Just wanted to post... I love Fitt, and he is building something special and has us moving in the right direction. But Brandon Beane is so fuging good, bro. They are killing it every draft.
-
We honestly need to just go ahead and pay him to go away for the year and trade a 6th for Baker or sign Cam back. Showcasing Darnold is the equivalent to having an open house at a condemned crack den. No one else is getting fooled by his sorry ass. Hopefully, he's either going to be on the bench or at home come week 1.
-
Fits the mold. Dang it... was hoping we'd get him.

Can we get a Fitt laser eyes pic in here?
-
Yup, I think so too. As Fitt said, we were looking for quality this draft, not quantity.

Round 4 Pick 120: Brandon Smith, LB, Penn State
Proudiddy replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pinned. Thanks Icege. Was gathering the details to try to post it, but you already had everything. Much appreciated. Funny enough, watching him, he looks a lot like Chinn, but I can see some Micah Parsons-lite in there, too. Really like the pick. -
That is awesome. "I feel like I'm a fan in here stealing all of this stuff." What an awesome feeling. Happy for Ickey, and happy for us.

Round 3 Pick 94: Panthers Select Matt Corral - QB Ole Miss
Proudiddy replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I haven't got to see his interview yet, but I read the transcript, and yeah, it seemed like the same thing there... and again, watching the pressers both nights so far, Rhule just seems out of place. It's clear there has been a HUGE shift. -
Round 3 Pick 94: Panthers Select Matt Corral - QB Ole Miss

Yup. I sensed that too. Very awkward moment. -
I'd like to get the DB from UTSA, because at this point you're drafting for traits and physicals to see if you can develop their skills and make them into high-level players. Also, Williams, the DB from Fayetteville - gotta look out for my hometown brethren. Outside of those, our actual needs? MLB, TE, Edge in no particular order.

Yeah it had to do more with Sam than Matt. He just said more than he meant to reveal... they also unintentionally admitted that they had a first round grade on Corral. When they were first asked about it, they tried to be coy and talk around where they had him graded. When asked again, they both said they would've taken him "early." Then Rhule went further and said they had a first round grade on him. As high of stakes as these jobs are, they wouldn't have traded up for a guy they have graded as a first rounder, in the third round, only to think they just completely blew that trade and he'll be a bum.

Round 3 Pick 94: Panthers Select Matt Corral - QB Ole Miss

He also conveniently ignored guys like Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson. As far as his disposition, he looked even worse yesterday. I honestly think its because his role has been minimized and he's been relegated to being just a hood ornament at this point. I figure its because its had to have been a pretty big shot to the old ego to have gone from complete control over everything to having minimal input in everything as your job hangs by a thread. In both pressers, its clear Scott is in the driver seat and is commanding the room. Rhule is just there and even the reporters seem to sense it because when they address them, it tends to be directed to Scott first. -
Love Corral's release and arm, and grit. Reminds me a bit of Jake. But man, his frame really scares me... Regardless of my alma mater, I think I favored Howell because he's got a sturdier frame and ran a more pro-style offense. But hey, we got a rookie QB with some good traits. Again, the frame and durability scares the poo out of me, but he has some skills that can translate and are exciting, and huge potential. Hope he works out and comes in and surprises immediately. And hey, I'm willing to bet even now that he's better than Darnold.
-
Woooooow. It was Corral?
-
We traded a 3rd for a 3rd? NE did us a solid right there. As much as I hate them as an org, I love them as a trade partner.
-
No doubt! I'm good, brother!
-
Gonna be hilarious if we take Corral instead. but I'm sure it Howell. We seem to be pushing the hometeam stuff this year. I had a feeling when I saw NE up there that that was gonna be our trade partner bc of the previous connections between our FOs and their penchant for trading back. Curious what we gave up?

We just got in at pick 94.
-
I respect your take... but what disagree in that he could have been that here, had we not married ourselves to a horrible coach who is only interested in win-quick schemes to save his job.
-
I'm not angry lol. I'm just defending my opinion that I think Willis will be a solid pro versus people who think he's not an NFL QB at all.
-
You got the wrong guy. Like I said, let's go back and read posts from the 2011 draft, or 2012. My track record speaks for itself. And to be clear, I didnt say Malik will be all-world. I said he will start in Tennessee and he will win games there, in contrast to many here saying he will be a complete washout. Which again, is interesting, considering a lot of these same people thought Darnold would turn it around here.
-
I won't disagree with that point. I made the same point about Pickett with PItt. I didnt want Pickett at any point in the draft... but, part of it is because we are who we are, and they are who they are... it makes a difference.
-
Have at it. Idgaf. This majority of this fanbase has a horrible history in evaluating QBs. Maybe we should go back and read through the 2011 draft posts? I stand on mine.
-
I want people to remember all the poo they talked about Willis when he's starting for Tennessee and winning in the next year or so.
