Mods can we get a handle on these threads???
Proudiddy replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nothing like threads whining about other threads whining. It's a message board, brosef. There's a time and place for everything. And as the old saying goes, opinions are like buttholes, and you know what they day about those lol. And to compound all of that, we are currently enveloped in the literal worst, least successful period in franchise history. As a result, there is a ton of angst, anger, embitterment, and frustration present, and there's plenty of reason for all of those feelings because of the current ownership and state of the team. So, theres gotta be space for that, just as in 2015, we had countless redundant positivity threads because it was in the air. You take the good woth the bad, within reason... -
https://www.instagram.com/p/Cxdx8NpLLgm/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Hey guys, remember the part where I was called insane and dumb for speculating that this was a soft benching and the staff using the phantom injury to save face and if Bryce still ended up playing my theory fell apart? What a crazy conspiracy, right?
-
He's definitely going to get a HC job after this season. And from what we've seen, I know 2 games is extreme, but I would rather give him the HC job here than continue with Reich and lose Evero to another team with how it currently stands.
-
Agreed. But, apparently thinking it is a reasonable deduction makes you insane or dumb for thinking so. The huddle. Gotta love it.
-
Yeah, it does fall apart if he plays. But the fact he sat out of practice with an injury that no one noticed during the game isn't the least bit suspicious? And I'm insane, even though we've seen guys mysteriously IR'd for years as our playoff window closed. And we've even heard players come out and say they weren't injured but the team (and not just our organization), designated them injured. But yeah, I'm "insane" and "dumb" for thinking they're trying to save face bc Bryce, the #1 overall pick, appears to be in over his head, is struggling, and Reich's offense and playcalling look like complete ass after assembling an all-star staff and a complete hype campaign from the offseason is going down in flames. Enjoy the kool-aid, fellas.

You win first and figure everything else out later. If he wins, he saves his job, regardless of what happens with Bryce. And this also affords Bryce a soft landing versus being benched. I don't think there's any conspiracy about it... think it's pretty clear what is happening.
-
And he will.

poo is crazy. The cerebral, super processor QB was so fuged up and in his own head that he lined up behind the guard. And now... suddenly, he suffered an ankle injury in a game he played in its entirety, in which he never showed any sign of injury, and yet, it was severe enough to hold him out of practice? Bullshit is afoot... err, or in this case an ankle.
-
Misleading title. He has the least throws TO open windows. That doesn't mean there aren't open windows. It could also mean he just isn't finding them or throwing to them, and judging from the all 22 reviews people have shared, as well as watching games, they are there, but he's not identifying them. I also concede the playcalling is shitty.
-
I'm not disagreeing that coaching is a factor in all of this, and the snap distribution and packages are fuging stupid as hell... but many have acknowledged already, there are guys open most plays, he just isn't getting it to them, or he's locking in on a guy that's not open. A true point guard knows where the open man is and gets it to them, no hesitation. They know when and where the ball has to be every play. That's what they sold Bryce as, and he's hasn't been that at all. Even with the funky snap distribution, the target distribution should be that much more varied and it's not.

It's mind boggling. Ask yourself - Have the Cards subbed Kyler out on short yardage? The Hawks or Broncos sub Russ out on short yardage? No. It's just stunning that they are so openly acknowledging how much of a liability they view him as.
-
But he made those 2 good passes, bro!
-
Yup, and that's going to prove yet another mismanaged opportunity for the FO, because Luvu earned a long-term extension after last season. We already fuged up with Burns and it's gonna prove super costly that we didn't lock Frankie up already too. Idk if others see it, but he also might be our most versatile defender - even moreso than Chinn, because Frankie is lining up everywhere - ILB, OLB/Edge, drops into coverage, blitzing up the middle and rushing from the outside like a natural edge rusher, etc. And he fuging excels at all of it. I don't ever remember seeing a guy do that for us in our entire history. It's super impressive. Frankie has quickly become my favorite player on defense and maybe the entire team... Viska is probably my favorite on offense, but our staff doesn't know how to get him the fuging ball, so he's not getting to do much right now.
-
I'd imagine that PI he committed and the deep pass he gave up to Olave that broke the game open probably played a big part in it too.
-
I also still think back to the PR Dept pushing that clip from the Jets practices where Hurst bragged about how otherworldly Bryce was in reads and field generalship. Like how tf can a vet be that far off in their evaluation of a QB?
-
Also, always a great sign when you played 3 guys across your starting guard spots and they all ended up in your bottom 5 worst performers.
-
3 things inevitable in life: Death, taxes, and CJ Henderson being in your worst performers by PFF grade every week.
-
Don't forget the buzzword, "point guard"! He's a point guard at the QB position... yet, TMJ didn't get a single touch, iirc, Chark got 1 or 2 touches, Hurst barely got the ball, I dont think Ian Thomas got a touch, he hyperfocused on Thielen in the first half then forgot about him for almost all of the second, and Viska who is probably our most dynamic, gamebreaking player on offense only got, like 3 touches max. But, SuPeR PrOcEsSoR!

