Carolina Panthers Three Year Salary Cap Forecast Looks Strong
onmyown replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Unfortunately, all of this positivity comes with that Sam Darnold-shaped asterisk, because if he doesn’t work out this team’s ceiling will remain relatively limited, no matter what the cap or draft capital picture looks like. Not so sure. Building a solid team first, that will be attractive to a good QB prospect (FA or draft) is very valid for success. The Bucs, Chiefs, Broncos, Rams, Steelers will be one I believe…all went that route. A team isn’t just a QB. You don’t have to get one before building a good team. -
BR's list of most overpaid players on every team
onmyown replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
This oline isn’t Moton away from competing. If he isn’t signed to be here long term the Panthers need to trade him, preferably this year. -
This is of course the ultimate solution. But then there is in-market advertising. Someone on the west coast being advertised for east coast companies, events, what have you is moot. And money will be lost. Of course there is always the ability to localize commercials to some extent, but I’m not in broadcasting and have no clue how feasible that is for a network. I know there are apps that do it though. All said and done the NFL claims they want to reach as many fans as possible and then have turned around and alienated fans, it makes no sense. They see NFL as a whole, a product, and don’t distinguish the fact people are fans of teams, not the NFL in general. So their ideas based on profit is basically a kick in fans’, their own customer’s nuts. Just completely out of touch with their own product and how it works in relation to customers, not profit. There has to be a balance, and there hasn’t been since it’s existence. Because there doesn’t have to be. They make plenty of revenue without caring. Not many businesses can ignore fans like that and get away with it. So what would need to happen is someone, business minded, will actually have to care about the fans/customers. It just doesn’t happen. A good analogy is like wanting JR to put a Panther logo midfield. It never happened. Fans don’t run the business side of the NFL. Not me, but most people don’t even watch any game but their own team. And I’m sure a lot would pay just for their team’s games. /rant

There’s levels. I always find those comments to be stupid. Like did you post that from your bike you built, in a library parking lot, using their WiFi on a device that was donated to you while eating a perfectly good meal from the trash? If not, you’re not saving money anywhere you can. I mean how far can you go with that? Everyone spends money on different things. Including kids. Or a spouse. Education. The key to wealth AND happiness is being smart and plan - know where to make the sacrifices and find the balance so you don’t turn poo miserable person. And if buying a things like direct tv or even a ticket to a game, destroys your whole possibility of wealth, it wasn’t there to begin with.

REPORT: No movement in Panthers’ talks w/ Taylor Moton
onmyown replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope the Panthers have learned NOT to do that ala Norman and Peppers. Maybe BB. In that scenario (where he won’t be resigned and he isn’t the piece away from a SB and he has value) tagging and trading is much much more lucrative than having him play. I’d rather have a first round pick than a year of Moton. Hell we got a half of a season of a half assed Peppers when we could’ve easily had multiple first round picks. If he isn’t going to be here let’s get something out of it. -
Cam Newton says 2016 shoulder injury affected him for years
onmyown replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Huddle Lounge
I remember that game. That was a clean hit by Watt, his face mask hit cam’s shoulder as the first point of contact, head upright. And this is clear from the photo. They are PLENTY of cheap BS shots on Cam no doubt. However that shot and him trying to tackle the interceptor (reasons for his downfall) had nothing to do with missed calls. The bad calls, Riveras stubbornness and Hurneys/Get’s pathetic oline building ability really just unnecessarily added to the wear and tear. -
this guys is a troll, watch him disappear Yeab BB doesn’t think he’s abysmal enough for 5 mil while drafting a qb in the first, which I believe is the only time BB has ever done that in his career. back to cam’s comments about ‘commitment’ and being traded…means what? some sort of cam fanboy code? acting like this was least year, we’ve seen the results already…yea we know about the excuses, they’ve been on repeat for a decade…but the results. They weren’t good. It was a good move.

REPORT: No movement in Panthers’ talks w/ Taylor Moton
onmyown replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
So with Paradis and Moton gone next year what exactly is the Panthers total investment in an oline? Greg Little, a $2 bill and a bojangles sandwich? If Darnold doesn’t work out or gets injured due to this garbage, Rhule will have no choice but to draft the next poor soul lining up behind traffic cones. No legit QB is going to dumb enough to go for that. -
As someone living in SLC I was excited at the idea of a package to go see the Panthers first game. But for $799 no tickets? Not even a night at a hotel? Just ‘4-5 hours to rest’ and basically no sleep for 48 hours? What sort of shady con is this lmao Here is a lot better option: Round trip - $450 1 night - $150 Panther game - $100 Beer - $50 Uber - $50

In the age of 2021 I think it’s absurd a satellite carrier has the rights. Yea uh, we are streaming poo from apps now. Not worrying about being in a ‘service area’ and installing poo on our roofs lol. Then the shady poo of contracts, good grief. I did the math in the other thread and it would cost near $2,000.00 for Direct ticket for two years ($300 less for one). Sorry that just fuging dumb. And yet people not in the ‘service area’ can just buy the ticket for $300 a season. Much more reasonable (and modern). Don’t tack it on to some sort of absurd subscription contract and stick a brick on my roof. What a joke. I honesty don’t care who ends up with it so long as it’s treated as the modern age. Meaning an app, internet…NOT satellite. Don’t fuse it together with the other company make it a stand alone. Let me buy my NFL for a few hundred bucks each year. If I need to subscribe make it a small fee and NOT a contract. Just be reasonable and stop being fuging greedy. Stop punishing fans anymore than you are simply because they moved to a different area. This should’ve been done better 15 years ago, it’s time already.

