  1. Hell yeah. I'm over waiting on CMC to stay healthy. He's a fantastic player, but he plays the least valuable position in football, which we invested heavily in and he can't stay on the field. And honestly, if our name is already out there still being rumored to be pursuing Watson, and Darnold already appears to be skittish and on poor footing with the staff as he reverts back to his Jets habits, we may as well pull the trigger. Darnold likely won't improve from this point, and if he does, it will be marginal. So...
  2. Like this... I dont understand, why is Melo still on the bench?
  3. That was a ton of contact on Hayward there
  4. Now this is the team we've been waiting for since the last week of last season.
  5. We are officially the Pacers' bitch. And for the record, I still don't understand why we extended JB. He might be solid with player development, but he is not a good in-game coach at all. Rotations and adjustments are always garbage.
  6. It all starts and ends with the bigs. And as long as they keep trotting these JAGs out there, its gonna keep being a problem. edit: also, you said 60+? We might be setting that floor a little low.
  7. JB is looking to get his ass canned this year.
  8. McConnell looks like he enjoys snorting coke.
  9. Sabonis may have 50 and 20 tonight if JB doesn't put someone else not named Washington or Plumlee in. This is ridiculous.
  10. I'm not disputing that, but much like with our OL with the Panthers, at least if JB gives the young guys like Richards, Carey, and Kai these minutes, I can be hopeful they'll develop and grow into their potential with them. I can't stand bigs like Plumlee. You can't fuging defend your position, your hands are iffy, you have little to no offensive ability, so you're just out there because you're big as poo.
  11. If their name is Plumlee, they are a guaranteed goofball on a basketball court. My God this guy is hard to watch.
  12. Yeah, I don't even give a poo about this stuff anymore. Until the staff shows they're competent, none of this poo matters.
  13. And as an aside, this is as much an indictment on Brady as it is Darnold. I mentioned in the gamethread Sunday that I didn't understand why we weren't incorporating more of the concepts the Vikings were to get our guys open in reference to how the Vikings started running our of doubles and bunch forms and dragging their receivers across the field to avoid Taylor locking them up. We used both DJ and Robby this way last season, but it's like the offense is different now... and even with the shift in routes and concepts in this season's iteration of Brady's offense, when the receivers do come open, most of the stats show Sam is missing them on a vast majority of them. And with how bad the OL is, I'm still not understanding why we don't do more underneath stuff and use motion to get the ball out quicker and then start taking shots down the field as the defense tries to counter that. This offense feels a lot more like Shula's for some reason.
  14. This was from David Newton prior to the Vikings game and I did not see it posted here already, so forgive me if it has... but, this is why I don't get any of the Robby bashing despite our receiver's performance this past Sunday. https://www.espn.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/35556/carolina-panthers-wr-robby-anderson-and-qb-sam-darnold-still-searching-for-chemistry-they-had-with-ny-jets An animated Anderson went to the sideline and yelled at receivers coach Frisman Jackson. He wanted to run a “double move, stutter and go,’’ understanding the defensive back that had been sitting on his routes most of the day. He called the outburst “passion.’’ “Somewhat frustrated too,’’ Anderson said on Wednesday. “I felt like if I had the opportunity, I could have made a difference in us winning the game. That’s my biggest concern, winning.’’ ... Anderson lack of involvement is one of the biggest mysteries of the season. His catch rate of 41.4% is a significant drop-off from his 68.5% last season, when he finished with a career-best 95 catches on 136 targets for 1,096 yards and three touchdowns. Clay says Anderson appears to be the third option on most plays, based off of the depth of his routes (15.3 yards, up from 9.4 yards last season) and number of targets. “I’m not too much in control of that,’’ Anderson said. “I’ve got to do what’s told of me to do.’’ But, he admitted, “My role has shifted a little bit.’’ For one, DJ Moore is getting more of the shorter routes, which may explain why he’s getting 29% of the targets compared to 17% for Anderson. Last season, Anderson got 27% compared to 22% for Moore. The Panthers are trying to fix things. Anderson has been targeted 18 times the past two weeks after tallying 11 targets the first three weeks, which prompted Clay’s tweet. In a film study of all 29 of Anderson’s targets, with help from ESPN Stats & Information and NFL Next Gen Stats, these things stood out: Eight of Darnold’s 28 off-target throws have been to Anderson, including five on his first nine. Anderson has been open on 31 of 35 routes where he wasn’t targeted. This is defined by NFL Next Gen Stats as 3-5 yards of separation. Anderson has faced man-to-man coverage on 94 routes, compared to 70 during the same span last season. Darnold has a 47.9 Total QBR versus man coverage, ranking 24th of 32 qualified quarterbacks. Anderson excelled in 2020 on crossing routes, which accounted for 13.7% of his plays. That number has dropped to 6.9% in 2021. It was 13% with Darnold in New York. Anderson’s tight-window targets have risen from 15.4% to 20.7%, but his receiving percentage has dropped from 28% to 12.5%. His open-target percentage has dropped from 23.5% to 13.8%, and his wide-open target percentage has dropped from 17.6% to 6.9%.
  15. No doubt the offense is trash. But, it's also clear Sam can't make the plays needed to be a quality starting QB in the NFL, and that isn't just based off of this stat.
  16. No doubt, I agree, PFF has some questionable metrics, and the OL should factor in a bit, but I think it just affirms the issues that were already present in his game. Rodgers' can afford to miss on that many yards downfield because he also hits so many. Sam can't. But, I also believe we have a multitude of problems right now, and Sam is just one of many.
  17. But, it's not in a vacuum. People clearly know the difference between Darnold and Rodgers, but tried to use his receivers being on this list as a reason this stat doesn't matter. Darnold doesn't have the other passing stats that Rodgers does, so combined with this stat, it shows Sam really isn't doing anything well, and the big plays we need, he is generally leaving them on the field.
  18. And those bringing up Rodgers' receivers on the list... now share their receiving stats and Rodgers' throwing stats as well. The difference here is Rodgers completes almost 67% of his passes and only has 3 picks, and he throws a TON of deep passes historically. Don't be intentionally dense.
  19. Actually it does. Robby's catch rate was almost identical in his time with the Jets and Sam as it is this year. I think I saw last year he was up in the 70s. And he clearly wasn't loafing with Jets or we wouldn't have signed him... it has to do something with his comfortability and ability to read the ball coming off of Sam's hand... I guess almost like a batter being able to read and identify pitches as a pitcher releases them, and for that reason, why guys handpick who throws to them in HR Derbys. They've just never been able to get on the same page, and it has nothing to do with effort.
  20. Like I said, unless they figure this poo out, our season ended on Sunday.
  21. I honestly felt we hadn't seen worse QB play in our franchise history over a sustained period of time because Teddy was so conservative overall, combined with his clutch mistakes, and losing whatever it was, 8 or 9 games on the last drive. But, then along came Sam... I figured as long as we got a guy that was somewhat accurate and willing to go downfield, we would win several more games. And here we are now with Sam having a lower yards per attempt than even Captain of the Checkdown Teddy. I will also say, as the year went on, Teddy did get worse and mistakes more obvious than early in the season, Sam has just got the jump on him because he's been doing it here and there for weeks already and is generally costing us games before we get to the 4th. But, now with hindsight and more perspective 6 weeks into this season, two things are clear - a lot of Teddy's problems were Brady being a horrible coordinator, and two, Sam is indeed a horrible QB. I said it in the gamethread Sunday, but if they want to salvage anything from this season, they are better off going ahead and starting PJ before we get too upside down on our record.
