I saw Dan Morgan quoted a Taylor Swift song and then Burns liked one of her posts. 99.8% sure we’re trading Burns to the Chiefs for Travis Kelce.
-
Commanders got a 2nd for Montez Sweat. Bears then signed him for 4-years and $98 million. Seems letting him walk wouldn’t make sense if we can get something/anything for him.
-
I mean I’d take Taylor out if she didn’t tell Travis.

Playing in 4 of the last 5 Super Bowls. And winning 3.

The guy works for ESPN, who raises prices 10% or more every year. Not defending Tepper, but come on with this take on National TV (not to mention belittling our team, city, and stadium).

Mad Dog is even worse than Stephen A.

We could trade Burns for Fields and complete the Carolina Panthers front office’s complete rebuild of the Chicago Bears roster in one year.

Didn’t see that Aleksej Pokuševski signing, thanks. 17th overall pick at 19 years old, 7-foot Serbian who ran the point one game for OKC and had an NBA triple double, lol? Some lofty comparisons to Chet Holmgrem. Sounds like your hail-Mary type pickup, maybe he’s nothing, maybe he sticks. I do like that we’re getting younger.

Anyone have a take on Davis Bertans? When I saw him part of the Hayward trade and saw his contract ($17mik), I assumed he’d be a buyout along with Kyle Lowry. But he didn’t get bought out and is playing significant minutes. Seems to be a stretch 4 (6’10) that can actually shoot the three at a decent clip. He was 4/8 from three tonight, mostly garbage time. At $17mil (not fully guaranteed) he’s one of our most expensive players but can’t imagine he’s a longterm fit. Guessing he was included to match Hayward’s salary and won’t stick around CLT next year? The real pieces from that move were Micic, Tre Mann, and the two 2nds.

Yeah they’re doubling us up. We might not even score 75 points tonight.

I know it’s been against some weaker competition, but a 10-41 team suddenly going 5-1 after big trades is more than remarkable. And holding an NBA team to 80 points on the road is insane. Two games against the Bucks probably won’t sustain this hot streak but I like the trajectory of this team moving forward.

Tre Mann has serious All-Star potential (younger and cheaper than Rozier and higher upside) and Grant Williams is a huge 3-and-D glue-guy. Throw in the first-round picks and the salary dumps and I really like what we have right now.

I really like the new additions and the way they fit this roster long-term. Add in the two future first-round picks and I think the Hornets have a bright future. (Tre Mann, Micic, and Grant Williams really have me hyped!) 1.) Lamelo Ball / Micic 2.) Tre Mann / Seth Curry 3.) Brandon Miller / Cody Martin 4.) Miles Bridges / Grant Williams / Bertans 5.) Mark Williams / Nick Richards

On the 4-game winning streak since the trades: “Earlier in the season we would have gave up and let them run away with it," Bridges said. "But you know, we got veteran guys in our locker room now — winning players — and we got it done.” “We didn’t let our offense dictate our defense. We got key stops,” Bridges said about the Hornets keeping the Jazz without a field goal the last 3:33 of the game. Charlotte snapped a 16-game losing streak in Utah. The last win for the Hornets over the Jazz on the road was a 104-89 victory on March 1, 2006. “That’s big for this team." Grant Williams said. "Everybody just plays the right style of basketball. Everybody here, you can tell, wants to win. We have that mentality of doing all that it takes.” “In these four games that Grant’s been on the floor, we’ve been really good,” Clifford said. “He creates a lot of offense for his teammates with his shooting … and then he’s like the middle linebacker back there and organizes your defense. He also plays with great physicality.”

Actually Bacot is the poster-child for my original point and this discussion about players entering the draft at 19/20 and busting in the NBA. Bacot and NIL Bacot probably could’ve been drafted at 20/21 years old and would be out of the league by now. But NIL kept him in school for two extra years. He’ll never get an NBA contract and that’s fine - it’s better for the league, it’s better for the schools, and it’s better for the player (he’s worth $5mil and has multiple businesses). This is the upside of NIL.

Chicken fights and piggy back rides?

You think the Bears would give us a do-over and trade #1 and #9 for Bryce and Burns? Lol. We got fleeced by a program almost as bad as ours.
