  1. Darnold is like that rookie that shows big play flashes (early season rushing, Vikings comeback, soft touch drop in passes, strong arm) but also rookies’ big time mistakes. Except it’s never ending, that’s the problem. To his benefit, in the five years he has been in the league his average oline ranking is like 28. I don’t think that has ever happened in NFL history for 5 straight years. And so he is not a starter, but I actually think he is an excellent choice for a backup position, he is better than PJ…that’s about it.
  2. He could move if he wanted but if he keeps putting garbage out there he will suffer the same fate wherever he goes. But from the looks of it that doesn’t seem to really matter to him, it’d be more about financial handouts from wherever he went. That is priority.
  3. anyone else have an inkling the saints are actually trading up for a LT? on the one hand that’s a lot of capital for a non qb on the other, they’re not a stupid FO and probably understand the value of a franchise LT and they may have one that they really really like
  4. smart teams strategically map out the future we don’t have ammo because our FO doesn’t understand that we spend capital for Darnold, for other players during the season, pass up better talent in the draft for more picks and go all D like this is some madden crap our fans and organization cherish winning meaningless games and the end of a season at the expense of a franchise qb for the next decade because everyone wants to win and tanking is ‘fake’ our top minds suggest playoffs with Darnold after beating two god awful NFL teams and saints third string water boys…that’s says all you need to know about their ability, judgement and assessment of the NFL its all about winning now, right this moment, it’s possible we just need this or that so let’s trade the future for this and that while running in a circle never going anywhere…that’s not how it works that’s pretty much what I read as the OP /rant
  5. I don’t really care about a QBs running ability. Immobility and elusiveness yes, that is a very desired, elite trait. But legitimate running? I’m honesty not sure why that matters.
  6. OR some people just want to know what the hell he is saying and are genuinely curious (myself included) not the edgy narrative i know, but i bet it’s more common than people are told to think
  7. Actually, if I remember correctly the census around pretty much everyone was either Horn or Fields if Sewell was gone, mainly Horn, with some smaller whispers of Surtain and a random Smiths here and there…and that pretty much happened. Granted that was much closer than draft time than around this time. But seeing as this will be the third year in a row the Panthers have a top 10 pick, that isn’t surprising, most mocks worth their salt, closer to draft time, generally nail the top 5 and often 7/8 of the top 10 picks/moves of the draft. Which makes sense as they’re the easiest.
  8. This is excellent. Where are all the peeps hating on me saying this needs to happen from last year lol needs to happen regular season too 100% OT as of now is a joke
  9. Hmmm an elite back for 4 games or an above average slot receiver dangerous in space for 17 games? yea what CMC ‘does best’ isn’t 30 carries a game rhule you could get CMC to drop some of that weight too, better long term for him and the panthers
  10. that is what makes cam special and he did not have a lot of options, their oline was good so why not lastly Cam was a lame duck, everyone and their mom knew it but to be quite honest I’m not sure what this has to do with the topic. Elite coaches know how to utilize elite talent
  11. Cmc IS a slot receiver Eddleman was a QB btw you truly believe that if belicheck Peyton or mcvay had cmc he’d be getting 30 Carrie’s at RB? Lol it’s just lazy and inept
  12. Tep needs to hire all kinds of help in a lot of areas and stop with his amateur bullshit treating this like a damn hobby
  13. shows polish imo but not ceiling out of curiosity what was cams?
  14. when you can wrinkle your pants by sitting down, things need to change
  15. when you guys comment on Howell can you do us all a favor and specify whether you’re a tar heel fan/alumni/homer beforehand? makes it easier to gloss over the comments thnx
  16. they need experience in confidence which is hard when you have no chance, yes they do need a HC and I’m sure they’re well aware Rhule is on the hot seat i was comparing to Darnold and comparing to cam who also stunk, G would be better than either that’s pretty obvious also comparing to options…I’d rather draft and olineman and pay G nothing to probably not doing anything than draft from this group of turds and go qb next year than do something dumb like take Pickett
  17. if it’s just a year or two and meaningless cap, key word meaningless - like cam got, who cares really yea we could roll it over but it’s not that big of deal, this young team needs experience with at least a mediocre qb that won’t lose the game for them, I think there is a lot of value in that i don’t see Rhule lasting after a 8 win season and if he does better and goes playoffs he deserves to stay imo despite all the pitchforks
  18. you can bet your life if cmc went to Belicheck, mcvay, or Peyton etc…he would’ve been working in the slot day 1 and worth every penny the panthers can add him to the waste bucket with Luke and cam…at least that is impressive
  19. Fit said he felt good about the dline (and oline) and the work there was done but honestly, i don’t think it’s going to turn out well don’t get me wrong I like the moves but i feel we still need some playmakers…fat ass bust brown really set it back i expect more gash rushing and stepping up from opposing qbs this year per usual
  20. this is the general consensus and also the general consensus as to why… not sure this is really any type of ‘prediction’
  21. I’d say sitting behind and collaborating on the sidelines with one of the best like you said is a form of indirect mentoring and I do believe that probably helps preparation. And again that means the rookie is sitting and he’s only sitting because the vet is still high level. But as you said, it ends at some point (or doesn’t cause the rookie sucks or vet has more in tank ala Love) because it’s cut throat. The way it is. Like you said at some point the younger player needs to be given the reigns and older cast aside to avoid issues. But cam isn’t going to show anything at this point on the field and people seem to confuse cam with a good qb coach and it’s really not the same. In fact I’d argue, ironically, players who played like crap but have the gift to teach work out better. Plenty of examples. It’s two different skills obviously.
  22. why are people obsessed with this mentoring idea like that doesn’t happen unless a vet is on the field playing at a high level, and even then it’s rare, otherwise it’s called a qb coach it doesn’t make sense, learn to enjoy the panthers/nfl in general
  23. can’t fix stupid who cares anyways easily replaceable in fact we already a have another rookie/two year WR with bigger upside needing reps
  24. can you imagine Brady winning a SB with a third team (ever been done before)? Damn this fool won’t die but he’ll be out of the NFCS so I choose to believe this
