Wow. Surprised we got anything for him, but man... a 2nd rounder who became a 7th. I wonder if it's conditional because I don't see him lasting there either.

I don't want to judge him, but it's just the combination of all the issues with him that makes him just seem like he's not all in... the speeding ticket, saying outright he's not getting the vaccine despite almost the entire team having gotten it and on top of that he isn't a superstar, and the team has gotten used to playing without him because he has been injured the entirety of TC and apparently is nowhere close to being ready either.

In all seriousness, Tory Pride made things a lot easier for them. So there are 4 cuts today.

I like Minshew. His play-style reminds me a lot of Jake. Would love to bring him in for the right price (late draft pick). That being said, I'm higher on PJ than most, and I just don't see our staff bringing in another guy that would threaten Sam this season. I think they're fully committed to giving Sam this full season, unchallenged and see if he can improve... if he doesn't, then he's gone.

Yeah, I really like Franklin too.

I've seen a lot of different names thrown out there for guys that impressed against the Colts, but I haven't seen anyone mention Kenny. I loved the pick last year bc I watched him in the XFL and he was an absolute dog. Appeared to have great athleticism, instincts, and had a great story as well, having been the only XFL player to forgo his college eligibility, so he was also super young (IIRC). Was a bit discouraged when we had briefly released him last year, as I thought someone would scoop him up, but we brought him back... hadn't heard a lot about him through camp aside from a few plays, but now that I'm watching the game, he really stood out. He had a big TFL on 3rd down in the 1st half and the pick in the 3rd quarter. I'm really hoping he finds his way to the 53, because I think he has a ton of talent and will certainly get better moving forward.

NGL, they showed him walking on the sideline after he came up gimpy, and I thought to myself, even among some of the largest and widest bodies in the world, it's very rare that you see guys now who they still can't find pants for that fit them... Brown is one of those guys.

I'm still watching it now, and every snap I've watched them, I've been impressed. Very excited about these picks.

I was pleasantly surprised by his in-game adjustments last year and tactical acumen... but, I was not a fan of the hire when we made it. He has made me a believer in his coaching ability and as a culture setter so far, but I do have some hesitation in fully buying in because of the huge flub that his QB decision last year ended up causing and was directly responsible for 8 of our losses. I worry about the college stuff a bit and that maybe that wears thin on some guys, but I think he speaks with conviction and authenticity, and that resonates with players, which is why I'm hopeful that he will become an elite coach that guys want to play for... but the QB stuff and the constant college connections popping up here - those things are gonna have to sort themselves out.

Great post... this was the info I was referring to in one of my earlier posts where I read last week that the UK was projecting better than they had at any point since the pandemic started and they cited it was due to their 70+% vaccination rate at the time i read the article. If there is no greater indicator of their efficacy, there you have it. And I agree that there is hesitancy that doesn't fall in line with any specific political ideology, but the more vocal and blatant voices I hear and see on social media about not masking up or getting the vaccine are uber conservative. But then I also have friends who are hesitant about getting the vaccine but take the other precautions, and I sense theirs is just simply a distrust of gov't, which I understand and empathize with, but there is enough data out there that proves regardless of government, country, etc., the vaccines work.

Yeah, I know. I meant to notate that in parentheses lol and debated whether just to call him a second year guy, but the fact he's been with the organization for 3 years is what matters in relation to how much he was playing.

I said it in the game thread yesterday... I think PJ is one of those guys who don't look great on practice, but for some reason, he flips a switch when it's an actual game. It's probably got a lot to do with why he excelled in college and the XFL, but has struggled to find footing in the NFL (that and the competition level as well). But, he has shown some great things when he has been given the opportunity to play. I don't count the New Orleans game last year bc they were beating the breaks off of us altogether.

Miller had a great dip and rip move on the first or second play of the game. But, I admit, it's not good that he's going into his 3rd year here with us and played that many snaps in a game where starters didn't play at all.

I queued up the DVR last night, but fell asleep soat some point in the 2nd qtr, so I'll have to go back and watch it again, but from what I heard, he did great for his first play-by-play job. I expect some hiccups, but he did really well.

Yeah, most of them are,, but my point being, the virus and how it's handled shouldn't be politicized. It should be cut and dry... or should have been. And if it would have been handled as such, we would already be on the other side of this thing.

Yeah, I get that, but we're at this point bc of the unvaccinated people who took ZERO precautions. And vaccinated people were told they could go maskless, which then opened them up to the breakthrough infections. I don't care, vaccine or not, at minimum the masks should be worn and physical distance maintained until we got this thing under control. But, people are so selfish, they can't be inconvenienced at the slightest even if it means doing their part to end a pandemic that puts others in danger, if not themselves.

I was worried about the same thing when these vaccines came out. But these points got me over that concern: 1) these vaccines only introduce messenger RNA, it never penetrates the nucleus of your cells that contain DNA, so it has nothing to do with your DNA. And your body quickly sheds the mRNA after it does it's thing. 2) At a q&a when they were introducing the vaccines at the medical facility my wife works at, she posed this question about hearing how the vaccine changes your DNA to the doctor (which we had discussed separately before), and the doctor there said that if you get the virus itself, THAT changes your DNA.

Yup. I have always believed in and relied on the natural antibodies approach, until this virus. Everything I have read says they found the natural antibodies fade much quicker, but the vaccine antibodies (especially combined with natural infection antibodies) provide the best, most long-term protection.

While true these variants are causing much more breakthrough infections, they still protect from the worst of the virus. I did read a research paper recently that said they believe the Pfizer is only 40+% effective against the delta variant, and they think the lambda is resistant to all vaccines, they still believe it protects from the damage the virus can cause. But, who knows? The longer this goes on and people don't protect themselves or their fellow human beings, they may render the vaccines useless altogether. Meanwhile, the UK is projecting better than it has at any point during the pandemic. Even with the delta variant. Why? Because they had like a 70% vaccine rate at the outset of the delta outbreak. Gotta love America.
