  1. While that's a lot, it isn't nearly as historic as I thought it would be. Also, I think the real headline here should be that out of all the passes Sam threw, only 25 were deemed catchable.
  2. I'm somewhere in the middle... I didnt want him at all as our coach, mainly because I was not impressed by the college program building rah-rah type stuff, and as you said, he never really won anything meaningful. I wasn't impressed. But then when we hired him and the reports about wanting to be heavy on analytics, science, player health/recovery, and his watching his opening presser, I felt like he was super charismatic and could be the perfect man for the job. Well, I have serious doubts about all of that, and I'm starting to feel like gets a used car salesman and I just got sold a lemon.
  3. Yeah, I used to look forward to his pressers and hearing him speak. I'm tired of it. Less talking, show me. Also, announcing your plans to the rest of the league before doing it when every week they blame our problems on execution probably isn't the brightest move either.
  4. Nice. And its gonna keep happening as long as we keep welcoming opposing fans to take over our stadium.
  5. Ahh, now we have reached the stage of this interaction where you parrot what I've already said. I think we're done here, Jorgie.
  6. Well, I guess it's a matter of interpretation, but I agree he did delegate the blame to the coordinators more, but I was referring to him responding with a lot of "maybe" open-ended answers and having no explanation for certain things that have been an issue. But he looked more frazzled and less confident than I have ever seen him... he also resorted back to a lot of "we just have to execute better," which is a cop out.
  7. I agree the defense isn't what we thought it was, and it appears to be getting worse with each passing week. And I didn't mean that last 4th qtr drive had them winded, I was saying they were on the field that drive and then immediately in OT after having been on the field almost the entirety of the second half outside of our last offensive drive. So, I do think that had an effect. But, it's besting a dead horse. The whole team sucked ass today, outside of special teams
  8. I believe in giving them the freedom to demonstrate how stupid they truly are.
  9. If saying you comparing my mother's genitalia to a hot pocket and calling it a "cooter" in the process is your definition of "besting," then sure.
  10. Just watching his presser, some key points: •They went uptempo and we hadn't seen a lot of that on tape before playing them •We ran 8 man fronts throughout the day and they're not supposed to be able to run on those (his words), and they did anyway •Maybe we need to run more uptempo on offense •We need to find out who we are offensively and find out who our core is and what is our identity •Basically said the difference in our offense from the vast majority of the day and that last drive was guys making unbelievable plays (specifically Sam to Ian on the 4th and 10) The tone and mannerisms of everything he's saying is sprinkled with confusion and self-doubt. And acknowledging we don't know who we are offensively while also questioning aloud whether we need to run uptempo offense because it seems we're getting more production out of it seems like someone who has no idea what is going on, especially on that side of the ball. He sees what's working, but we still don't do it until we have to. Also, publicly admitting that we hadn't seen much of a certain look on film for the third week in a row is very telling. So, if a team does something even slightly different from what we've studied, they exponentially increase their chances of beating us because he's acknowledging we don't know how to counter it if we didn't prepare for it. And the difference between good offense and bad offense is guys having to make ubelievable plays. This is pathetic. He really seemed to be actively searching for answers he didn't have with each question. The silver lining appears to be he is now admitting Sam needs a ton of help to win (and not from the OL, but specifically from guys making plays), Brady and the offense have no identity or rhythm, and Sam can't turn the ball over... so hopefully, Brady and Darnold are on a much shorter leash from here on.
  11. A stat line Sam can't even achieve in his wildest dreams.
  12. TBH, I think his frame. Plain and simple. He exerts so much speed, effort, and explosion to get there, he overruns them and doesn't have the weight or sturdiness to stick to the QB once he has his hands on him. It sucks, and I love him and his potential as a player, but I've accepted it's who he is at this point.
  13. While the coaching has been exposed as subpar, I don't care who is coaching him, Darnold is not a starting NFL QB. He and Blaine Gabbert are the same guy.
  14. Again, I agree they had to have been bad all day to give up 500+ yards of offense and the points we gave up, but that OT drive they absolutely were gassed. They had just been on the field for the last drive before the missed FG and then came right back and had to stop them on the first possession of OT. And that was after having had to be on the field almost the entirety of the 2nd half because the offense couldn't sustain a drive until the last one of the game. I do believe as much as there is invested on that side, they have to make a play and get us off the field at some point, but there is no form of complementary football on the other side of the ball whatsoever.
  15. Ahh yes, "cooter." I remember 3rd grade well. Enjoy your Capri Sun.
  16. I can't agree with the receivers route running. Yes the OL is really bad, but they Brady isn't calling anything to challenge the defense. Those route combos and concepts are elementary at best. Even look at what the Vikings started doing with Osborn as the game went on. They weren't getting any production one on one against Taylor, so they started lining them up in trips and doubles and then ran drags across the field where Taylor had to run through traffic and couldn't man his guy up, so he ends up chasing the play. We do nothing like that, and when we do, Sam doesn't believe what he's seeing and either elects to run or holds the ball until he's sacked. The playcalling is abysmal and Brady is feeding into Darnold's weaknesses with it, but as I stated, Darnold is bad even when he has time. That last drive was a bit of luck and an aberration because he isn't willing to take those shots until he is forced to.
  17. And also, thank you for this thread, Zod. If I say it, my reactionary, emotional posting history undermines my credibility, and thats fine... but, it should be fairly obvious that Sam needs to sit. Like I said in the game thread, if we're just gonna chuck it deep and have the QB scrambling every play, we may as well put PJ in because he's better at doing both.
  18. But what people aren't acknowledging is even if you account for the drops, Sam barely completed 50% of his passes and resorted to running for most of the game because he was scared to throw. And for weeks it's been the OL's fault, and yes, they are horrible, but look at what Sam does when he has time. The first drive of the game and he hadn't been pressured at all. He had forever to throw it and STILL threw a pick with good protection. There are no excuses. He is bad and needs to sit.
  19. Thank you for clarifying. My apologies if my post seemed hostile or aggressive. I know I'm viewed as a reactionary, and I acknowledge I do wear my heart on my sleeve, but I also know I'm knowledgeable on the sport and our team. I hate losing. Period. I just assumed because you posted it here, I was the target of your complaints. So again, my apologies.
  20. But are they as hot as those hot pockets?
  21. The defense is stumbling badly, but we literally started the game with a pick putting them either in the RZ or right outside of it. The offense can't sustain drives and haven't been for the last 3 weeks and every second half outside of Houston before that. The defense can't play to our strengths when the opposing offense has control of the game. Period.
  22. And tell me where I've been wrong on these notably "dramatic" predictions and proclamations. The things the "soft, dramatic" fans have been bemoaning about for years are the same issues that keep costing us games, yet we/they don't know what they're talking about? I haven't been, and if I was, I would admit it. The team is trending downward, so is the coaching staff, and Darnold has been bad. That's where we are. I don't see a sudden shift in the right direction. The offense is outright dysfunctional and the defense has been either figured out or broken. But no worries, we should just be grateful that the NFL gave us a cute little team to call our own down here. It's a fun social event where we can barely show up, sit in our seats and get bullied by opposing fans when we do show up, and then just dismissively state "it's a rebuilding year" or "there's always next year" when we lose, so we don't have to acknowledge that expecting to win every year is an acceptable expectation.
