I'm not going to say the book is done on him, but again, the foreshadowing is not looking good... I just think he was always extremely limited and dependent in the talent around him more than a franchise QB should be. And my take is not influenced by whether they're trying to hide him or not with an injury... I felt this way before we drafted him and I felt even more conviction about it after seeing his play through the preseason and the first two weeks of the regular season. I'm not completely writing him off, but I also believe after what we've seen, that hoping he figures it out and becomes an elite QB now or in the future is a really, really slim possibility. Still hoping for the best, but I just don't see it.

Brother, I don't know of any team in their right mind that trades their top receiver and next year's first plus more to get a QB at #1, revamp their entire offensive roster to help him, and THEN decide to tank knowing they don't have picks the next year. It defeats the purpose of tanking. Put it in the bank - this is not what they planned to do or intended. They sold out for Bryce because they thought they were gonna win immediately with him. We are in for a rough few years, at best.

Don't get me wrong, I even said it at the time, I hate his squirmy guts, but i viewed it as having a guy like Rodman or Charles Oakley... you absolutely can't stand them playing against you, but if they're on your side, you absolutely revel in it. He is a bitch, though lol.

As I said, as a former athlete that played basketball through college - if I ever rolled my ankle, I either could go or I couldn't. There wasn't an ankle sprain that I could walk on without a limp that I wouldn't have played through. If it inhibited my ability to walk with a normal gait, then I couldn't play. Bryce is moving fine. This is a real mess.

I happily eat my crow where possible... and I was vocal about wanting Payton. I still think he's a better coach, but I also think he is purposely fuging poo up there to get rhem to move on from Russ or something bc that poo is insane. You don't just forget how to coach when you've proven you know how to do it - unless you just grow too stubborn and dont evolve with the game, which is also a possibility there, but I don't think it's likely. And despite them getting a 70-burger dropped on them (love McDaniel, btw), I don't quite feel like admitting I wanted Payton and them sucking is eating crow because we still made a worse hire in Reich. ahhh, life as a Panthers fan. Never gets old.

Careful there. That's apparently a "conspiracy theory" according to some here lol.

It's revisionist history at its finest though... there were a lot of us, myself included, who preferred to sign Carr or a Dalton and play this season out and then take a swing at QB in this coming draft, not the one we just traded our top WR and multiple picks to move up for Bryce in. You can call Carr or Dalton retreads, but we would've been so much better off taking that approach, and I felt that way even before we saw how the season has played out... now it just hurts that much more seeing that it looks like the worst case scenario and that we gave up everything we did, with the brass fully believing this plan would get us back on the right track, and whether it's the coach being the wrong hire or Bryce not being a franchise QB, or both, we still have a very, very long road ahead of us at a huge cost.

Sweet. That's some high quality coaching right there. Even Matt Rhule couldn't lay claim to this stat at any point in his horrible, clueless tenure.
-
I've already accepted they're picking 1 and 2.

Same thing Viska did to get phased out for no fuging reason. Reich sucks.
-
Same. And again, as I've said elsewhere, even if we were determined to trade up, I'm sure we were the only dumbass FO that was going to take Young at 1, so we really could've moved up for Stroud or AR (my preference of this class) if need be, for less. And I still believe Hooker is going to be a good starting QB when healthy, and he could've been had way later. But ideally, I was happy with signing Carr, playing the year out, then trading up next draft. But, that's life as a Panthers fan.

