How much each NFL team paid players not on their team in 2020

We'll prolly keep the torch this year after the Teddy situation is resolved lol. -
Turner/Boston admit that the refs screwed us in SB50
Proudiddy replied to Mol3m4n's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yup. And although we were getting similarly disadvantaged in SB50, a lot of these early calls actually reminded me of how the NFL jobbed us in the playoffs back in 2013 against the Niners, because the calls aimed at completely taking away our physicality so the Niners could have their way with us. I think there was a bad personal foul call on Mitchell early, some ticky-tack def holding calls, and then I remember one of the Niners took a cheap shot and one of our guys went to confront them and Boldin instigated the whole thing and they didn't throw a flag until our guy retaliated... from that point on, we played passive. That's what happened last night. As you said, it's not just taking away one team's ability to be physical, it's taking away their ability to compete altogether in a very physical sport. And coaches can yell all day, "keep playing, we can't control the refs" but when the penalties are 9 to 1 against you and of the nature they were last night, meanwhile Brady's taunting Mathieu and Mathieu's gets flagged, they're getting 2nd and 3rd chances to score off of penalties, and on defense they aren't just holding but completely piggyback riding your receivers before the ball even gets there, it gets pretty demoralizing... as a player, there's no way you feel you can play with the same intensity, because you know you're going to get called for it and your effort won't matter. It really is pathetic. -

Yup. Absolute piece of poo. The emphasis on image rather than it being about the game has resulted in a complete undercutting of any credibility the league ever had. From the destruction of the Spygate tapes, the handling of the Ray Rice situation, the blatantly bad officiating in big games, and all the other garbage that has shown Goodell has no moral compass and cares only about the bottom line, it just makes it hard to enjoy many games of consequence anymore. -
Home go CWG, drunk you're.

Well, it was obvious. The NFL goes with the best/most interest-drumming storylines. And the way they influence games is by neutering one team early to where they become more passive and fall behind. When you let one team play with maximum physicality and tell the other they can't, it makes for a dramatically different game, and one in which the team that isn't favored falls behind and and has little hope of getting back in it. It was really sad to see how this game played out tonight, but the NFL had their yes men do what they wanted done early, and that was enough. The NFL is a crooked, disgusting, absolute poo organization. -
Those early calls changed the whole complexion of the game. It's entirely possible that the Bucs would still dominate or win without the refs influence, but the officiating definitely set the tone that KC had one set of rules and the Bucs have another. The officiating has reminded me so much of how rigged SB50 was.
-
Yup, so reminiscent of SB50. The calls are so lopsided and the refs going out of their way to make sure KC can't match Bucs physicality. It completely changes the game and how it's played for each team.
-
I'm pulling for Remmers, and this isn't just on the line, but some of these plays KC may as well just line up 3 offensive linemen lol.
-
Man, the matchups with the tackles are really tough for KC.
-
So the Bucs are allowed to get piggyback rides on defense and not get called for penalties?
-
Well, I started paying more attention to officiating in "big" games ever since Superbowl 50 and how the NFL hosed us, and the trends are easy to recognize. When they have a team they prefer to win, they set the tone early and often with calls that affect how the teams feel they can play for the rest of the game... for example, they've already called unnecessary roughness on the Chiefs and multiple def holding calls so far, about halfway through the 2nd qtr. So, they set the precedent early that the Bucs can play physically, but the Chiefs can't. They also find ways to call penalties that give their favored team second chances and favorable situations. For us, in SB50, it often came after converting a big 3rd down which then gave the Broncos favorable situations where Miller and Ware could rush with their ears pinned back. Just like they called the penalty to make the Chiefs punt from their own end zone a minute ago after making a great play on the first punt... and then again, how they turned a FG into a TD not long after that.
-
Hey look, they call offsides on FG attempts in the Superbowl now!

I've told non-Panther fan friends that Tempers got a really bad wrap. He was not an all-pro, wasn't great, but he was solid, and sometimes that's good enough... we've never been able to fill both tackles spots since we let him go and Oher was forced into retirement. And I never blamed him for that Superbowl... he and Oher were facing two HOF pass rushers and our team had to play thr Broncos and the NFL, all while having an incompetent coaching staff who either didn't make adjustments or didn't and couldn't enforce adjustments if there were any made. We would've had to overcome incredible odds to win despite all of that... I'm always gonna be sour about that game.

I honestly would like to see him go to Chicago and see if a fresh start there would help him (and them).

I was looking for the clip, and couldn't find it. Not surprised... If CMC is currently viewed as the face of the franchise, I'm pretty sure he is in the know of what's going on and what we plan on doing. He's just disassociating himself from Teddy in advance. -
Can't get much dumber than that. Kirk is a Top 15 QB at his best and clearly showed who the better QB was between the two when we played them this season. But, I have absolutely no issue if they want to take Teddy off of our hands, in fact, I would love for them to.
-
Yup, I loved making UNC, ECU, A&T, App St., and out of respect to my hometown, Fayetteville State (lol), national powerhouses. But, EA is horrible. I'm sure they'll find a way to destroy this franchise like they have Madden while making it filled with microtransactions.

How close did the Panthers come to getting Stafford? Dang close.

Oh, me either, and I agree... throughout our history one of the biggest reasons for our inconsistency and struggles has been due to that issue. So this is both refreshing and welcome. But, I also find it interesting that we're so openly flaunting our interest in moving on at the most important position on a football team... I mean, everyone knows how I feel about the Teddy Debacle, but still... it is interesting seeing it play out as it is.
