Like I said you are overrating him. McLaurin and Metcalf are superior to DJ. I wonder how much you overhyped Julio before he got traded last year, you have some sort of WR fetish. DJ is a middling WR, he does not catch the tough passes, he does not have a big body, he is not a red zone threat. He is good with YAC and needs someone that can deliver the ball on time. You dont pay top end money for that kind of WR. IF he can be had for 16-18m sure, if not good luck up on the commanders with your buddy Samuel, we see how it worked out for him.
-
To put up similar numbers on an absurd contract? DJ would be best with a guy that can hit the deep shots, not mac fuggin jones. Dj with mac jones would get 1k yards with 4-5 TDs for a stupid amount of money.
-
Its not being silly, his contract value is going to be more than his actual worth. He does not belong with the real top end WRs in this league, yet you want to pay him like he does. Anything over 18m per season is an overpay, but you are ready to give up 21-22m per season for a guy that is more like a top 15 WR, not a top 5 WR. I get he is our draft pick and has been here for a few years but some of you get too attached and start overhyping our players. DJ is worth a tad more than Samuel was, thats it.
-
What picks? Two 3rds or something? I think the most we could get for him would be a 2nd.
-
Which of the WRs on that list making 17m or more a year is DJ better than? IF we pay more than 18 a year it is an overpay. And that is with hopes he will get a little better. If any team pays him more than that it is going to be a dumpster fire team so good luck to him. No top team is paying him that much.
-
Moore belong somewhere in that 13-15m range. Robby has no business being that high, he only makes that much because of Rhule.
-
Im not unserious, but I dont see how paying a guy 21 mil per season is going to help us when it hasnt helped us with him playing on a rookie contract. If we overpaid CMC, that is a crazy overpay for Moore.
-
We are still looking for that WR, Moore is like 60% of prime Steve Smith.
-
Golladay has a cap hit of 21 mil for the next 3 seasons, no way let him walk.
-
Is he getting better? He had quite a few drops last year, it just didnt look as bad because Robby was dropping everything. He is a good WR , but not a true #1. IF some team wants to pay him some ridiculous amount I would let him walk.
-
I dont think anyone is saying he is not talented, but signing him to some stupid top end WR deal is not going to produce more wins for us.
-
DJ is not worth top 10 WR money. He is a #2 option that is why our offense sputters so badly when CMC is out. He could be great on a team with a good QB and proven #1 guy that can stay healthy. Our team is built for CMC to be the #1 but he cant stay on the field.
-
The senior bowl is not the place where you should be looking at a guy to spend a 1st on. The senior bowls sucks, most of the time these are the guys that were not good enough to declare for the draft early except for a few rare cases. These are guys that should be going in the late 2nd or after.
-
Robby, CMC, and Shaq's contract are already stupid to begin with, I hope we just ride them out while the team sucks, no need to add dead money down the road when we are going to suck this upcoming year anyway. Stop restructuring bad contracts on aging players, some who cant even stay healthy.
-
Wilson is not a world beater, the saints will need more than just Wilson to win a super bowl. Sure they can beat the hell out of us with him, but they are not beating the elite teams with just adding Russ. Rodgers on the bucs could be a problem if all Toms cronies dont leave.

Just wanna remind everyone, today was a good day.

Our Roster -- Players We Feel Good About (Part 1 - Offense)**
PootieNunu replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Robby is not a #2 WR and needs to be featured less in our offense. He should not be option #2 when CMC goes out. -
Breaking News: Nobody with any other options wants to be Matt Rhules scapegoat for the 2022 season

Metrics dont mean anything when teams can just put a jumbo set on the field and run all over our D. We seen it against the cowboys and the WFT.
-
We are so worried about an OC, what are we doing to fix the defense? The D is supposed to be our calling card but teams routinely ran all over us. A new OC is not going to fix the problems with this team.

After today, everyone should understand you need a QB
PootieNunu replied to AU-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fields remains to be seen, Mac Jones was not the right choice. If anything we should have taken Slater, the QBs from this class look very underwhelming. You dont draft a 1st round QB just for the sake of drafting a 1st round QB. -

The bears are sitting at home and Mac Jones is ass and probably already at his ceiling or close to it. Our current coaching staff would not correctly develop either one of those guys and they would have looked worse than our QBs this year did. The signing of Darnold and Teddy were mistakes, but what hasnt been when it comes to this staff? They have been here 2 years and made maybe 3 or 4 good moves. As it stands right now we have one great player under contract from this Era in Chinn the rest are holdovers or they are FAs this year. We have spent 2 years to add Chinn to our roster. -
Who knows if Mitch wanted to come here to totally end his career? He was in a better position with the bears, why would he downgrade to a worse predicament? I think he made the right choice in being a backup in Buffalo.

I have more Faith in Scott Fitterer than Rhule.

It does not matter when Rhule has the final say over all things football related.
