“I think Garoppolo winds up in Washington or Carolina”
onmyown replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
still trying to find short cuts and cheat codes that only work on solidly built teams that took years, or Madden, instead of drafting one for second year in a row with a top 10 pick lol what a joke -
Nah..not quite. But you’re not wrong, they’re very very close. Quite impressive they have gone this far. They pretty much mirror what the Panthers would be with a elite QB and better coaching. They won’t go all the way imo, but are only a couple oline pieces and experience from easily being SB contenders, not just playoffs. The titans on the other hand need to figure it out now. Their oline was built for Henry. If they miss out this year I don’t think they’ll make it back.
-
Henry is def not 100%

Another’s teams trash is rhule’s team’s….trash

Just history. I believe there there were 2 maybe 3…teams in the past 20 years that made the super bowl with a below average oline. Their QBs? P manning, super sayan eli manning and russel Wilson. HOF and experienced. And that’s just below average. Bengals are like 26th. The lowest ever was Wilson’s at 23 I think it was…actually I think the colts were 28 But anyways if the Bengals make it, it would be pretty impressive. Granted, Burrow is playing lights out so it wouldn’t be a complete shocker. Yea but that’s the playoffs. It’s even more rare a team without a top D makes it…that’s why the chiefs were so impressive along with a mediocre o-line. Mahomes is just that good. but exceptions, not the rule. I expect top olines and top defenses to be in the SB this year just like every other. And the worse those are the better the QB. if a qb is going to mask a really bad oline, it’s going to have to be elite play and nothing less It’s why even though Borrow is a superior QB, And I expect Tann to play worse I also expect the titans to win. my 2 cents

Bengals poo oline is going to be exposed.

Do the Panthers have the ugliest coaching staff in the NFL?

Twice in 13 years? It’s twice in 20 years. Not sure what’s going on there. And in the same time, the Jets were in the conference champs twice. So that’s literally a difference of one game consider the Panthers lost twice. Sunce inception, the Jets made the playoffs 7 times, the Panthers 8, including after a 7-8-1 pathetic season. Since inception our regular season winning record is 205-227-1. The Jets are 187-246. In reality we are the kings of the bottom feeders - the Lions, Texans, Browns, Raiders and Dolphins. But not much more. The Jags are even more similar. In fact, the Jets and Jags resemble the Panthers’ history more than any other team in the NFL. Sorry to say. But because we won our two championship games, they lost theirs, and went on to lose the super bowl…we are a much better franchise to them to where we can call THEM bottom feeders? Hardly. I think you drastically overestimate how great this franchise is or has been. The Panthers are in the top of the bottom 20% of NFL teams all things considered. I really wish people would stop the bias assuming this team is on the verge of being mediocre since inception and we just need that push when in reality it will take literally a dynasty of success for the Panthers to say that. But I get it, we are fans and have shades on. All good.

Panthers were already pretty close franchise wise to the Jets…and Jags. Now if he wants to turn us into the Lions yea f him

I feel like good teams don’t need to do this, just due diligence and proper drafting should get you there. I mean three first round picks? Using all three, three years in a row trying to find that guy, on a rookie deal, is better than just trading away. And if you are so inept one can be found with three first, I feel like there are bigger problems in the franchise. There are always exceptions to the rule like the Rams, or if the QB you won’t is there now…but I mean Rodgers almost went second round…generally speaking I’d rather have a competent FO, giving up that much may be a good move but it’d make me skeptical as it’s rare.
-
but why? we traded and paid Darnold, and PJ as backup…this was rhule’s process. wtf does this say about that process? think Tepper, think…you can do it

Panthers bring in Montgomery for 2nd interview
onmyown replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
sounds right honestly who did you guy expect would come play for this poo show? if you think it’d be better than this, you’re just as dislusional as Tep -
I don’t understand what this even means, sounds out of context. Is the emphasis he isn’t up in an office and is more hands on or that he has less control over any of it than people think? (which doesn’t make sense because he does) I get being critical of Rhule but let’s try to make sense.

Jimmy Clausen speaks in support of Matt Rhule on Cameo
onmyown replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because a rapper doesn’t relate to, and isn’t remotely relevant to anything close to what he is trying to do - build a successful NFL franchise. He didn’t just come out with an off the wall out of the blue statement like I respect Jay Z as a businessman…you guys don’t really understand context? My god. -
-
This. It’s why I fully expect Mc. Has nothing to lose.
-
It’s simple really, admit you need help. Hire the best football guys to help you hire the next regimen. Take their input seriously. I think you know Rhule will fail…not sure any analytic/logic that will point to more favorable results with a worse team due to the cap/contract/draft situation being fuged. Also pro tip - invisible progress is the same thing as no progress.
-
If you think the present state of the Panthers is just as attractive to a HC with options than next year would be despite the difference of a healthy cap, contract decisions, and draft picks that aren’t gutted with better draft talent overall well is just silly. What specifically will an under qualified, lame duck coach with no options other than Carolina, no time/future to implement a system, undoubtably no say on future picks do differently than another year of Rhule?
-
That’s the point. Leash/damage control Rhule and send him out as a lame duck. How is hiring some equally under-qualified (because that’s all Carolina has access to with what they’re selling) lame duck coach, whose system won’t be implanted all the same better or any different than that? It isn’t, it’s just the same. Fans want an emotional ‘message to be sent’ firing but it literally means nothing and won’t do anything. Fact is in what Carolina has to offer you cannot make this situation better. All you can do is take measures not to get worse. Sorry I don’t see a difference unless 1. There is no damage control or 2. A talented prospect says fug better opportunities I’m going to Carolina. Quite frankly, I see neither happening. I’ll be pretty shocked if Rhule os allowed to play with next years’ draft picks tbh.
-
Because as we learned from Stafford, a worthwhile coach will not come here. Why in earth would any coach with multiple options chose Carolina? And why would you chose a coach where Carolina is his ONLY option? To those points does it really who is the lame duck coach is? Why? Someone unqualified is just the same. And no one qualified will take the one year lame duck. It’s all the same. You put Rhule on a short leash and try and sell what we have next year to a new coach to include all draft picks and one of the healthiest caps in the league. That’s how you attract talent that has choices.
-
Probably. Carolina is career suicide. It’s baffling Tepper doesn’t see/believe that.

(On a lighter note...) McCaffery went on vacation to Cabo
onmyown replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
there’s actually people mad CMC doesn’t take this team seriously when Rhule is the coach lol prolly saw that clown walk in and start ya king away about DBO bs then decide to take it easy until the next regimen or team -
They could get a 2/3rd but you all think they’d rather have Darnold for 20 mil lololol
-
with our cap and not being able to afford our own damn players let alone FA…i am not quite sure how it’s even possible or what kind of logic/analytics explain how Rhule will somehow possibly get better results from a worse team… but i guess Tepper knows something we don’t
-
Wow. I thought players knew the ref had to touch it. I mean that’s why players are always running the ball to one in close games/in general. Had they done this, easy 1 second left. They actually tried to set their own ball/spot lol
