Ngl, I watched Jamarcus closely, because if he could put it all together, he was a fuging specimen. And even him not giving a poo and not trying, he was still 1000x more enjoyable to watch and more competitive than Bryce. Most of that is because he had the physical tools. Bryce does not, which makes it damn near unbearable to watch week after week.

Remember when Cam and Smitty had a lite beef a couple months back because Smitty took umbrage at Cam saying when he came here we had a “locker room full of losers”? Smitty was like “so I was a loser?” He didn’t get it. Smitty was always a dog, but losing brings about a stench that lingers. It’s like an infection that spreads. Even the most ultimate competitors, when subjected to it long-term, suddenly find themselves, subconsciously, giving less. Doing less. Staying safe. Taking the “there’s always next week,” route. Guys like DB don’t know what winning as a pro looks or feels like. And when guys like that become the leaders of a locker room, that becomes the culture. How can you teach others and lead others to winning mentalities when you don’t know how to do it yourself? And that’s what Cam walked into. Not everybody, but the majority. And that’s what Cam referred to. Smitty had won before. He wasn’t a loser. But the majority of the guys in there had gotten used to losing ways and for even guys who had won previously, it’s hard to pull a whole team out of that tailspin when you’re in the middle of it yourself. Coaches, players, training staff, etc., all get immune to the sting of losing in those environments. And back when Cam got here it wasn’t even this extreme. This entire team is full of losers. Like it or not. None of them have won before as pros, not here. And without a spark plug injection at specific spots - and i’m telling you right now Canales isn’t enough - we are stuck in the fuging basement.

This. And also, to counter jb, a prime example that all his receivers didn’t let him down - Renfrow straight cooked his matchup at LEAST twice today, and on both of those plays, Bryce threw a horribly inaccurate pass and turned what would’ve been at minimum a 20+ yard gain and at best been easy TDs. Renfrow did his part. Even the PI Tet drew - imagine if we had a QB that had enough arm strength to put that pass ahead of Tet and gave him a chance to run under it. Bryce fuging sucks. Period.

I’ve said it in other threads. He belongs in the NFL, but we aren’t using him correctly. I’ll give him the rest of this season to see how it pans out, but then again, it’s also hard to judge him because we don’t have a guy who can get him the ball in his areas of strength. I know some compared him to DK when he came out, which is possibly an apt comparison, but with a noodle armed middle schooler at QB, it’s impossible to know that. DK isn’t known for being ultra agile and making ridiculous, ballerina-tight rope catches. DK is a force of nature. A big body guy who is freakishly athletic and relies greatly on strength and straight-line speed. That’s how I see XL at best. At worst, I envisioned him as a bigger version of Deebo. Again, a guy that isn’t ultra agile or quick, but big, strong, physical, and fast, but as you mentioned, Deebo worked because they were great at figuring out how to get the ball in his hands in creative ways and at scheming him open on routes. In my estimation, none of these three are route technicians. But the way DK and Deebo developed, that gave me hope for what XL could or can be. I still believe he can be that dominant, but with Bryce, he is not in an offense that will foster that kind of development. It’s my belief that just like in the preseason, when the guy pulling the trigger can’t get guys the ball in their preferred spots, it not only hinders immediate results, but it also makes it impossible to evaluate what we have. I would like to see what XL can develop into, but as long as they keep trotting Bryce out there, that domino effect fugs everything else up.

Both those sideline catches were inexcusable and I’ve been a XL guy. Believing this offseason would have him coming back dramatically better. His physical tools are undeniable. And he clearly is a hard worker. But man, to be a receiver and not have the ability to extend your body and drag your feet while pulling the weight off your lower half? That’s a prerequisite to being a receiver. It’s bare minimum stuff. You can be athletic as hell but some stuff you just can’t teach. He looked heavy footed on both of those plays. Absolutely zero attempt to drag his feet and agility was nowhere to be found. Idk man…

Yeah, as I watch him sulk on the bench and all of us poo talking his play, I feel bad for him momentarily. Who wouldn’t want that opportunity? Who wouldn’t take it? And who would, as a competitor, willingly just throw in the towel and say, “you know what guys? I acquiesce. I’m not good enough.”? So I get that, and for those reasons, I feel bad for him. It’s not anything against him as a human being. It’s as a player. Because then I think about all of the hype leading up to his being drafted, and how he played a part in that. Knowing what limitations you have, and you refused to workout pre-draft at the combine. You swindled yourself into that opportunity. And even if you fail, and even though you cost our organization invaluable assets that fast tracked the Bears rebuild while we continue to struggle, you still walk away with life-changing, generational wealth. So, that’s where my sympathy ends. It’s a big boy game now. You’re not good enough. Period.

Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining.
Proudiddy replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
But again, it would be one thing if they did that and then followed it up with playing the rookies. Cool. But nope. There was a 3rd down today where A’Shawn Robinson was the only guy pressuring from one edge. There’s just seemingly zero direction and yet they still pretend it’s part of some master plan. -
This is probably one of the only real quotables that stuck with me from my dad growing up, and now, I don’t think there’s a more fitting motto for our Carolina Panthers except they’re the ones that’s doing the pissing and telling. They ARE pissing on our legs and saying it’s the rain. We’ve wasted two additional years in Bryce after knowing what he was from his rookie year. No contingency plan in place. But, plenty of fake hype about a few lightning fast glimmers of hope in contrast to the consistent, large sample size of work that he had showing he was not an NFL starting QB. Look at the defense - where guys like Morgan, instead of addressing a position of weakness, spends the offseason telling us how great Trevin Wallace is. How much trust they have in a guy like Cherelus(sp?). How much they’re counting on young edge rushers Princely and Scourton… then we get into a meaningful game and Wallace is abhorrent. Horrible. Disgustingly bad. Rozeboom looks horrible. Constantly missing tackles and out of position. The rookie edge rushers? I don’t even know if they played today. And we still generate zero pressure for most of the game. All this organization does now is LIE. To us, to themselves. All they do is shill. It’s a con job. They know their product is poo, but listen to how great it is. Believe us!

This organization is so apathetic and shitty now, they didn’t even promote or post the live pressers on social media anymore. I had to go search for it on the YouTube page. -
We run run pass BECAUSE OF his physical traits.

I stopped watching at the lightning delay. How did they do?

In fairness, Baker and Sam came in under the dysfunction of Rhule. I don’t think any QB would’ve excelled under that. Only PJ looked competent, which was weird. Canales has shown what he can do with a competent, capable QB when Dalton started. -

Well, no doubt, I just think whatever Tepper touches turns to poo. But I think for Baker and Sam, it was mostly because their tenure was under Rhule. I don’t think Canales is a lock for anything yet, but he showed what he could do with a competent, capable QB last year with Andy. He just needs a competent, capable QB. i hope he doesn’t hesitate and goes ahead and benches Bryce this week. -

I matter what he did, even the refs bailing him out in the last one, Bryce couldn’t shake that 2nd INT juju. It was breathing down his neck. He felt it. He heard it. He just couldn’t not give in. -

And again, all these guys were available to us at any point before now for a lot less compensation. Jameis, Fields, Shedeur, Milton, etc. but this dumbass franchise tried to sell everyone the snake oil that is Bryce. fuging garbage. -

This isnt directed towards you, LG, just using your post as a springboard to a more general realization…. I think it’s officially time to stop looking for the mysterious piece Bryce needs. In our optimism, we all hoped XL was it. Or JT. Then Tet. Then Renfrow. He has the most physically talented WR corps we have ever fielded and still looks like poo. We’re talking about an NFL QB who only had 56 yards in the 4th qtr, was just sub 50% completion, and has two, and what should have been three turnovers. This experiment is over. -

Morhrig just got MURDERED. I am not exaggerating, that was the worst block I have seen since the eliminated the Hines Ward crack backs. -

I don’t think they had thrown the flag before Bryce threw it. They definitely bailed him out. -

Meaningless TD so we can feel good about starting this piece of poo next week again. Much like that meaningless stretch of games Bryce played last year against mostly teams that had nothing to play for. -

I think it was relatively well placed, Scot, but Tet still had to try to one-hand it. but my point remains. With Bryce we have to rely on one handed catches and hoping they’ll be called for penalties to convert drives to positive outcomes. It’s because we can’t and don’t execute consistently on the routine. We need extraordinary results and penalties to do what functional offenses do by being consistently good.
