  1. I just love the fact that after one infra-squad PRACTICE between the Panthers and Jets…and the media is saying that Aaron Rodgers and the NY Jets are borderline panicking. Their OL must’ve been really bad yesterday because according to ESPN they got straight worked by our brand new 3-4 Defense. That plus everyone (both sides) raving about Bryce Young in a practice…feels good to be on this side of the hype (even if it was more about the Jets weaknesses than our strengths!)
  2. Wemby actually made a 4-point play tonight (highly questionable foul call against Kai IMO), and finished with 9 total points for the game. 5 points outside of that one play. And he played big/key minutes. Generational talent until the next one next year. I like the kid’s upside, but even Zion dominated instantly.
  3. 5:47 is where the Spurs GM is on camera gushing over Wemby. And then Kai Jones absolutely posterizes Wemby while the GM’s talking lol. And then right after that, Brandon Miller gets a steal and a nasty fast-break tomahawk in traffic.
  4. Here are the highlights. Announcers obviously hyped Wemby up early-on but Miller more than held his own, probably won the head to head. His D was pretty nice on the 7-3 dude. Wemby got some highlight blocks. Highlights
  5. Bouk is playing for his career. Going all-out to desperately make a splash. And can’t make a shot. Third year lottery pick struggling in summer league against rooks? I doubt he’s a Hornet this year. Now Kai Jones? Whole different story. He’s shining and will impact this year. We definitely have some talent on this roster.
  6. Miller and Wemby played quite a lot head to head tonight. I liked the defense and offense for B-Mil against a 7’3 dude. One play Miller did a double crossover on Wemby, broke his ankles and Wemby fell to the floor for an easy 2. And that poster dunk from Kai on Wemby was legit. Miller: 16 pts/ 11 rbs / 5-15 shooting Wemby: 9pts / 8 rbs / 2-13 shooting Both looked like they need work but the upside is there for both 19 year olds. I like our young guy. Bouknight not so much.
  7. And now Miller just double-crosses Wemby and breaks his ankles lol.
  8. There are at least three Sportscenter Top-10 highlights in this game. 1.) Wemby posterized by Kai dunking on him. B-Miller with that fast-break tomahawk jam (I didn’t think he could/would dunk that, wow). And a couple of Wemby highlights. Entertaining watch for sure.
  9. Thing about Brandon Miller too is he doesn’t just shoot a high 3P percentage, dude has RANGE. Like he takes and makes threes easily from 3-5 feet behind the 3P line. Watch his form. He shoots quick and from eye level like Steph, but is 6’9. And he plays D at multiple positions. That’s the new NBA, IMO.
  10. Miller hit three 3’s in a row and then made some acrobatic Ja Morant-like AND-1 reverse scoop layup. Solid finish for him, embarrassing team effort. Loved seeing Justin Robinson out there, he’s a dog.
  11. I’m pretty sure I know a lot about this topiic (more than most), Charlotte has a ton of expiring contracts and picks and can make a lot of deals work.
  12. You guys make this board exhausting to read, that’s why I never post. Lol Brandon Ingram / Zion Williamson and #16 isn’t worth Brandon Miller and his issues. I’m a Hornets fan and I hope it works out but damn; these message board fans are worse than our front office.
  13. Portland really wanted Scoot at #3. If Charlotte just drafts Scoot at #2, what happens? CLT preferred BM and others preferred Scoot. Obvious trade-down #2 to #3 scenario.
  14. They just drafted the rookie you’re talking about at the same position as their star player you’re taking about. WOW! Is right.
  15. I agree with what you say/. It’s what I also said. If you’re Charlotte and you want Miller and you have #2 and Portland wants Scoot and you can trade down to #3…it’s kinda a win-win. And Charlotte gets additional assets trading down…that’s the smart move.
  16. Exactly. Dame’s time in Portland is over now. They had to make a huge move and CLT had the assets to make it happen. Now it’s over. But if CLT took Scoot it would have been even more in our favor. This roster needs a major rebuild, not just drafting a 19 year old.
  17. If Portland at #3 and New Orleans at #15 really want Scoot and you (Hornets) don’t want him at #2 but love Miller? You can’t figure out a deal? What are we talking about.
  18. Portland wanted Scoot BAD at #3. Either that or a trade for vets and pics. Hornets could’ve jumped on that leverage but they didn’t. Is what it is, but CLT could have done far better today. And I like and will support Miller.
  19. I read this board, never post. You’re a known troll, I’m just posting the day of the draft. I didn’t think the Blazers were trading up for Scoot. That’s the whole point. They weren’t because the Hornets made it known we were drafting Miller. It’s horrible Poker / FF game…Hornets have never had a game-face. We always tell our hand even when we can make major moves.
  20. What are *you* talking about? Portland and New Orleans absolutely wanted Scoot (Portland rejected significant Pelican offers) and the Hornets saying they loved Miller over Scoot. So then just make a trade with either!!!! Hornets prefer Miller, cool. Two or more teams prefer Scoot, cool. Hornets have the highest pick to get either. It’s not rocket science for the team with the #2 (Hornets) to trade down to #3 (Portland) and get their guy (Miller) and also another pick or player. Some of the fans in this forum (you) are just hilarious to me. Hornets played this poker game wrong publicly. We agree.
  21. Portland and New Orleans alone were hell-bent on Scoot. If Portland had to draft Miller, Dame Lillard was gone in Portland (probably still is). Why not create a bidding war in Charlotte for #2? If you can still get Miller along with *anything*, why not trade down 1 spot? It’s stupidity.
  22. Once again, not about Miller vs Scoot in my opinion. Teams were willing to trade assets for Scoot. Hornets missed an opportunity to make a big splash.
  23. Then why were the Pelicans so hard on moving up for him? And the Blazers were fine staying at #3? Even if we preferred Miller (I did), not trading down one spot for literally ANYTHING is just really bad.
  24. Regardless of BPA or “fit”, we missed a chance to acquire more assets in addition to Miller. That’s disappointing. If you can’t convince Portland to move up 1 spot when they like the guy you don’t prefer…that’s pathetic. #2 for #3 and a 2nd? A future pick to move up? Our #2 and our #27 for one of your good contracts and #3? The average fantasy football amateur knows these moves. Give me SOMETHING/ANYTHING and you can lock your guy in. Otherwise we’ll draft Scoot and see what the Pelicans offer. Or we’lll just stick with Scoot. To me, it’s not about the players themselves or the fits as much as it is the miss in optimizing the overall value of this pick. Hopefully this all works out for CLT and Miller. I’m a fan now and rooting for him. But damn.
