DJ Moore officially changes jersey number to No. 2
PootieNunu replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Its a much better number than 12. Nobody wants to be 12. Unless they were bullied as a child and want to go on a power trip. -

The most important storyline for Week 1: Jets vs Panthers

CMC is a young stud, Amendola is a washed up has-been. I think CMC could take him easily. -
Analyzing the 10 OL who should make the roster
PootieNunu replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
He should not make the team, he cannot play any other position besides LT, and he sucks at playing that. We have guys with more versatility that should get a roster spot over him, regardless of him being on a rookie deal. -
Matt Ryan and Julio Jones are the reason they are in cap hell. Julio's cap hit is 23m and he has averaged 12.5 games a year over the course of his career. He is also 32 years old. I do not see teams lining up to trade for that. He is 20th all time in yards and way down the list in all time TDs, he is getting paid like a HoF'er and he is not one. Ryans cap hit is even worse, even after a restructure. His cap hit is 26m. He is 34, a middling qb, being paid like a top 5 qb. The falcons allowed these players to sign these asinine contracts and now it is biting them in the ass.

Panthers fall in new ESPN Power Rankings

Cardinals at 11, 49ers at 9, this list is poo. 2 non playoff teams in the top 12 for no real reason other than they think they might be better this year than last. The 49ers moved up because they did not select a WR and they picked a QB who probably will not be ready for at least a year. The cardinals moved up because they replaced 2 aging CBs with 2 rookie CBs. They dont even mention they lost their top pass rusher. The list has no rhyme or reason, just gut feelings. -

Great breakdown of the OL. Really in depth analysis of every single person that should make the team. Good post! -
They got lucky as it was to win the super bowl, they could have had any of the top tier QBs and still had a very good chance to win it all.
-
They could have replaced Winston with any number of competent QBs and had a chance at the super bowl.

Luke knows so much about football. -
IIs Trainwreck your alt? You guys seem to have the same ideas.
-
You never liked Cam to start with and you were more than happy once he was gone. Some of us still respect the best QB this franchise has ever had, its not his fault our braindead staff ran him into the ground. Of course he is not the same QB he once was, but he is still better than the poo we trotted out there last season.
-
They also had a great team already and only needed a QB, but everyone forgets that part.
-
Dalvin cook cant stay healthy, other than that great comparisons. Of course you are talking about 2nd and 3rd round picks which this franchise has historically not valued. We like picking the slowest safeties or a gadget QB.
-
So it becomes evidence for Stevens because the saints wanted to be dipshits and take away touches from Thomas, kamara, etc? I do not support Taysom hill coming on the field for the saints so why would I support our team doing the same thing?
-
I can agree with the positional values, but you cannot say every player we picked was a bad pick because some QB we passed on turns out to be a good qb.
-
I am not either, but stop comparing him to Taysom Hill when he has done none of the things Taysom does. That is not evidence.
-
If he is our #3 qb and never gets to see the field except for on special teams fine. If we start putting him in to take out guys that actually spent their college career training for that position, then I have a problem with that. There is no evidence he can play any position other than QB, and he does not even play that at a high level. He is fast on a straight line with little to no agility, hill at least has some agility.
-
So you have concrete support that he can play any of those other positions? He played QB in college and he was not great at passing or rushing. You are entitled to your own opinion as I am mine. Tommy is fast on a straight line, maybe he should run track? Plenty of guys are fast and tall, that does not mean they can play h-back or TE effectively. Where are your reasons he will succeed other than derp taysom hill derp. Oh and he is fast and tall. For comparison, Ian Thomas is 6"4' runs a 4.7 and played TE in college, he still sucks.
-
So we are playing with 7 skill players, 3 ol, and a QB? Or is stevens the QB in this situation and we have 4 ol?? ( which I cannot stand let your QB run the game)
-
I dont think that has anything to do with it. Those teams run different systems, there is no guarantee either of them would succeed here, even if they succeed somewhere else. Using that same logic how many of our picks have been "bad picks"? CMC? Luke? Where do you draw the line?

Im making the argument that Tommy Stevens will never be more than camp fodder at the least or a special teamer at most. Im also making the argument that paying Hill that much and taking away snaps from meaningful pieces of your offense is dumb for the saints. Stevens will make under 1m this season, but if we start trying to force him onto the field to block or catch, I think it is a mistake. Not taking away from your opinion that Stevens can replicate what Taysom Hill does, just saying I would rather not have a Taysom Hill. I dont think he adds anything to the saints offense.
