I read an article a couple weeks ago that said in Russia they found the virus used an immunosuppressed patient's body as a "gym to make itself fitter," and it mutated 40 times in her. She apparently had it for 11 straight months before she recovered. But, in that time, they said the virus even mutated in her body to hide itself from t-cells and antibodies and such, which the researchers found fascinating bc why would the virus disguise itself from something she didn't even have. Fascinating article. I remember early on, I had hope that it would only last a year or so, as I had read a virologist/epidemiologist had said at the beginning of it that they believed the virus would likely burn itself out by the time a vaccine was even available. I also read the theories that, as you mentioned, the virus would go the way of the Spanish Flu or Hong Kong Flu... they were super deadly initially, but over time evolved and just became endemic and part of our seasonal flu we still have to this day which are a lot less lethal. I also remember you had said a friend of yours from John Hopkins (IIRC) said they thought the virus, as all usually do, eventually mutate to less deadly versions because it ensures their survivability - which gave me hope that it would last long. And yet, here we are, almost 2 full years into this, and I'm reading articles now about how the delta and lambda variants have patients much younger and healthier in the hospital than the original strains... and it doesn't appear to be slowing down. My wife's facility just went on lockdown again because they've had another outbreak... first time since the original wave. It's just so depressing and disappointing. And people still out here trying to make a political statement by not taking the simplest of precautions, meanwhile, they're just giving the virus all of the tools it needs to mutate and become that much worse.

So tired of seeing several idiot "friends" from HS beat their drum of how they don't wear a mask and don't make their kids wear masks, and they're not getting vaccinated bc it infringes on their red-blooded American rights and they ain't getting microchipped! No idiot, but what it is infringing on is everyone else's, to live a healthy life and our desire to end the pandemic. I just don't get it. This pandemic has been absolutely eye-opening. I knew people were selfish, but this has really demonstrated just how selfish people are. If only some smooth-brained idiot hadn't politicized it, let people around him die from it, then got the world's best medical care that the American public could foot the bill for, and then quietly received the vaccine himself before leaving office despite all the wreckage he left behind. Anyway, this whole thing has shown who you can really trust to protect people they don't even know by doing the smallest of gestures. It's ridiculous. Everyone stay safe and prayers for a quick recovery for your children, Jeremy. And I think after 90 days once they're virus free, any kids 12+ (last i checked) can receive the vaccine.

Rhule was trying to "hold" the lead today ?
Proudiddy replied to JABANOG's topic in Carolina Panthers
I may have rambled a bit and misconstrued by own point there... I meant if his goal was solely to hold the lead for the win rather than use it solely as a situation for evaluation purposes with the outcome being inconsequential, that would bother me, because it means we failed and it served no real purpose. -
Already more productive than Ian Thomas was all of last season.

Although the amount of complaints about this staff and preparation is becoming a troubling trend. -

Welp. He gone. -

Ehhh, I don't like that at all. If that was their exact wording... I dont take preseason outcomes too serious nowadays, as most coaches use it more for situational reps and practice to see how their team performs in any given scenario and winning or losing is fairly inconsequential (see Belichick)... but if Rhule was legit playing to win and "hold" the lead for the desired outcome instead of just using the situation as a metric, that doesn't sit well with me. -
I was gonna say the same thing... people keep brining up that it was against 3rd and 4th stringers today, but he played Indy's first stringers 2 years ago and looked just as shitty, if not worse. Could be the guy just isn't very good?

What was the Breakdown of Starters and backup playing for the Colts??
Proudiddy replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
According to the radio broadcast, our guys said neither team was running any starters. I guess they viewed the joint practice as enough work for them. -
I still don't know why we wasted a pick on him. Even in college, I thought he was a undrafted/PS type of QB at best.
-
Taking a page from the head official... Cut this week: This OL unit, "everyone but the center."
-
Yeah, I think that's the nail in the coffin for Pride. According to the radio team, Rhule also hadn't went over there to check on him until they already were getting him up, which was probably a good 5 minutes.

Cart coming out.

Idc what anyone says, PJ is legit. He might not look great in practice, but he's a gamer and he's an NFL QB with NFL skills. Will Grier? Not so much.
-
Well, he obviously had a say in it. My point with the reference to Ron being, he also had a say in drafting guys and then not playing them because he had vet guys he trusted more. I definitely don't think that's what Rhule was doing, but just posing the question.

Kevin Donnelly Said Rhule Was Livid at the Half
Proudiddy replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, gonna watch it on the DVR when I get home bc I'm out running errands, but just from listening to it, I felt like Trent Scott may have just played himself out of a job. -
Said the locker room was "fiery" and Rhule ripped into the team over the penalties. He said it was zero tolerance on penalties for the second half. Interesting.
-
Which makes me wonder if his lack of reps with the 1s is Rhule keeping that gem close to the vest before the reg season, tough love, or some old Ron Rivera "my guys first" stuff going on?

Also, tried to stream through the app/panthers.com and its absolute garbage. I'm in NC and it keeps saying the game is not available in my area. I'm in fuging Raleigh. Panthers media strikes again. Make your own app and its absolute garbage.

Is it an additional fee? I have Hulu with ads and I can't find it anywhere.

Despite the bummer about our starters not playing, I'm super stoked to see TMJ. I've seen a lot of apt comps to Moose, Michael Irvin, and some other greats, and I agree, except he has a little more speed... Also, interested to see how Brown and Christensen play on the right side. Tremble as well. Chubba. And I've been intrigued and hopeful for STO since we took him late in the draft last season as a developmental prospect because of his size and athleticism. Interested in Taylor for the same reason.
-
Yeah, I thought he had been playing well in the few blurbs I read about him in TC, so it's a bit surprising.
-
I'm disappointed. I'm out running errands with the wife, and last year, the NFL app let you stream all of their network and NFLN games. Wtf is this gamepass poo?

Mine only has a link to "listen live." I don't see a stream.
