  1. There were literally only maybe 10 people on this board who stuck up for Cam when he was getting his head smashed in behind a AFL offensive line. trying to throw the ball to a CFL receiver unit. The people ripping him apart were the same ones laughing at everyone "overreacting" at cotchery being the answer to upgrading our reciever corps.
  2. Really, it's simple... When the only bidder is you, you aren't going to get any better. What our FO has always shied away from, and in turn, has held us back, is the fact that in order to get better you're going to have to outbid other team's for a talented player's services. That doesn't mean you have to go out and spend Mike Wallace money on a non-worthy player... But you can't immediately jump in the shallow end of the pool and call it a day. Look at it like this... If this thread was titled, "Rapoport confirms Eddie Royal in for visit," the majority considered to be "bitching" right now would be ecstatic. Eddie Royal is not T. Smith, Maclin, or even Andre job, but he's talented and if we didn't sign him, someone else will and early. Furthermore, he fills the need... Gettleman himself said we desperately need speed and would address it, he then goes out and finds possibly the slowest receiver on the market and sets up a visit on the first day.
  3. They don't hear you though. I'm starting to wonder if it's just some built-in masochistic part of our fanbase... That or they just like having a reason to scapegoat Cam every year.
  4. This is what pisses me off about gettleman. Love his drafts, but his FA decisions have left much to be desired. And if you're gonna talk about it, be about it. Don't say we're taking a step up in class and turn right around and target the fuging Equate-tier FA, looking to pay them lunch money. If you aren't gonna make a substantial move then just stfu. Now, it went from we had interest in Torrey Smith and would be a player in the receiver market to now we won't even consider second tier FA RECEIVERS LOL!!! Sound strategy. This just in: we only signed Ginn, not jerry fuging rice. And now we're out of the receiver market altogether? Wait, I mean, we are considering the second coming of Karl Hankton,so yup... Cam should be good. He sure as hell better hit on a receiver In the draft then. This is fuging ridiculous.
  5. Exactly, and that's exactly why although my chosen method of discussing these things may seem extreme, I feel it's necessary. We go through the same crap every year. You cannot keep dumpster diving on positions of extreme need and expect a different result. I complained about it last year and laughed when we signed the guys we did. I predicted our offense would be bogged down because receivers couldn't get open and our offense would suffer from just a general lack of speed, while others argued that based on numbers alone, avant and cotch would easily replace Smith and Lafell. We do it every year, I'm just hoping this off-season will be different so we won't be having this same conversation next off season.
  6. Damn, sounds like every receiver on our roster outside of Philly last season.
  7. Well, it's obvious the Niners are going to take a step back this year, but I'm referring to the last three years... The difference in success is obvious, PB. And the reason is too. Yes, those teams have their flaws, but the truth is, they have had better and sustained success compared to us. They have went further in the playoffs than us and the Niners reached the supercool and multiple nfccgs. It's because we keep dumpster diving and they wisely pick their spots and add talent where it's needed, with the priority being around their QB. My gripe with this, is the the quality of the player and the timing of it. Could be he is strictly viewed as a ST ace, but again, those guys are usually available well after the draft. It's just a headscratcher.
  8. And Boykin is our first and only confirmed interest so far...
  9. PB... WE NEED SPEED. WE NEED A GUY THAT COULD COME IN AND HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO DO JUST THAT - 1,000 YARDS AND 10 TDS. WE ALREADY HAVE A WR CORPS FULL OF BOYKINS. HE IS REDUNDANT. PEOPLE ARE REACTING SO STRONGLY FOR THAT REASON, AND THAT HE MOST LIKELY IS NOT ON ANYONE ELSE'S RADAR RIGHT NOW, AND YET, WE'RE BRINGING HIM IN ON THE FIRST DAY OF FA. LOL. THAT IS LAUGHABLE. NO ONE WAS EXPECTING US TO PULL OFF A TRADE FOR CALVIN JOHNSON, BUT WHEN THERE ARE GUYS LIKE MOORE, BRITT, STEVIE, ETC. OUT THERE, WE SHOULD BE HEARING REPORTS OF INTEREST IN THEM, NOT THIS GUY. HE WILL BE THERE IN MAY.
  10. Well you keep that mindstate and see how much it helps... People keep clowning the Niners and Colts for surrounding their qbs with talent, saying, "well look how well it worked for them." Yeah, let's do. How many championship games have we played in the last three years? How many have they? Exactly. The reason our ass got booted out of the playoffs the last two seasons was because they signed and drafted offensive talent, while we signed and drafted "young hungry guys who are eager to start," who usually lacked talent. The reason we lost to San Francisco and Seattle was because we had no offense. There was no one to spread the field. We have no speed or separation. They did. Young, hungry guys that come dirt cheap may pan out for you 1 out of 100 times, but 99 times their dropping passes and muffing punts.
  11. "Boykin had almost 700 yards two years ago, he's one step away from being all-univerzze!" ... "oh yaaah, I would love to sign cotchery! Dude had 10 tds last year herp derp! " Notice the complete absence of the role, system played in, and immensely better talent around those players with their prior team being mentioned.
  12. Aaron Rodgers and McCarthy's offense would make Bersin look like fuging Steve Largent, so no it doesn't. Wear your rose colored glasses if you want, the guy sucks. Hey keary colbert was a beast too, wasn't he?
  13. Colts and Niners, we see your Andre Johnson and Torrey Smith, and we raise you a Boykin! Take that!
  14. Norwell was an udfa and was brought in after the draft. This guy will be available after the draft too lol (unless we sign him first).
  15. Then why are we courting him on the first day of FA? He'll be available later.
  16. The only difference between he and Cotchery is age. He's slow as poo and not all that talented... He also played in a WR-friendly system in GB. And Cotch is already on a long-term deal paying him peanuts. The point of FA and the draft was to UPGRADE our WR corps, not reinforce it with lateral moves.
  17. Boykin, Bersin, and Presley should not even crack an active roster and are borderline NFL players. And you left out Philly Brown, who really shouldn't even be anymore than a situational slot or 4th WR. That is not acceptable. I really wish we would quit disrespecting our QB with this kind of crap.
  18. Again, I know it's early, but if you're gonna come out with all that "nice to be out of the dollar store," talk, and then bust the gates of free agency down on the first day by inviting the Packers' 8th WR that most Packers fans have never even heard of in for a visit, then just don't talk. This is a joke. It's the same poo we did last off season. That's how we ended up with guys like Avant and Cotchery. We do not need another slow ass possession receiver. The dude ran a 4,7 lol... We could just resign hardy and use him...
  19. What better place to bring him for support than here, with TD?
  20. Contract signing pic should be Morgan signing in full hazmat suit. First Q&A with media, Morgan asks them the question:"does this look infected?" Ayyyyyyyyooooooo!
  21. That is hilarious. Thanks for the early homecoming gift to yourself, Ted!
  22. I missed that so much... The difference is evident in all of those, but the Saints catch in particular - No one on this team last season could get that separation. Now, let's look at Britt and Denarius Moore, maybe a vet looking for a superbowl run, then add a guy in the draft to develop, and voila!
