I've grown pretty indifferent about Nicks at this point, but I will say this... Most of the guys we have signed this off-season, there was no rumors about them prior to it being officially announced. O So there's that...

Not a big loss... Was already a position of strength, but I must say, he must not have winning or playing on a team with a real QB high on the priority list.
-
They need to hurry up and get this done... I can't fap much longer.

I'm 100% serious. If we sign Jennings and sign or draft one other receiver, we will be in the Superbowl this season. I will put money on it.
-
If we do this I will cream my pants.

Yes.

In all honesty though, Ted Williams' frozen, cracked, body-less head can probably run faster than 99% of the guys we sign.

"because they're the only ones that made me an offer."

He's slow, so we might be interested.

Why Gettleman is a GM... and you aren't.

Yeah, but the idea is to also not be 4-8 every year going into the last month of the season. -
Gettleman: Oher can be answer at left tackle

Rumor: Panthers, Titans, and Eagles Contact Michael Crabtree

Lol. "we need speed." Only targets receivers with 40 times over 5.1 secs. -
I was saying 5 mil as the highest possible salary... I doubt he gets that, I think 3 mil per sounds fair. But the point remains... It's not about any one thing here, PB. It's all of the factors combined. Boykin is slow, we need speed. Boykin is a guy that will be available late in the FA game, and we have him set up for a visit on the first day. Gettleman said we would address WR through FA so that were not drafting based on need, now Voth is reporting that we're basically done with WR in FA. That is why this is so frustrating. Same poo, different year.

Can you clarify the first paragraph? Are you saying it validates them in some way? To be clear, I was saying the receivers were the worst in the league, therefore, Cam had nothing to throw to. And it's fine to be frugal, but there's a difference between being frugal and just being dumb. Like I pointed out earlier, Eddie Royal isn't going to cost more than 5 per, I'm guessing... Gentleman is the one that said you address areas of need in FA and then you fill the holes with the draft. He also said we need speed and would address that. And here we are, one day in, and Voth, who has been as accurate as any reporter out there, is saying we're essentially done with receiver. That's why people are pissed. WR has been neglected since we drafted Steve Smith... I don't count colbert or Jarrett because they were second round pick with a lot of question marks... The point being, we should've either signed a bookend or used our first round pick on a tremendously talented guy instead, but we never did, and I doubt we change that this year.

KB is a glorified Plaxico with less consistent hands right now. We need speed, preferably with size and hands. Ginn only has one of those traits. He is not the answer. We need a #2 and likely an established #3. That's where interviewing Boykin is incendiary. It's insulting. People are tired of being jerked around and having our time wasted. Barely making the playoffs each year isn't good enough. We want a superbowl. The defense is in really good shape,so we should be addressing weaknesses while maintaining that, and we're not. It's really simple... If Boykin and other receivers of his similar lack of ability are the only guys signed, let's revisit this thread in October or November and see what is over reactive. We went through the same thing last year. I promise you, it may be slightly exaggerated but not by much... If I wasn't on my phone I would pull up the cotchery thread from last year and show you. The vast majority that were being level-headed and excited at that big pickup last off season were collectively losing their poo and questioning if cam should be benched in favor of DA because he was eating grass as soon as the ball was snapped. The same people each year are saying, "calm down, their professionals. They get paid for a reason. Go play Madden, crybabies,"and only less than a handful are still riding that wave when guys like cotch are stopping on routes and tipping ints up into defenders arms while making our franchise QB look like poo.

True, but that brings the argument back to who we're signing and drafting. Why not address those positions in a concentrated effort like never before, and that way, you don't leave him picking between the lesser of dog poo versus horse poo? Instead, here we are again, with a horrible receiving corps, we sign Ted Ginn and our work is done... That's why the Colts and Niners keep getting brought up. They find bargains, they draft guys, but the bottom line is, they throughly address the positions around their QB. We haven't and that's what is so frustrating. Yes, Ron has never played the best 11 until he's forced to, but look at what he's working with in the first place.
-
Yup, all four of them.
-
Yeah I just can't understand it... You have a guy like Moore, britt, or royal who have shown ability to produce in the NFL, but we'd rather wait around and bank on a rookie/unproven commodity? Why not sign one AND draft one? It's just stupid... Maybe he's just putting that out there in hopes of it driving the market down a little? But, I doubt it...
