Jordan Martinook expressing similar frustrations... "We didn't have everyone on board. For the most part, we were off. Our whole group was off. It's disappointing because that's the team that ended our season last year. You want to come out and show something. Show that it hurt you. We didn't do enough to win that game." Sebastian Aho offering his thoughts on the affair... "I thought they were better in every area. It starts with our compete level up and down the lineup. We've got to be a little better. Sometimes the intention might be there, but the execution is not there... I felt like a lot of time those crucial 50/50 battles went their way and we've got to be better. They got more momentum off of it and we spent way too much time in our own zone."

I caught the post game interviews. Both called out the work ethic of “guys”. Rod said that some guys are trying to cut corners and maybe taking the easy way. Do you guys think that the new guys have created that much of a sag, so much so that it is affecting the entire teams ethic? Is there 1-2 or 3 that you can point to?

They both have some major skill getting the puck to the right position. Noesen I think may be in my top 3 favs. I dig his game, he does the dirty work around the net and is masterful about it. His grittiness, attitude and motor are admirable.

Like Chatty using his size a bit. This one seems to be trending towards a physical game.

That was my thought when I heard he was scratched. He really makes that unit go. We will see if Orlov can get there. May take some time to build chemistry….

Thing I like best…. A game like this against a quality team can build confidence. It lets you know that if you do the right things, play the right way every shift, most of the time we can pull it out. Builds confidence in the system and helps with new players buying in to the system and Rods way. This could be a propeller boys!

100% Tripp mentioned it as well. He he was playing super human and was then brought back to earth x 3. Momentum and confidence are HUGE, you shake it and you have an opening…. Our guys just never let him settle back in. He was reminded he is a human.