Jermain Carter Highest PFF Panther LB Last Year
onmyown replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
But contracts need to be taken into account. CMC is elite but fans don’t appreciate him because of his contract. I don’t see anyone saying TB wasn’t that bad last year, breaking down stats (statistically he wasn’t) saying he would’ve been great for 8 mil. Hell Ryan Kalil would have been wonderful at vet min. Just doesn’t work like that. Of course no one blames the player, but it absolutely should be taken with value because that’s how a roster is built and games are won. Recognizes he’s a good player but detrimental to the team financially are what separates a Panther fan from a football fan. -
I mean we have hundreds of cams minute long first down celebrations in the 4th down 20 points resulting in a penalty and dominating runs while losing that everyone seems to love, not sure why we can’t enjoy this. Actually yea I am.

Moton is the best long term answer at LT because the FO either ignores it or is too completely inept to actually address it.
-
He can’t beat our Little or Daley or Erving? That will be a sad thing to hear. Beating them doesn’t even mean he’s starting caliber…but at least his mistakes will be because he is a rookie.

You guys know you’re being trolled right?

Could Taylor Moton become the Panthers' left tackle permanently?
onmyown replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wow so the coaching staff is doing what the huddle suggested for the past three years after numerous failed (stupid) signings, injuries, and a bust second round pick? Another one to mark in the books….lol -
Ranking The NFC South Offinsive Lines: How Low Do The Panthers Go?
onmyown replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Teddy Bridgewater had a faster release than Brees last year. That should tell you just how awful this oline was. There are only a few QBs with at least 400 attempts with a quicker time to throw than TB and in relation to the oline, none ranked worse than the Panther’s Oline. Just goes to show there’s a lot more to that ‘18th ranked’ oline…factoring in these, I’d put them closer to 25. These ‘oline wasn’t that bad’ people, well I have no clue what exactly they’re going on. Still it’s somewhat a different unit as said so yea preseason rankings and unknowns etc. But it’s reasonable to assume, given history and the content of what they’ve added to the line, there won’t be any improvement. If there is, it will be a pleasant surprise, but surprise nonetheless. -
NFL fines Washington Football Team $10 million
onmyown replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea I think JR chose to sell and wasn’t ‘forced’…not that he wouldn’t have been had he chose to fight it. Itd be nice is people weren’t paid off and details/stories/lawsuits would come out and some jail time would be included. I’d prefer that to forcing them out personally. It’ll taint their business and ruin him personally to a much more satisfying degree IMO. But lotta money involved for lots of people so that won’t happen. These a crimes…not things you ‘fine’ people for. -
fug that, I say we keep finding FAs with injury issues and keep our oline budget in the 10-15 million altogether.
-
Maybe it’s just me but if we weren’t taking a QB and there was no chance of Sewell, I feel like signing BB trading down and drafting Parsons would’ve been a better plan as far as value and results. But I’m no GM.
-
Kind of reminds me of last year…all this pass pressure (which we’re actually middle of the road in) people want to talk about and yet only FOUR other teams allowed more average rushing yards per attempt than the Panthers. Then this forum bashes teams like the Jags who guess what…were tied with the Panthers at 27th in the league with that stat. Passing wise we didn’t do too bad…and by that I mean slightly closer to average….except interceptions and sacks. Only one team had less interceptions and again we tied another known ‘bottom dweller’ on the huddle for 31st place…the lions. Sack wise, only 7 teams had less, and compared to playoff teams our total sacks were near HALF of what’s needed. There is hella improvement to be made. Overall, we’re still kings of the bottom third of the NFL, which isn’t too bad considering, but back to your point, if the odds are a team will get a first simply by running the ball, especially with zero fear of turning it over should they pass, that will always just cripple a team.
-
Do you really need it if you just have everyone sign a waiver while sober?
-
actually guys the best contract value for 2021 will be our best player pick in 2022 or maybe even 2023 that will help to win games and make several pro bowls on his rookie season, I mean we are paying him zero dollars this year and maybe next, can’t beat that
-
Uh, yea, Chinn represents draft value, not actual contract value lol dumb Hurney wouldn’t know value if it nailed him in the ballsack so we have limited options, not sure I even know who to give that to outside rookie deals. Have to consider time too. Giving one hit wonder, ‘it finally clicks in my contract year1!’ guys long ass contracts are bad value. Hello again Hurney. Also hindsight, the only performance measuring value we have is past year’s play. So in my humble opinion, I’ll go with Reddick. Only 1 year, 6 million (8 with incentives) came in with 12.5 sacks. Sure there are some question marks but I don’t think anyone would turn this down.
