I expected the fake there, but if Hekker could've led Viska a little instead of him having to reach back for it, that's an easy first down. Not mad at it.

does it seem like Clifford is going to BS with Miller
Proudiddy replied to Frank9999's topic in Charlotte Hornets
I didnt pay much attention to Scoot during SL, but I have heard he is impressing. I watched what I could of Miller since SL and he has not been impressive at all, so go ahead and prepare yourself to adjust expectations and support accordingly - our franchises can not get out of their own way. -
does it seem like Clifford is going to BS with Miller
Proudiddy replied to Frank9999's topic in Charlotte Hornets
I dont think Miller will amount to much more than a rotational player, honestly... but, that being said, he could be the second coming of Paul George this season, and he still wouldn't get poo for playing time under Clifford. That's just the way the cookie crumbles. -
Dan Orlovsky with a message to the Huddle
Proudiddy replied to thebdawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
This. What does "what are some doing to Bryce" even mean? We're fans. So unless he's talking about booing, there jsnt anything else we can "do" to him. I think he's likely alluding to something with the coaching. -
McDaniel: Bryce is a baller with a bright future
Proudiddy replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I really like McDaniel, but I think this is just pre-game fluff. Literally almost everything he cited, Bryce has actually demonstrated the opposite in games. Maybe he's talking about him from a perspective of what he sees as strengths that he feels Bryce possesses that he knows he could utilize if he was coaching him? In that case, I understand him seeing things that we haven't. But idk... -
A host on Lions flagship radio proposes Williams + first for Burns
Proudiddy replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
What is the deal with Williams? Why isn't he playing? I thought he was highly regarded, so why is he continuously mentioned for being moved? -
I almost gave up following or watching ever again. That hurt so bad. I know it's just football, but I will never get over that loss/robbery. It was ours and it was stolen from us.

Could Both Fitterer and Reich Be Safer Than We Think?

This. Tepper us an asshole, and if he humiliated himself, somebody else is gonna answer for it. -
Okay over/under drops to 47 instead of 50.

It was a terrible trade but not because of Bryce

Maybe there's more of it going on now bc of the stretch we're in, but it's not new. I've been here since 2004, just a few months from the inception of the site, and we've had countless posters disappear. And I mean quality, well-liked, popular posters. They still post on Twitter and such, and some have occasionally checked back in after years of being gone and then disappear again to never be seen or heard from on the huddle again. I still remember some from those early 2000s and their avis and names... but as someone else said, some of it is just the fact that internet forums aren't what they used to be, and on top of that the team has never been this bad for this long, and so people are forced to reevaluate what's important and how much time to spend on things they care about. Our team is making it an easy decision on whether they're worth the investment or not.

Wouldn't you expect he should already have a grasp on this by now and it wouldn't have taken getting our ass blown off by Detroit in week 5 to figure it out?
-
To go from what Chinn did his rookie year to getting 18 snaps now... this poo is baffling. And we're even thin at MLB. Why not move him back there?
-
He might not have asked for it, but if he didn't feel he was capable of living up to the expectations then he should've let them know and gracefully bowed out of the runnin for #1. But he didn't. So is he gonna return his salary? No. So it's hard to feel bad for the guy. At the same time, the staff and FO believed in him and went all in on him, confident that he was worthy of the #1 overall pick and of being a franchise QB. So in terms of whether to feel bad for him or not, or considering if expectations were unrealistic or too high - I'm sorry, brother, but this is the modern day NFL. If we take a player at #1, we expect you to change the direction of our franchise for the better. We expect you to set the tone and team culture. For better or worse, that's what comes with being the #1 overall pick now, so it wasn't unfair or unrealistic. And again, if he didn't feel he could live up to that, he should've let them know in the pre-draft process.

