For contrast, just how bad is our OL STILL?
Proudiddy replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've thought about it quite a bit since yesterday, and the only thing I can figure is that knee must've been a lot worse than we were led to believe. He looked HORRIBLE. -

Yeah I have no idea how it is measured either, but came from a "credible source": I'm assuming the pocket time is based off when they have to come out of the initial step-drop? -

Could've fooled me. So PFF is essentially saying ALL pressure is coming from Ickey and Moton. That would be false... And it also doesn't explain the avg pocket time of 1.1 seconds lol. -
Yeah, that's why I'm not with the ban talk... Jai has been around for years. Never acted out of character, just hasn't been as active recently (and who could blame him lol). If he is sharing it, he believes it and believes the source he got it from. I just hope he's right.

Skipper was cut and on the PS, then brought back and elevated to the 53 and started yesterday. 3 BACKUP OLinemen starting and they still looked like this. We have thr guys Rhule wants starting and Baker is averaging 1.1 seconds pocket time. It's the fuging scheme and coaching... I know, dead horse, meet beating, but it is just ridiculous. And for Campen to be so highly regarded, it has to show just how cancerous Rhule's influence is that our OL STILL plays like poo with Campen brought in as OL coach and all the upgrades we made. I honestly don't remember ever seeing anything like it. And if you happened to see the Lions postgame celebration in the locker room, you can see the difference. Dan Campbell doesnt excuse bullshit, and he doesnt make excuses period. They find a way, and they play for each other. They bekieve in their coach and the players beside them. And they follow their leadership because of that belief. Whereas if it was us, our players already know their pussy coach is gonna get up after the game and say, "well, we were down 3 guys already, and you know it's just hard for these guys to come in with such few reps and play well. But we're so close. We just gotta keep battling through it." fuging gutless dumbass.

I wouldn't be mad at seeing if Wilks could be the guy. He got a raw deal in AZ... I think we will be worlds better with just dismissing Rhule and Snow, and I honestly don't really give a poo about his underlings beyond that. I'm sure they'll follow, but we'll be fine. That really is the best possible scenario for the rest of the year, because it's not like a Leftwich, Payton, or Flores is gonna come on mid-season, so may as well see what Wilks can do.

I been complaining about this for 3 years. Snow think he's fuging prime DC Rex Ryan with exotic blitzes and dropping guys into coverage so the other team never knows who's coming. No, Phil, you're just a dumbass. You're not fooling anyone, nor are you playing to our strengths by dropping our best edge rusher into coverage, EVER. Show me the last time Burns got his hands on a ball that wasn't in the backfield... yet, you're dropping him 38% of the time into coverage. Chinn spends the majority of the games in a deep zone where he essentially does nothing because teams never throw it deep on us, they just nickel and dime us all the way down the field... And I mentioned thr same issue with Haynes. They kept him because he supposedly is a great value as an undersized pass rusher. And I agree, he is good as a pass rusher... and yet, last week, we subbed him in on ehat should be pass rushing situations, and Snow dropped him off the line into coverage. The dude barely functions at his strengths because of his size, but you drop him into coverage, which is something he doesn't even do naturally? Like what's the point of playing him at all then? What's the point of keeping him in the first place if you have him doing stuff he isn't built to do nor has any experience or success doing? It's fuging stupid.

It doesn't matter and means nothing even if true. As bad as he's been, if he was going to be fired, it wouldn't require a meeting. He prolly would've been informed before he even got back to Charlotte... and it definitely would've leaked earlier.
-
Also hilarious - we've lost to them in consecutive seasons - last year to a lame duck coach who was inevitably getting fired and whom had a personal beef with Rhule because he tried to get the Giants to hire him instead of Judge if they'd match our offer, and now this year to a rookie HC. I just don't know how it can get any worse.
-
He looks and moved like he's 50 years older and the team is just going through the motions. That was an L as soon as they hopped off the plane. That is embarrassing to watch.

I just don't buy that Rhule is trying to turn it around here. He knew he was in over his head last season. It was rumored there were feelers put out there when USC and Oklahoma opened up last season... I think he knew then he wasn't built for the pros and was looking for a way back and fully expected to be fired. But of course, Tepper stuck with him... And I think he's been going through the motions ever since. And I also suspect it has something to do with his contract and the offset language stuff... I'm pretty sure he wants to get fired rather than quit so he can maximize his money, so it's Tepper's call. Otherwise it just makes no sense that he is in his third year, was given experienced assistants to prop him up, and he's still not shown a bit of improvement. He wants out, he just doesn't want to quit.
-
This right here is why I loathe that he was ever awarded the franchise. It really is just a flex for him. The NFL is a money-printing machine... he just wanted in the club and doesn't give a poo about the results. If he did, Rhule wouldn't have been brought back this season. If he's even half as intelligent as he is portrayed to be, he already knew wtf it was... and he still brought him back knowing it's a losing bet. But his money is made... maybe he cares about winning down the line, but he definitely doesn't right now, and the way revenues and such are setup, there's nothing that can be done to make him really feel our discontent.

I gotta think, he's getting them out the gate. It's at the point that Panthers PR can't sidestep it with their non-stop, oblivious fluff pieces and segments. The in-house production crew is gonna have a helluva time trying to avoid the angry mob, especially in-games... we heard it at pressers and stuff like st fanciest, but they're gonna have a hard time even conducting interviews and such 24/7 now until he's gone.

Did anyone think they’d miss Mr. Richardson?
Proudiddy replied to TNPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yup... agreed. And so many examples, imo, and that is likely one of the biggest... I also think the buying the former associate's home to destroy it and build a new one over it, the classy ass grab at the presser, busting Mick's balls on-air and essentially making fun of him before forcing him to retire, making the allusion to Panther fans on Twitter being "basement dwellers," the HQ debacle, etc. Oh, and the Watson pursuit happened after he swore when assuming ownership after JR'S exit that sexual assault/harassment was a zero tolerance, non-starter issue for our team moving forward. Welp... -

While all that may be Scot, I don't feel like I'm going out on a limb to assume Tepper isn't any better of a person than JR was/is. From everything I've read/seen/heard, Tepper is a dirtbag. And my assumption is, pretty much all of these owners are too that play by their own rules thanks to their money and power... the ones who have had issues is just because they got caught/called out, but they're all mostly the same. So I don't think we came out better as far as our integrity, character, values, or foundation. So if those things are equal, then what did we come out with? Just a worst team and record. -
Yeah, I know there is still time, and I always believed in DJ more, for whatever its worth. But idk, Horn just looked so much more impressive in limited looks as a rookie. To me, he looks a lot more stiff, slower, and flat-footed this season.
-
I liked both, but it's starting to look like you may be right.

That's why I don't get too heavy into the Horn vs Fields talk. What I've watched of Fields, he appears to be not much different than so many QBs who have come through and been average to bad in their careers. Why? Because for all his incredible talent and natural physical gifts, he seems to lack the in-game mental part. Just like Darnold, whom so many "experts" loved for his physical gifts and abilities, he seems to struggle with processing what he's seeing, so if the first read or two isn't there he panics. Difference is, Fields is such an incredible athlete, he's been able to make some amazing plays with his legs once he doesn't trust his eyes or arm. But, that isn't a sustainable form of offense and isn't much different than what they did with Trubisky because he had the same problem. They don't trust what they're seeing, and that's what separates the greats from the bums. I don't see Fields being an elite passer now or in the future, because it's generally something guys either have or they don't.

I've been hearing this in my head the last two Sundays...

Agreed. If they can put those sensors in the shoulder pads, there's gotta be a way to work it in the ball and goal line without affecting play.