Suuuuuuuuuuuure does look like coaching is the problem
Proudiddy replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dalton showed a lot of the excuses placed on the WRs were just that - excuses. Dalton played a really great game. Other than that? Penalties, playcalling, play sequence, and situational football was absolutely putrid, so yeah, Reich is a HUGE problem. It's really clear... we made a bad decision there, and put ourselves in a hole that's gonna last a few years. -
Just came downstairs to a gigantic pile of metaphor

Love you, brother. I claim your wife is healed and made whole and Captain will get it together, and i speak those things into existence. Prayers are with you for complete healing and restoration for your wife and family. -
This poo is crazy though. Like I would think the common causes like overtraining or logistical/scheduling poo would be pretty common knowledge across the industry and easy to avoid. The amount of non-contact, soft tissue injuries is alarming. Also, fug their rookie corner that knocked Mingo out... that was a helmet to helmet hit that they didn't even call.
-
Payton will always find a way to poo on us, so yeah. Bears are probably picking 1 and 2 this draft.
-
Just in case the on-field issues weren't enough... Man, our team is really snake bit. Don't remember the last time that many starters went down in one game. Good times.
-
TBH, I love Burns, but atp, we may as well. We aren't turning this poo around in a year and Burns is pretty one-dimensional, and the longer we play like poo and I see him stop running plays down from the weak side and just decide to walk instead like he did in the 4th today, I'm cool in letting him get paid elsewhere. He has 20 sacks in a season potential, but I don't think he ever gets to that here. Hell, most teams are just gonna get up on us and run the ball anyway, so he won't get as many opportunities anyway. Ultimately, he isn't going to make enough plays to win games himself anyway.
-
I agree, but this was more like a notice to those who haven't been here. But ngl, everytime I think we've hit rock bottom, something like that 2 point conversion from today happens and they prove me wrong.
-
Yeah, and honestly, why not keep Foreman and that same scheme/blueprint in place from last year and saved money from the Sanders' signing because a strong run game is a QBs best friend... That would've been ideal for Bryce coming in. And now Dalton too... it really opens up the passes. But nope... these dumbasses even said they were experimenting with different blocking schemes throughout the preseason, when we already saw what they did in the last few weeks last season. Sadly, looks like they're still experimenting now.
-
Hey and remember Viska was going to be used a ton in the backfield this season?
-
Its absolutely mostly scheme, but its also personnel fit. Whatever theyre asking the OL to do in the run game is not their strengths, and as an extension, what theyre asking Sanders to do behind them is just as bad of a fit. Remember, how bad our run game looked last year before Rhule was fired? Then when Wilks took over, they shifted to a different blocking scheme and put Foreman in and started putting up record numbers. Same guys blocking... it's mostly scheme.

Brother, a lot of us have waited for a lot of years to eat crow, and if anytime before was rough, it's nothing compared to now because Tepper is leaving us fuging starving.

You also have made it your personal mission to defend Bryce from mean 'ol Proudiddy's criticisms. And again, I made a joke after Mingo dropping ANOTHER pass that we pretty much drafted him bc Bryce's dad said Bryce liked him after the first night if the draft lol. And the team literally posted it on their site as part of this mastermind PR tour showing how this offensive juggernaut was built... and then the games happened and we look like absolute poo. I didn't make it up. I didn't embellish. The poo is literally how our team framed it for our consumption. I don't have an agenda against him. I think he's physically limited, I never thought he was a franchise QB or worthy of the number 1 pick, but, once we took him, I hoped against hope that I was wrong. I've seen enough to feel like my assumptions were warranted. I still hope for the best and would love for him to turn it around and then we don't have to worry about QB for 10 years - but I've played and watched enough football to understand that is highly unlikely based off of what he's shown so far. Also, you said it took Dalton 60 passes to make for a functional offense like that was an insult lol... bro, they wouldn't even let Bryce throw 60 times. What does that tell you? But sadly, I never like putting a number on wins before the season is done, because I still always want to maintain hope for any given season as long as I possibly can - but again, based off what we've seen thus far, I have to agree, we'll be lucky to get 3 wins. And what's worse, we are likely married to Reich for a minimum of 3 years, so unless he magically comes to his senses and hands playcalling over to Brown, this poo is going to be a rolling dump truck full of manure... and even if Brown does assume playcalling duties, I'm sure he'll be hired elsewhere as a HC quickly and we're right back to circling the toilet with Reich. And all of this poo is on Tepper.

I still think Stroud, AR, and Hooker will all be solid+ NFL starters.
