Season is over and all hope is lost. I expect us to lose every week from now on. I'll be surprised of we dont.

I know La Canfora has questionable credibility, but this is exactly what I see going on from the outside. One day a trade is imminent. The next, ehhh, maybe at the deadline. One day we're the favorite. The next, it's Miami. One day Miami is out and decided they like Tua. The next, they're back in and they're the favorite and we're out. I don't believe any of it until something is done in ink. It's a lot of posturing and maneuvering going on with agents and teams trying to drive up the price and/or will Watson to a specific team. I think we're still in it, but I think this was to call Houston bluff, as I think they were trying to use us to up the bids. I think it's entirely possible Miami hasn't budged on theirs in weeks and Verge even stated we had the better offer... and now Florio is still saying it's not even known if Watson had or had not waived his trade clause for us. So, it seems Houston is scrambling to try to get more than what they've been offered because the market is limited and teams bidding know they have very little leverage, and we are telling them, "Remember you have no leverage. Call us if you come to your senses."

So better than Darnold?

Not that I am in denial, but I also wondered if the initial report that we're "out" is part of a bigger game of chess. As in, maybe we aren't actually out, but playing a game of leverage... I think the Texans have been putting stuff out to up the bids, and I think this could be a counter to that. I also always found it curious that in every other big deal we have completed, there was absolutely ZERO rumors connecting us to them until they happened. Fitt seems to like to move in silence. So, the fact that we had these reports openly linking us to the deal never sat right with me, as our FO appears to be able to keep stuff pretty close to the vetlst while they're working it... again, it makes me think this is something else. I think the Texans have been pushing a lot of the news out there over the last week to up the ante.

I know, but my point is, if he happens to last until then... because I don't trust him or any of the other guys that were projected as the top QBs of this class in the first round. If another team wants to take that gamble, have at it, but I prefer we didnt.

Yeah, the QB class for this upcoming draft has turned to poo. I might would take a chance on Howell in the 2nd or later, but we definitely need to invest heavily in the OL.

The latest tweets @Mage posted are not saying that. It sounds more like we backed out until his legal stuff is settled.

The latest stuff from those in the know say he didn't choose the Dolphins over us. It's saying we backed out, and I think the implication is, the Dolphins were actively pursuing him and he had already waived his clause for them.

Just another smoking car to throw on top of the mounting carnage of a trainwreck this season has become. If we look dysfunctional now, imagine it leaking out which stars we offered up in the deal. It will make Darnold continuing to play every week after last week's debacle look like nothing.

NGL, I think my interest in watching the rest of this season just completely flamed out with this news. Darnold and Brady fuging suck, and after their showing the last 3 weeks, especially last week, there is absolutely no hope. This blows. Maybe we can get Minshew for a ham sandwich. What is Vinny Testaverde doing now?

I'm really starting to hate Rhule.

Welp, although it would have been dramatic (and possibly traumatic) to acquire him, it was the only thing that gave me hope and excitement for our future - because again, if you are a QB away, you are a team away. And we are a QB away, and likely staring down the barrel of 1 or 2 wins out of the remaining schedule with Darnold at the helm. And as much as I like PJ for what he is, he won't be able to do much better with this trainwreck. Also, I hope we didn't back out due to the PR hit. Again, if he really targeted and assaulted women he is an absolute piece of poo, but if it happened to be consensual and this was just drummed up by McNair's shitbag self with his lawyer friend to dig up dirt on a weird kink/fetish to tank his value, then I will be fuging pissed. Oh, and we better not trade any other picks for QBs if we're out on Watson. fug Tua's sorry ass. Just tank the season.

Damn. I've been tough on Brady, and for good reasons, and consider myself fairly aware and astute when watching plays and the concepts they're attempting, but I did not see DJ until you just pointed that out. Live, Darnold's decision and pass was just so fuging bad, I didnt see anything but a clusterfug and had no idea what he was looking at, and that was all I was fixated on. But, seeing this play, and a few others like it, much like Teddy missing DJ for countless wide-open yards and TDs last season, it appears our QBs for two consecutive years aversion to throwing deep has severely hindered our offense... and this version with Sam is even worse because although he and Teddy share the deep ball aversion, Sam lacks the efficiency that Teddy had going for him on everything intermediate and underneath. That's the longhand version of saying, "this guy sucks." All that being said, I still see a lot of red flags with Brady's offense and playcalling, but seeing this and similar plays, it really illuminates that this is the perfect storm for complementary poo play offensively... sometimes the call is there, and its the perfect call, but we don't have the right guy pulling the trigger. Then on other plays, the call sucks, and the players are doomed from the start.
