  1. NGL, he made me want to go back to church on that part. It was moving, and boy was he preaching. Beautiful.
  2. Me and you both, brother. Dude is 5 years younger than me, but makes me feel like how I did watching MJ as a kid. And the universe agrees, Cam as a Panther is just perfect and how it should be.
  3. "Whatever Sam Darnold was" "You can't wear that on a date" "Blue Cam Newton jersey" "Showing Tepper and Rhule you're the franchise" *steel chair to the head* That was perfect.
  4. And I also agree and disagree with your agreement and disagreement. Because as we've seen in this latest debacle with Sam, the OL play is also largely dependent on the playmakers behind it and vice versa. It is a wholly symbiotic relationship. As we've seen with Sam, when the QB is indecisive and unsure and holds the ball too long, the OL play suffers and looks much worse than they would otherwise. If runners are not waiting on their blockers or good at reading the holes that open up from blocking, then the OL is going to grade out worse as well. A huge part of our struggles this season have been purely due to the QB play because it has a snowball effect. The NE game was a prime example... we couldn't generate any offense passing, so then we tried to force the run, but the defense could key on it and sell out because they weren't threatened by the pass. Sam was hardly pressured, and the run game stats weren't bad. The OL did a good enough job, there just wasn't enough offense from the QB position to make it matter. This line isn't much different at all from last season's, yet last season's looked much better because Teddy got the ball out quick, which also then opened options up in the run game for Mike Davis in CMC's absence. No one was complaining about the line last year, and we had Trent Scott starting most of the year at LT because Okung was out, and Chris Reed was horrible and started quite a bit. I'm really hoping Cam masks this OL's deficiencies, much like he did for the unit in 2015. I know he doesn't have the same cannon he did, but he still has plenty enough and the athleticism and size is still there to do things that other QBs just can't. He fills a lot of the gaps that have been missing, coincidentally enough, since he's been gone lol.
  5. I got the feeling Okung didn't really care much for playing football anymore other than paying the bills, and I also got the feeling that Rhule and the staff got the same feeling about Okung, which is why they didn't bring him back.
  6. Also, I watched the full presser for context, and it seemed he said this more in regards to having to put Sam on IR, but there were undertones of "we'll have to figure out what to do with him." There were several times that Fitt rattled off what they would do with PJ, Cam and Matt, and then seemed to toss in Sam like an afterthought. He also said at one point "IF Sam comes back," which seemed to indicate more than just an injury issue.
  7. Cam was never ranked dead last in all-time stats among QBs who have thrown at least 160 passes. Nowhere near. So letting him go was always the wrong move. This Darnold experiment is over. Signing Cam should signal that. This move came from Tepper and put the staff on notice that their experiments with their guys are DONE. I think Cam plays the rest of the year out, plays well, and we re-up 2 or 3 years after this one. Both Rhule and Fitt said yesterday that they see Cam has "a lot of really good football left," and it's arguable if Sam has any. Sam is done. He will be lucky to secure a backup spot after his performance this year, even here.
  8. Damn, I heard the Hawks thought about bringing him in, but I didn't know they actually offered him, but makes since bc Cam knew once Wilson was back, it would be his job. Houston is intriguing because he definitely could've taken that job and kept it, but he didn't. It's as if the stars all aligned perfectly for him to come back home. As though it was always meant to be. Because it was. I dont know, I can't quite articulate it, but I think the reason it stuck with me so much was because I had this sneaky, underlying feeling that our time with Cam as our QB just wasn't done. It felt like seeing him in New England was like seeing your friend on vacation (albeit a shitty one. fug new england), but you knew they were coming back home. This is so poetic.
  9. Yes, what he has against Cam is that he wasn't his guy. The word is Tepper is the one that made this happen. I'm sure Rhule has no problem acknowledging what an amazing player Cam is; he has and does. What he has issue with is acknowledging he's better than the guys that Rhule tried to make the face of his teams. So, even though he has had to put his ego and pride to the side enough to make this move happen (although I think he did so because his job was hanging in the balance), it's still gonna be tough for him to admit how Cam was the right guy for the job all along and he made not one, but two mistakes trying to find someone to replace him.
  10. Well, he did openly joke after acquiring Gilmore that he was going to knock around and see if anyone had any LTs available.
  11. Mentioned in an answer to a question that they weren't ready to discuss the future yet, but it was about getting Cam in here right now and getting him to play good football this week, and next week, and so forth... was then asked directly if Cam may play this weekend and Fitt said he will leave that up to coach, but a lot of it depends on how quickly Cam picks things up. @8:20
  12. He should see how happy I am.
  13. Considering that stat I read the other day that out of 373 passers who have attempted at least 160 passes (or something like that) since they started tracking it, Sam ranked 370th and lower all-time... I would be more surprised if we were able to find a team to take him than I was that we were actually able to bring Cam back.
  14. Rhule looks like someone who was just forced to sign someone to save his job.
  15. Shaq just seemed pissed off about it. I appreciate the lunch pail mentality, but eas that really necessary? Damn dude, you act like Cam didn't just exponentially improve our chances to win each and every week for the rest of the season.
  16. I'm all pie'd, eggplanted, and flamed out. Wow, I did not forsee me having a wet daydream after I woke up this morning. But, really... sincerely... thank you. You have made me whole again.
  17. I am curious who shared this screenshot though and how Sheena feels about it?
  18. As I speculated in other threads, I had no doubt this is exactly what happened... and I dont blame Tepper. He has a playoff-caliber defense and ST unit at this point, with two Top 10 WRs and possibly the best RB in the league, and it was all being wasted by Rhule's dumbass vision for QB. This team is capable of playoffs, and the last 4 weeks we suffered needless losses because the QB wasn't just bad, but possibly the worst QB to ever take snaps over a given number of snaps. EVER. Tepper was right to step in and force the move, and as I speculated, it likely was also hastened by the fact that he never wanted to move on from Cam in the first place, but was trying to give Rhule the autonomy to build a winning program with how he saw fit. But, after wasting his money and time the last 2 years with retreads, and seeing his stadium being overrun by opposing fans, it was either "look, we're bringing in my guy, or you are fired." And I don't blame him. Now, if Rhule can't win with a proven winner and guy, who even as a lesser version of his previous self, if potentially a Top 15 QB in the league, then Rhule's fate is probably sealed anyway.
  19. Yessir! Good post! And I will say, one of the few bright spots for Brady this season was his creativity with runs in the goal to go situations earlier in the season... if that stuff was already in the playbook, it makes this offense infinitely more intimidating with Cam running those speed options, shovels, etc.
