  1. Early you say...I feel like it’s been the off-season for the past three years
  2. The past two decades of super bowl contenders do have a franchise QB as a top correlation... but it’s #3. The first two? 1. Top defense 2. Top oline With literally a few anomalies. There are tons of examples throughout history of poor teams with a franchise QB who went no where. Like for example the 2020 Texans. If you have nothing to build with AND and team need building, a franchise QB will not matter. You see success in these scenarios when a franchise QB goes to a team that is already solidly built. See the 2020 Bucs. They’re full of mercenaries yes but also have always been full of talent. They should have been competitors for years. Winston literally threw 30 interceptions last year. A great a example of a team benefitting from a rediculoous trade like this is Miami - not to mention the capital they have. San Fran also a good example. The rebuilding Panthers who literally have no oline and a bottom ranked defense is almost the best possible example of a team who would get crippled with this kind of trade - especially giving up two defensive players which is basically all we really have.
  3. It’s funny how people think the Panthers did Cam wrong but sacrificed two seasons waiting for him to rehab without so much as looking at another QB. Now all these people are now complaining the Panthers aren’t finding a franchise QB fast enough.
  4. Wait you meant it doesn’t take just one off-season to secure a long term franchise qb? some of you guys really need to look at the history of franchise QBs It’s extremely rare to go back to back with great qbs like Montana/young, Beldsoe/Brady, Farve/rodgers Just doesn’t happen. The teams who have their guy now, chiefs, Ravens, chargers, bills, Seahawks etc etc have had several poo years and misses beforehand the Panthers aren’t special, they’re not getting there without putting in their time they are one year removed from cam, give it some time and mistakes for things to work out
  5. Same. Except I was expelled in 9th grade. I was a bad, dangerous kid and I can honestly say that now looking at it as a past life and that’s why I was homeschooled. I was smart but I just didn’t care. My mom also had a meltdown. I didn’t have two parents who helped. But they also didn’t stick my in an alternative school. Dad worked 15 hours a day and mom worked part time and had 3 siblings to take care of. I can say whenever I struggled there immediately went out and hired a top rated tutor for that subject. A luxury not everyone can afford. I don’t even think we could’ve I’m sure it was a debt to my family paying for an o line private school and tutors. The more I read about it I think socioeconomic status may skew homeschooler results more than just having shitty parents. But it’s probably mixture and the fact some kids need that social environment to learn where as some such as myself, need to learn without it. I know an army wife right now, husband is deployed with two kids and a full time job and I know she is struggling with the whole homeschool thing. Her kids want no part of it.
  6. It is sad to see Tepper try and play with the big boys with $1 chips that Hurney left him hopefully he won’t ever make that mistake again
  7. Ahhh we call that smart
  8. But but but rhule and Brady and Tepper think TB is their guy and are idiots deerrp
  9. Oh you’re talking about having sex? lol southern people are so funny we call that normal and healthy and that’s why it feels great
  10. As someone who was home schooled throughout high school, and went to college have a good career etc. and looking at the statistics home schoolers do just as well if not better in academics and further in college AND these stats have nothing to do with social intelligence (the main knock on us home schoolers)...I wonder why it failed to this extent. I was doing all these things in high school long before this pandemic (almost 20 years ago) video/ telephone meetings and chats, virtual learning, regular 8 hour school days...seemed normal to me. Guess preparation and the fact it was rushed in a pandemic situation. Suppose it depends on the specific child. Or maybe my parents were just on top of it. Still thought it would do better than this.
  11. If the Lions were smart, they’d take a top QB in this draft with their high pick and solidify their future with a ton of capital. I wouldn’t rule them out whatsoever. Now trading down and acquiring even more picks? I’d even say that is more likely than not taking a QB.
  12. Isn’t Goffs and Staffords guaranteed money about the same for the remainder? That’s what you have to compare it to and in doing so it looks to be Rams got a slight, short term upgrade for way too much capital. Also looks like Goff could’ve been cut in 2022 without much significance. Then you have to figure Rams are going to extend Stafford... Maybe someone knows about contract number can chime in and break it down @stbugs. I’m trying to see an upside for the Rams other than they now have a QB who can make NFL passes.
  13. Meh, could’ve been a next years first. Still think they weren’t as serious as the other teams and just seeing if they could get him for cheap/feeling out what it’d cost/being ‘involved in every move’ etc.
  14. Not even enough capital to pick up the phone. It isn’t realistic any any sense out outside of EA Sports. You either have your guy at 8 or trade down. From all I’ve heard from Rhule about trading down, being able to hit on more guys with more picks, and the fact he wanted to due it last year, I truly believe is a QB isn’t there at 8 they’re trading down and either take a late QB or figure it out this year. That also matches a long term plan Rhule wants. All this FA trade QB talk is nonsense.
  15. I still think they take one. In perfect position for one and now have the capital for it not to matter. Plus he can sit behind Goff if needed and not only get experience but kill one year of Goffs horrible contract. If Lions get a top QB in the draft and all this capital as well, I have respect for these moves. Smart, setting themselves up for the future.
  16. I just don’t understand why? We already have a TB for a year for a rookie to sit behind. Is our FO that inept they can’t scout a good QB with a top 10 pick in a QB heavy draft? I’d rather risk a rookie and long term success than maybe 5 years of a aging QB I don’t see going to a super bowl.
  17. Yea you’ll have to hope you can build and entire team from free agency...which is rare. What’s also rare is free agents going somewhere for a QB....99% of the time they follow the money unless they’re old and aging AND can still play at a high level, also rare. Also there won’t be enough money for Moton, Moore, Watson and Robinson. And it seems you’re forgetting the single thing almost all SB contenders of the past 20 years have - a top defense. Sorry but this post sounds like a 15 year old obsessed with Madden who doesn’t understand how things actually work/reality.
  18. Have you read some of the posts here? That is not true at all.
  19. lol I can see why an obsessive Cam fan thinks they took a big gamble but in reality it’s the contrary, they avoided the big gamble and didn’t pay cam the commitment he wanted to stay, and thank god for that they took a small, short term gamble on TB and he has one year left having a losing season/high pick is irrelevant and would’ve happened either way, any somewhat coherent fan already knew this, it’s called rebuilding, it’s the blueprint and Rhule’s MO
  20. Exactly. I am not sure why people on this forum think Watson has all the leverage. It isn’t true at all. There will have to be a compromise between two disgruntled parties...which should be pretty entertaining.
  21. The team is not ready to compete and a vet QB won’t do poo. Fields and Wilson won’t be the only QBs in the draft and someone else WIlLL work out. It’s about the FO doing their homework and due diligence and making the right choice. This year or the next. That’s what we are set up for and I know this shocks all you Madden players but the Panthers might need more than one season to find their franchise QB and do things right.
  22. Lol honestly this philosophy reminds me a lot of how Rivera/Fox would be make it simple, traditional have your man beat the the other guy if not, we lose our way, no adjusting no scheming
  23. Lol cam fans still butthurt No one blasting Watson how he’s treating the Texans just jumping ship after just getting paid and not getting his way - whether you believe he’s justified or not No one blasting players chasing fat contracts or not giving hometown discounts...cause ‘family’ spare me the bullshit ‘it’s a business’ all players seem to understand this chasing fat contracts but when the FO makes business moves that benefit them all of a sudden players are ‘done wrong’
