This. I genuinely hope this is real. I know it will be hard for Rhule to admit he was wrong, but if he can, all of his problems can be fixed in the dash of a pen. I hope we can mend the damage that was done and get Cam back in here. This is where he always belonged. I hope the team is sincere and Cam will hear them out... I also think its interestingly worded about who will meet with him, because if it's genuine interest, I imagine Tepper is going to be there.

The point being that Teddy looked underwhelming in the same system. The skill players could rack up all the yards after the catch because Teddy is accurate and quick to get the ball out to the open read, so they got tons of YAC. But, as you pointed out he couldn't stretch the field either. And even with Teddy, the offense was abysmal in the redzone and goal to go situations. Brady and Rhule tried to pin the offensive struggles on Teddy, while Teddy pointed out their shortcomings, which many felt was just sour grapes at the time. If Teddy looked subpar in this system, and Darnold went from bad to possibly the worst QB to ever play in the NFL in the same system, then the problem is the system and the coaching implementing it.

Wednesday press confernce - Darnold out 4 weeks. IR likely.

I've read and heard that was possibly part of moving on from Cam as well, but I just don't see it. Tepper had one of the most popular, marketable players in the league and a guy, in a former league MVP, who was beloved by the fanbase. Additionally, Tepper was very involved with Cam and his foundation and events he held while they were here together... the move sway from him seemed abrupt and coincided with Rhule's hire. Tepper, unsolicited, also alluded to getting Cam back here to be honored at Greg and TD's ceremony. So, I have to believe it was Rhule. -
Not at all... we should definitely fire Brady, because even with a guy who is capable of quick processing and smart decision-making in Teddy, looked like poo last year in Brady's system. As I said in another thread and many times over the years... great coaches make good players great players, and bad coaches make good players bad players. Brady is 1.5 years in, and he isn't making his players better in either season so far.

Yup, and thats what is so fascinating about his ego to me. This isn't Temple or Baylor, bro... This is pro football and the name of the game is winning and profits. So, the part that is really intriguing to me is, I assume Tepper only acquiesced to Cam's release as part of the "giving full control" to Rhule and believing in his plan to rebuild the team. But, now, seeing what is happening on the field, as well as in the stands every Sunday, I can't help buy think Tepper is sitting there internally raging because he knows Cam would fix both problems, but the coach he handed the keys to won't have his ego trampled upon. -
Was telling a non-Panther-fan friend about his struggles recently, and mentioned how now, even when he scrambles and completely gets away from the pressure, he'll still elect to run it for a short gain over throwing it to a playmaker like DJ who comes open to the side he is scrambling on, just so he won't have to throw it. He plays scared, and it has nothing to do with pressure... he doesn't trust what he's seeing or doing on any given play. When in the pocket, he can't read the defense or process it well enough to be sure of the throw he needs to make, and it is just as evident even when he gets out of the pocket. There is no fixing that. If guys don't have the mental aspect of QBing, they aren't ever going to succeed, no matter who the coach is or the personnel around them.

We should've hired the Rooneys as consultants.

I watched quite a few of their games too, and yes, he threw quite a few of those passes, but he was also throwing to fuging practice squad players all year behind a shell of their usual OL, and he still outproduced our QB who had a plethora of weapons. And honestly, I don't listen to poo Pats fans have to say... most of them didn't want him to begin with. Boston/NE is one of the most racist areas in the country, and you pair that with him having to be the first guy to step in after Brady and he was setup for failure from the beginning. It didn't matter what he did, they did not want him and were looking for their more picturesque replacement as soon as it was available. Also, he looked good earlier in the season against Seattle. So it wasn't just one game. He really only struggled once he got covid and came back... He still is capable of flashes of 2015, but I just don't know if he can consistently sustain it for a full season. Regardless, even in his down games, he is a million times better than what we've fielded since he was released and he's still capable of averaging out to a Top 15 QB not even counting the running production.

