How much of the Jets performance was really on Darnold?
PootieNunu replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
He did not play because he was not ready to play, you can probably say he was not ready to play until year 4. What overwhelming optimism? Most of what I see is bitching because we did not draft Fields or some other QB. Would Darnold be my first choice? No, but he is here now and I hope he can get his poo together, it would not be the first time or the last. The guy has the talent, he just needs to put it on the field. -

Nope. Do you? I said repeatedly that he is probably not the second coming of Drew Brees. Maybe some of you guys should start applying for GM jobs. -
Coach em up!

Lets just throw him in the fuging trash before he ever plays a down for us. I named much more than Brees and Young. They were only some examples. Do I think Darnold will be half as good as either? Not likely, but it would be great if he is. Its a better outlook than "oh noes we did not draft a QB who was the 4th or 5th best in the draft" "woe is me we are not going to win like this" If Darnold sucks like Teddy then he gets replaced. -

How does it not count? I said his first three seasons. It started to click for him in year 4, before that he was ass and you know it. You may not realize it, but guys develop when they are in the league. Do you think Rodgers would have been as good as he is if he was thrown into the fire his rookie season? Steve Young sucked in Tampa, Favre sucked in Atlanta. Rich Gannon, Jim Plunkett, I'm sure there are others out there as well. Some guys come into the league and they are ready from day 1, some need to be coached up and have time to develop. I have no idea if The Darnold will redeem himself or still suck, and neither do you. However I hope Darnold can put it together instead of just saying he will suck so you can fire up the " I told you guys!" -
I will probably play it eventually, working on Yakuza like a dragon atm.

Im ready for The Sandman, even though fugtards are upset about the casting.

I am once again not saying he is the next Drew Brees. I am pointing out that you cannot judge a guy for 3 seasons playing for one of the worst coaches in the league and with one of the weakest rosters. The jets franchise is awful, no way around it. Not everyone comes into the league as an immediate all-pro, guys careers have different trajectories. -

I said his first 3 years, seriously keep up. Year 1: 55% completion 1 td 0 int Year 2: 60% completion 17 td 16 int Year 3: 57% completion 11 td 15 int Total TD 29 total int 31 57% completion on average over the three years. My god it is there on the internet for anyone to see, try to troll better. I guess if you use his first 3 good years, you can come up with those numbers you pulled out of your ass. -
Is Jones really wearing #90? That is our 1 sure fire HoF players number.

Heading into OTAs today - whatcha interested in?
PootieNunu replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im glad Anderson and Jones are on 1 year deals, we are trying to build something and they cant even be bothered to show up. -
When you consider everybody said we would have the worst D in the league on these very same forums, I think he did well. MoRon is supposed to be a defensive mastermind, but our D last season was better than our 2019 D. Give Snow some credit.

In Brees first 3 seasons he was completing less than 60% of his passes and had more int than TD, but continue with your revisionist history. -
Panthers VP of football ops Sean Padden has resigned

He probably got too big for his breeches. -

Drew Brees was also "giving up on" but he has a ring and old man Rivers does not. I'm not saying that The Darnold is the next Brees, just saying it is not unprecedented. -
I dont know the scenario either, but as one of the top guys on offense I think he would only benefit from attending. I guess with him not there it does allow the younger guys to get more reps, so that is a positive I suppose. I also care that he produces during the games. He is a Panther for now so I will support him.

I still remember him begging for pro-bowl votes on the jets sideline. He also seems kinda peeved that his boy Teddy is gone and may not get the bulk of the targets anymore. If he was at OTAs I probably would not view him as harshly. I realize he has played with The Darnold before but every rep counts. Guys that get that go a long way in this league, guys that don't move teams a lot.

He was unwilling to push the ball because of his arm talent. He cannot push the ball, if he throws deep it is a floater and often off target.