Amazing how guys have spotless reputations before getting here and now it's everybody's fault but the people actually responsible. Jefferson isn't the problem.
-
It's gotta be Caldwell, Evero, or Brown. Someone that is already here on the staff. But I agree about Johnson and anyone else worth their salt on the outside, and have said as much in other threads - we have reached the point now with Tepper's meddling that no coach with the ability to turn the culture around here is going to come here - EVEN if we overpay. Our reputation precedes us at this point. It's bad.
-
We had Tepper being at practice with Dan Morgan. Didn't see mention of Fitt being there with him in his immediate presence. I think that's sending a message. We also had Bailey's reports that Tepper isn't happy and seats are getting really hot as a result, and that changes could be made soon. Again, considering the epic levels of humiliation currently cooking up in our smorgasbord of fug ups that has been the Tepper Era, it's obvious Tepper is getting restless... and this tree topper of a doozy - trading for the #1 pick then becoming the worst team in football - will be hard to live down, and thus someone will have to pay. I give all of this info to lead me to my point of what I found to be further symptoms of the inevitable impending head rolling - Reich's Presser. Local news in Raleigh did a cut up of his presser and he said belief like 10 times or more. It's like he decided to latch on to some nebulous concept as a way to demonstrate "we're on the right path," even if you can't see it. Sound familiar? Yes. It sounded eerily similar to Rhule's last stretch of post-game pressers before he was canned. Reich seems to feel the heat, and you better believe when a coach starts telling you about all of the intangible things that make their team special when there isn't an inkling of that translating to the field, then they're already placing their head firmly in the sacrifical guillotine. I'm not sure if it happens this week, but I wouldn't be surprised. And if not this week, I'm sure one of Fitt or Reich is gone after we lose to Miami.

I know, we have 100 different variations of this thread here on the huddle... but, I have to say it. We really traded CMC, DJ, and two firsts within a year, moved up to the #1 pick and despite drafting the guy "we" wanted there, we go on to be the worst team in the league and give up the first overall pick the next draft as a result. We could not have gambled any worse. There is losing and then there is LOSING, and we redefined it with this last year of moves and it's gonna take several years to dig ourselves out of this hole, if it's even possible.

Calling it - the Bryce Young trade is the worst in team history
Proudiddy replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
No doubt. And he is trending to be the biggest bust in NFL history considering where he was picked and the cost of getting there to pick him. Just imagine being the first team in NFL history (at least to my knowledge), that sold out to take a guy at 1, traded their first pick of the next draft, and then turns around and unintentionally tanks that proceeding season. I don't think a team has ever traded their first and ended up having that pick be first overall before. That is an unreal L. Like worst gamble ever.- 79 replies

What a coup. Got DJ this year, then imagine getting Caleb Williams/Maye and Marvin Harrison Jr. In back to back picks this coming draft.
-
They dropping 50 minimum.
-
I agree. An OC that can strap on his shoulder pads and get out there and play QB for Bryce.
-
I dont think people really realize how fuging insane it is that we traded a legit #1 WR (I maintain DJ is a top 5 WR in the league) as part of thr package to move up for Bryce, and then are now rumored to be giving up more assets to try to get a "#1 WR" like Jeudy, who isn't really a #1 WR. That poo is certified, batshit crazy. And it's not even taking into account that no matter who they add, it's not going to make Bryce any better. The more I watch him, the more I realize he just doesn't have the ability to make the players around him any better or excel. When you traded up to #1 for a guy you basically have to hide and hope the cast around him can carry him, you fuged up big time and set your franchise back for years.

Lol they wouldn't trade a 2nd for what they already have in Jones. Both are ass.

This is what stood out to me most today. Sure, he looked better when they were up 18+ points and running prevent defense and we went uptempo, but the throws that were there early in tight windows that he couldn't complete were my biggest takeaway from today. I think it was Chark he tried to complete one to in the back of the endzone early and it was probably only 10 or 15 yards, but it felt like that ball, even with a low trajectory, just hung up in the air forever. He just didn't have enough zip to get it to there when he was open and it allowed the defender to close the gap and make a play. This happened two or three times on similar passes in the first half. Point being, I've seen enough.
