Meh…panthers have always sucked this isn’t new to me lol im sure the cam bandwagoners are in shock and disgusted…probably should’ve researched this team a lil more before following Now a few more years of this? Yea then we are on a new level. At that point I’ll just watch the highlights and going to a game? Lol that’s not new either, hasn’t been worth it for over half a decade and over half a decade before 2013 and again before 2003 it has never been worth it for multiple years in franchise history, ala no b2b winning seasons this feels pretty normal to me tbh barring it not continuing for 3+ more years

Is the defense really performing that well?
onmyown replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not good. Problem is we weren’t playing good teams for the majority of the beginning of the season. Easily fixable with experience/discipline and a couple key pieces like a DT and LB though. Not enough there to fit the scheme. However considering the resources spent solely on the D, I think it’s a bit behind. -
Panthers Bringing back Rhule. Planning to start OC search next week
onmyown replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
i have no doubt Rhule will turn this thing around but without Reddick/Gilmore and/or little cap to work with, zero qbs, and gutted draft. this makes perfect sense to me. -
Or any players in general…they don’t do it because they have no control over it. Hell, in any profession…would some people unhappy with others at their employment have the opportunity to announce it to the world would they really do that? My bet says 90% NO. it amazes me how someone can possibly make it in life not understanding media, coachspeak, playerspeak, read between lines, etc etc I mean it must be one hell of a rough life.

Jimmy Clausen speaks in support of Matt Rhule on Cameo

I thought teams generally restructured with a long term deal for a tag and trade with the idea everyone is on board and the only purpose is not just let players walk aka Peppers, though you’re right Pep was worth every penny. And I’m just throwing poo here I don’t know if this is possible contract wise to begin with.

Could trade and tag him too…or maybe not?
-
Wouldn’t be smarter to tag and trade him?

From Carolina Blitz. Should the Panthers fire Rhule
onmyown replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Personally, I think Tep fires him. I don’t buy he’s here another year. I refuse to believe that level of stupidity exists. -

Panthers taking offers for Cmac in the off-season
onmyown replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
And moved to the slot, catching screens and other scat back type passes for half his snaps while a bruiser gets the tough yards up the middle…behind a below average oline making the Panthers line look like pee wee footballs…dominating for the next half decade. Damn you Rhule and Rivera -
Panthers taking offers for Cmac in the off-season
onmyown replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
Absolutely. This is dysfunctional for two reasons. 1. The Panthers don’t correctly use him and never have. In fact they’ve abused him as they did cam, and for some reason refuse to train him in the slot. Patriots can turn a college qb (Edleman) into what he was but the Panthers have no clue how to do it with CMC who has made some huge plays every chance he gets there. 2. This is simply recovering resources lost through idiocy. Idiocy not only by trading away future picks on garbage but idiocy in trying to recoup cap from further idiocy. I’d rather have cmc for 1/4 the season that signing Darnold or bringing in Cam…you want to take about wasted contracts and cap, as bloated as cmcs is, it’s not even close to the top of the list in actual wasted money. I also have a hunch if trade does happen they’ll pay some of cmcs money anyways as part of the deal. This franchise is truly pathetic. -
It’s very hard for me to believe Rhule will contend with one draft pick that matters and 30 mil cap space with players like Reddick needing to be signed…not to mention not poo at QB which was a result of his ‘process’. And I can’t see how anyone with two brain cells to rub together can help possibly, in any capacity, not see that. In fact I think fans are getting carried away thinking he will be retained, I mean Tep would need to be on otherworldly level of stupid. Let’s wait and see. Personally, I think he’s gone.
-
who cares? Rhule already gutted the draft and cap and fuged 2022 for this franchise it really doesn’t matter what does matter is he be not allowed to do poo with 2023 draft or give out any big contracts - now that happening, I will be livid about he’s chosen his ‘process’ if he must be back make him stay on track ive seriously never heard someone’s plan or process is to continually change directions. You’d think anyone can see that’s BS

If you reset you draft a qb…wtf is up with people wanting to bring back cam? That’s just clinging on to the past, how is a beat up cam going to do any good during a rebuild? if you’re going to reset and rebuild the right way it’s with drafting the future at qb and building up the oline
-
A perfect scenario where cam gets great coaching, fair refs, superb weapons and an above average oline is unrealistic. There are quite a few qbs that would thrive with all that, it doesn’t make him special. Fact is we need a qb for the future and one who can handle things when they’re not perfect, like Cam was over a half decade ago. That’s not him. He’s a mentor/backup at this point for a variety of reasons. But aside from that, the Panthers are a couple, if not several years from providing this perfect qb scenario you describe. Had we had this perfect scenario qbs like Stafford are a better option. But we don’t have it, and are why he said no.

Cam would cost unnecessary money to bring back next year. Just like this year. Another dumbass move by Rhule. Could have rolled it over. Now if a QB is drafted and Cam will come back for pennies while that rookie sits until mid season and Darnold just cut, I have no problems with that. Pretty sure Cam isn’t going to go for it though. Anything more than pennies/one year would be stupid. But cam isn’t winning anything and Darnold is already paid so really it doesn’t matter. On top of that someone needs to lay it out to Rhule he can’t just keep mortgaging the future of this franchise going through is own dumbass mistakes to find his guy. Stick with Darnold or Cam for pennies and sit a QB should he be drafted and don’t, under any circumstance, touch 2023 picks. That’s truly his ‘process’, this ‘process’ should not consist of Rhule constantly changing his tune when he fugs up at the sacrifice of the future of the franchise.

Panthers have to “make a true investment” in the OL
onmyown replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly. Been saying this. This is the best route is for some reason he is retained, Rhule has been allowed to give away too much to find his guy. He has already made his choices. Stop fuging giving him more rope when he’s been dead on the tree for weeks. If they do draft a QB I hope to god he sits. Rhule needs to be forced to win games with Darnold. All he is doing is hurting this franchise with his dumbass poo. No more. -
We should take Kyle Hamilton in the draft
onmyown replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea no. Neal or trade down. If trade down, take the next OL, there are a few to choose from…or QB or hell even trade down again. If we must take any defensive player it should be DT followed by LB but this can be done after taking a top olineman trading down with other picks. LB and DT are much easier to address in FA. S is not a concern. -
Not great. But not a downgrade. If only he had more experience…he got beat as rookies do but also missed assignments. Had he been playing earlier in the season to clean that up, seems it would be just the getting beat rookie type stuff. He has ways to go, really hard to tell watching what Rhule calls an oline who was responsible for what tbh.
-
Sam Darnold can’t throw the ball past the line of scrimmage.
onmyown replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The problem with this is the oline statistically ranks as the worst in the league…in basically all measures. Dead last. An average game here or there out of 17 is not a consistent trend…the statistics tell you what the consistent trends are and it’s not pretty. Moving out to all other seasons in the past 2 decades, again, the oline is in the bottom 10. That’s bottom 10 out of almost 650 olines for every team for 20 years. I mean 15 sacks, most under 2.5 seconds (average time to throw), often far less, in two games is really unheard of at this level. That is just insane to think about. -
What are you going to do if Rhule turns it around next year?
onmyown replied to Fan01's topic in Carolina Panthers
if i had the ability to imagine this I’d be bankrupt from lottery tickets and casinos -
Worst oline in the league, by a long shot, that’s impressive. Historically, it’s top 5 worst is 20 years. If a better QB could make it work, it would be the first time in NFL history, as it has literally never, ever happened…not even close. Give me a break.

i know you need traffic for the site during poo times but this is pathetic
