the case.
