Panthers requesting interview with Jim Bob Cooter for OC
kass replied to TheWiz's topic in Carolina Panthers
At the age of 25... What was the aftermath? -
Seen some articles that Falcons are monitoring the Wilks Panthers situation and might be interested in him for DC. I just wonder would Panthers get a compensatory pick if that would happen?
-
Wilks used the words, leader of people, when addressing that quote on his press conference. That's a leader of men. The Steichen clip is meh. Can't tell from that alone. The stereotype of an American coach is to yell alot and being loud. That's not impressive. Not in most cases and for different reasons. But for some it works. I say this despite that Wilks is not my favorite option and I think Steichen is a more interesting candidate. But not sure how my list of candidates look like.

Panthers receive permission to interview Sean Payton
kass replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
So you are no in favor of being part of every deal and driving up the price as some form of trolling and wasting time that could be used improving the team. Weird. Sounds like you might agree with me. -
Vic Fangio have been doing some consulting for the Eagles defence this season. Does that count as a connection with Steichen?

Panthers receive permission to interview Sean Payton
kass replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why would the Panthers want that to happen!?!?!!? -
@Icege (I think I tagged the right person) added that new rules require 1 minority candidate to be interviewed regarding coordinator roles. So if they find their HC he could quickly assemble his staff. Other have mentioned connections with Fitterer, Morgan and Dorsey.

So the same will happen for the OC position. Probably sooner than later.

Beating the Saints cost us 1 draft slot after all
kass replied to Peon Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
Actually it cost more than 1 spot. It cost the team TEN TIMES as many draft spots!!!!!!!!111 Missed opportunities-> current draft pick 1st 8-> 9 2nd 39 -> 40 4th 109 -> 114 5th 143 ->146 Sure, missing out spot 8 to 9... but there would be about 4-5 teams that need a QB before that 8 pick anyway. Could the Herbert situation play out again, yes, and then people can complain. But to complain now, when the win had this little affect on the whole draft pick order . (Please correct me about the draft picks if I might be wrong).. -
If you want to get the #1 pick from the Bears, what's your move?
kass replied to EgoDogg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yesterdays win made the Panthers drop 1 spot in each of the two first rounds. And 5 in the fourth.. and 3 in the fifth.... From to. 8-> 9 39 -> 40 109 -> 114 143 ->146 Or am I wrong, gladly correct me. -
Multiple times.

Have Wilks been asked about him after the first press conference as the interim coach?

Brock Purdy and why we don't need to draft a 1st round QB
kass replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
They did, and it was a trade up from hm second round so they actually kept their original 1st. -
Scott Fowler interview with Matt Rhule ‘fans sealed his fare’

"Got paid. Jokes on you" -
Its a no brainer. Either if Darnold is kept as a backup next season, developing him is a good thing. If he is not retained, the bugger contract he gets elsewhere, the better for Panthers when compensatory picks are handed out after next years free agency. (Same with Baker, he should also get 1-2 more games).
-
With the first pick in the 2nd round I would assume Fitterer will try trade back. Once, maybe twice if it stays within pick 50-55. Unless there is a player they have as a first round grade on, (top 16-18 player). The impact of a WR in the second round havent been great. Not sure its better at other positions, but I rather pick at another position and sign a journey man that is proven to be average/ok.

Tepper is supposed to have a press conference at 345pm

David Tepper Live Press Conference (panthers.com) -
Link goes to paywall, but it is this one. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article239072273.html

Hope he got fined. Horrible.
-
And according to ESPN and NFL he had 29 run attempts and 132 yards which gives an average of 4.6. Of these, 8 led to a first down, almost 28%. https://www.nfl.com/players/laviska-shenault-jr/stats/career (Have I missed anything? )
-
He stopped participate fully in training after the Philly game which was a few weeks before the Steelers game. So the problem was already there. He should probably never had started the season and taken a year off. Done more rehabilitation or an earlier procedure of cleaning that scar tissue or whatever he did later.

Anyone know how many female scouts there are in the league? @Mr. Scot
-
Well I don't even want to move him there for one snap. We have one WR that are consistent, let's use him wise. There are two RB on the roster not mentioned here, anyone know their traits?
-
Haven't Rhule (or was it Fitterer?) mentioned that DJ Moore is versatile and can run the ball also? I think it was related to a question before or after the draft regarding adding more competition for the RB spots. So there is the answer I think... This is a good topic. Are there any other RB signed to the 90 roster beside those already mentioned in the first post?