The defense is a fuging wet dream. I love it. But man, I was vocal about what a lazy, uninspired, limp dick hire I thought Reich was when it happened... but then, I bought into the PR hype - the original team connections, first QB in team history, Capers, superstar coaching staff, etc. And I drank the kool-aid and just wanted to believe it was divine intervention - we were finally due for a shift in the destiny of our franchise. I wanted to be optimistic and believe that finally having a offensive-minded HC and progressive staff would give us the high-powered, aggressive offense we had always dreamt of... and then the preseason happened. Then the season started... and this poo is worse than Rhule's offenses. My initial feelings on Reich were critical, and I just felt he was underwhelming as a HC, but even in that initial take, I never ever would've imagined the poo would look this bad even if they started the 32nd best QB in the league. This poo is incredibly bad.

Give me a reason to be excited about the future of this team
Proudiddy replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I was just thinking after the game last night... had we just signed Carr or a guy like Huntley or Brissett, played the year out, we would've hovered around the Top 10 again next draft, and then could've traded up (likely wouldnt require moving up to #1 so wouldve been much cheaper) for Williams, Maye, or Sanders, etc., all coming out, all of whom I would feel way more confident about over trading up to 1 for Bryce this year, AND one of those guys could come in and sit behind the aforementioned vet options, much like Mahomes did. But nope, we had to shoot our dick off for a glorified game manager this year and give up a Top 5 WR and invaluable draft capital to do so. Again, AR, Stroud, or Hooker were all infinitely better options than Bryce translating to the pro game, so the sting would be so much less had we taken one of those other guys versus what we're seeing now. And this poo is compounded because when you trade that much and push all your chips in the table for a guy at 1, you are forced to play him whether he is ready or not, so we're stuck with at least two years of this poo. -

I have really thought about if we should change the Keep Pounding slogan to simply "Next Year." You know, because thats usually the most common phrase used here once we hit about week 8 every season. -
Derrick Brown going after Mike Thomas after the game
Proudiddy replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good. Thomas is a piece of poo. Was it against the Vikings he threw that dirty blindside block the knocked a guy out? Actually, I think he's done it a lot, and guys like that really don't give a poo about another player's health or humanity. Good on DB. If Thomas got ran over by a bus tomorrow, I would feel like the world is a better place. -
The chiefs do not do this "every" sneak play. I dont recall ever taking Cam out in a shirt yardage situation. If you're talking about when we would out him in on short yardage... well, yeah, why wouldn't you? You cite the Pats did it with Gronk there... ok, maybe for a different look, but they didn't do it every play - LOL Tom Brady is renowned for how efficient his QB Sneak was, so he was doing it plenty. Then you cite the Saints doing it with Hill. Again, didn't do it every play bc I recall the Saints converting plenty sneaks with Brees, especially against us. So, I don't know if you were just trying to be a contrarian, but again as I said, we subbed him out both times in those situations, no exceptions. And I have never seen that for a full game. So I stand by that statement. Now, perhaps they did it just as a specific look for this game, but this came after someone here even said that Reich openly said that Bryce will never sneak it. So there's that...
