do we think the watson trade is announced today (10/26)
onmyown replied to DJ feed me moore's topic in Carolina Panthers
Isn’t the deadline in a week? Why would it be today? -
not a big drop off? do you know how to watch football? or you just watching both get hit instantly because of our poo oline and come up with a casual fan conclusion? Hubbard isn’t breaking ankles every game and he isn’t close to matching gains after contact, d coordinators aren’t stacking up against him or opening up a wr just to account for him WHILE he continues to gain even when they know it’s coming, not to mention he can’t catch worth a poo and if you haven’t noticed, there’s a poo ton of plays/routes that have been yanked out of the playbook because of him and cmc being out CMC has entire defenses watching him and still makes them pay but they don’t even know Hubbard is on the field and there’s not that big of drop off lol this reminds me of similar threads with Davis last year and when other teams realized he was only 90% scrub and they paid just a smidgen of attention, Davis got shut down argue the contract all you want but this take is beyond laughable

It doesn’t have to be a long play, it just takes competency, as I said FO passed on what looks to be a good QB. Watson isn’t a bonafide fast track to instant success either, not sure why you’d think that. Incompetency of the FO to draft olineman, qb, or develop a qb isn’t justification for saying ‘screw it we’re too incompetent to draft anyways let’s just trade them all away in desperation’. Watson isn’t going to fix this incompetency even if he did come here. The argument here should be remedying that issue not trying desperately to cover it up and trade for a player in a situation like Watson. If Watson is the sole path to success for you nothing anyone says will really make sense.
-
Would’ve like Stafford. Or the team have the competency to draft a QB. Looks like Jones was overlooked. Could’ve even traded down for him. Could build like Buffalo did, Chiefs did, 49ers have in the past. Build a legit team and get your guy when the opportunity presents itself. That isn’t trading the future for someone with legal issues and big cap number. There are many paths to the end goal. Watson isn’t the ONLY solution. This clearly reeks of desperation, and Panthers may be desperate but doesn’t mean keep making dumb moves.

Tom Brady has more passing TDs than our franchise.
onmyown replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
i think i can speak for everyone outside of Boston and the two Bucs fans when I say i’m ready for the Brady era to end -
So let’s say Watson is three firsts and a second and the defense isn’t touched, you’ll have four picks in the next 3 years in the first 3 rounds; three 3rds and one 2nd. So the logic is this franchise says screw any other part of the team we will draft 4 olineman in the next 3 years and it’ll be ready by 2026 for Watson? That’s best case scenario and this team hitting those picks. I mean this is just funny thinking. Not saying you, just in general. People want to say TB and Darnold were franchise crippling risks but they really weren’t, this however is the definition of just that.

can anyone name a FA olineman the Panthers have signed that’s played more than one average or above year? it would be zero years if it weren’t for Oher? you’ll need a poo ton of picks to fix this oline not just one third and one second rounder the next few years after we get raped for a few firsts and a second and that’s not considering the defense, the defense isn’t deep outside of CB, see how awful they play without Shaq? replacing them won’t be easy either
-
well if we get rid of our good defensive players, won’t have to worry about having cap for anyone lol
-
Rams also have better coaching. Also you’re not fixing that line or depleted defense with no picks. It would literally be the blueprint for the 2020 4-12 Texans.
-
i mean I know more goes into it but the Panthers were ranked 22-23 points per game last year. the same as this year.

it’s weird how some post about Gruden in the tinderbox being the scum of the earth for sending offensive emails 10 years ago but are somehow perfectly fine with this …which appear to be more than just words for me it’s all entertainment, not a moral compass, idgaf but it’s just funny how drastically different standards are for certain people vs others in some people’s minds half time show performers, it’s ok, they’re artists! watson no problem…he’s talented! Gruden fug that poo bag scum of the earth he needs to burn in hell! and people wonder why there are so many dysfunctional societal issues lol

Wrong thread

Yep numbers are awesome, even last year, but I’ve also seen very little winning due to a garbage team.
-
Also chip kelly

it’s the opposite. a year and what makes it essentially 12m a year for two years doesn’t mean anything. anyone crying about that doesn’t understand the cap, what qbs cost now days, salaries and how it can be manipulated. Panthers have 12m just sitting doing nothing as we speak i don’t understand the trade…you’ll never get back those picks which are much more value than paying some dead money for a year this team won’t be competing for anything anyways hell for all the dead or live money the Panthers pay anyways for worthless/ex players and now Robbie’s bullshit contract it is barley even relevant enough to think about

When did you give up on Matt Rhule?
onmyown replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
then you don’t give them a 2nd pick for him. that was the mistake. the rest is an afterthought. -
‘slightly’ lol…where to begin
-
Trading for Deshaun Watson could set the Panthers back many years
onmyown replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you want to see what a Watson led Panther’s team with poo coaching, poor owner moves, even less of a future draft wise, and dismal team overall will look like, it’s right in front of your face - the 2020 Texans. Stop looking for a one man savior this franchise needs more. -
Ideal scenario, unfortunately the panthers FO are not that bright and extremely slow to change.
-
This. I lobbied like hell for him when we needed a coach and got poo on from hell. He’s a conservative offensive minded coach which I liked. People said Rodgers and Fabre made him, but he DID draft Rodgers when he fell. He is a stubborn coach for sure but worth a shot at $6m a season. I’ve noticed Tepper likes taking chances tho and McC is as far from that as you can get….like an offensive Fox or Rivera. Still Tep seems to have lost this one, bad.
-
this season is done man, like what more do you possibly need to see lol there is only one team we could win in probably a close shootout in the NFL (Lions) and we don’t even play them time to look forward to the draft
-
I’d like to know this too…where is iamhubby to tell use we are all overreacting doom and gloomers and we are still 3-4