People can say what they want, but the reason Cam isn't here to begin with is Rhule. The QB stuff has very little to do with Fitt. Rhule is the one who said he couldn't wait to coach Cam and then got rid of him, vouched for and wanted both Teddy and Sam, and he's the one who brought Brady in and is overseeing this whole clusterfug that we call an offense. It all starts and ends with Rhule... and he can't and won't bring in Cam because it would be him admitting he wasn't right to move on from him in the first place. And from Cam's perspective, would you trust to sign back with this coaching staff after all that bullshit they pulled last offseason before releasing him (see above: "can't wait to coach Cam")? It would be absolutely exhilarating if we were able to sign him and bring him back though. I know the odds are all but zero, but it would re-energize the fanbase and would definitely give this team a shot to make a run in the playoffs. I could see Cam accepting the opportunity if presented, but I just don't see Rhule admitting he was wrong and even approaching Cam to come back. And shout out to the reporter that asked it, especially in that fashion. -
Might want to check out that Texans game.

Funny enough, I just ran into Brian St. Pierre at Applebee's and he said the same thing

I'm an OG here. Been here since 2004 and been a Panther fan since day 1. How about you? People are bringing Cam up because all these soft ass retreads they keep trying to hand the position to suck ass. Cam alone would generate more offense just from running. And the struggles at QB are a constant reminder that this staff aren't very good at their jobs because they willingly turned a position that wasn't a problem when healthy into a problem and they can't fix it. Stick to trolling, because football clearly isn't your thing.

Darnold Fractured Scapula on throwing shoulder
Proudiddy replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yup. And in hindsight, I did remember seeing Sam one time during the game and his shoulder pads looked uneven to me, like one side was drooped. That little blurb you posted right there is scary knowing the kind of hit that happened and the injuries he suffered and then for them to not practice him fully all week, give PJ the full starters reps and then still trot Sam out there? That is just asinine. And then for him to start struggling like he was, and you still leave him out there knowing he has that injury which could be causing it? This just doesn't even seem real. -
I'm not as down on PJ as others. He'd always had the best arm on the roster since he's been here, and has also always been the most athletic QB we have as well considering his elusiveness and scrambling/playmaking ability. The only consistent issue I've seen with him is his decision making, especially in the redzone, and that is a HUGE issue, but as a result of coaching, or more like a lack of it, that has been an issue for every QB here the last two years - which is why I thought he should've been starting. So, here's to hoping he can chuck some deep bombs for TDs.

Darnold Fractured Scapula on throwing shoulder
Proudiddy replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed. I'd have to go back and watch to be sure again, but I'm not sure I want to subject myself to it lol, but just from memory, I do not remember Sam taking any hits in the pocket, nor do I remember him reacting like he suffered an acute injury at any point. I dont remember him having to pick himself up off the ground at any point like in every other game this season. So, that would lead me to believe he suffered this fracture from the hit in Atlanta. Gross negligence adn incompetence from the staff and coaches. And this is why you don't allow a first time HC to being along all of his college buddies on the staff with zero NFL lifers to help along the way. This staff is just fuging up at every turn and the medical staff is looking at a potential lawsuit. -
Even more disgusting is the fact that he took this offer to the Giants and tried to get them to match it before accepting our offer because he didn't want to be here anyway.

Darnold Fractured Scapula on throwing shoulder
Proudiddy replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Everyone knows how I feel about Sam, but that's irrelevant here... this coaching staff is a fuging joke, and the medical staff appears to be equally incompetent. Dude was already struggling and you send him out there like that? Rhule had to have completely lost the locker room already. This was some fuging amateur poo if I've ever heard or seen any... just dumb, dumb, dumb poo. Get better soon, Sam. And thanks for the effort. Sorry you and the rest of the roster are stuck with these con men. -
Wait... we released Clay, too? I just saw the OL guys put on IR and waiving Freeman. Wow. Not that he was great or anything, just didn't see it.

As I mentioned in my reply to mav, I wouldn't expect news of it to come from our staff... I would expect we would've heard it reported though. But, I agree, if I was Cam I wouldn't come back here with this staff.
