There is also that in Josh Sweat, Who only has 11 less sacks than Burns and is only a year older. The big thing is Josh sweat isnt looking for 30m+ a season. We are not getting what you guys are thinking for Burns unless we sing him to a contract and pay a good portion of his salary before trading him . No one is giving up a 1st+ for the right to pay him 30m+ a season.

The man that should be our top target in FA
PootieNunu replied to NJPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Barkley is over rated and has been since he was drafted. I want no parts of paying a RB. Chuba had just a good a year last season as Barkley did at a fraction of the cost. ' You guys seriously need to lay off of FA and names. We dont have cap to sign anyone and we dont have assets to trade for anyone. -
We are going to suck this season there is no way around it. I have hope they could be the right guys, but we are still going to suck the upcoming season.

Carolina Panthers will have trouble building roster for 2024
PootieNunu replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
This dosent fit their narrative that Young wasnt given a chance. He is supposed to have 5 seconds of pocket time and WRs with 5 yards of separation. -
Dude get a life, none of the damn FA's you have brought up are even remotely realistic for our team. Dont get mad with me because the team has wasted years of resources to field constant 5 win or worse teams. We will have enough trouble even building out our roster and you want to entertain high priced FA's.
-
The dude played 4 games last season and 6 the season before. We already have a younger version of him.
-
New QB unless Bryce shows drastic improvements, but he wont.
-
What are we signing big names for? Adding Chris Jones or any other FA is not going to shift our win total dramatically it's just a waste of cap that we may need to sign someone with down the road when we actually have a good team. We are going to suck this season, just accept it.

Would keeping Burns require another big D-line addition?
PootieNunu replied to Donald LaFell's topic in Carolina Panthers
IDK they usually go for the big RAS score guys, until it came to selecting a QB, then we pick a guy with middle school level measurables. -

Burns is the type of guy that should only be on the field in obvious pass rushing situations. He is a hinderance in any other situation. -
The dudes price tag is going to be close to 30m to play for us. We are not in a position to add ANY high priced FAs. Those are the types of moves you make when you feel you are one piece away from competing for a super bowl. The best thing we can do is resign our own guys and pick up draft capital. not go on a spending spree for names.
-
He has gotten a raise 2 seasons in a row, he played on his 5th year option at 16m and now is on the tag at 24m. If he wanted a big payday he should have had a monster season last year, he didnt and now his contract will be adjusted accordingly. Spotrac has his value at 21m per.

What elite talent are you adding from FA? You have a tendency to want to sign every FA that has a recognizable name regardless of the price tag or team fit.
-
Incase you havent noticed we already have a roster full of nobodies. You dont build your team with high priced FA signings. You draft well and fill holes in FA. Our team sucks and overpaying for some mid ass WR is not going to fix BY. Which of the top teams got there on the back of their FAs? Resign Luvu and Brown. trade Burns, continue getting ird of players like Donte and Hurst. Embrace the suck this upcoming season, there is not a FA out there that will make us contenders next season.
-
Thats because he is best used as a situational pass rusher, he is not an every down EDGE. You dont pay those type of players 30m+ a season. Of course if he goes to a team that scores a bunch of points and lets him rush the passer all game he will put up more sacks. He will still be the same player he has always been.
-
Should have been done years ago before our team was gutted.
-
If Fitt were still here Russ would already be otw the Charlotte to become the leagues highest paid QB and BY would be shipped off to the highest bidder.

2021 was three seasons ago....

Rizzuti & USA Today on prospects we've talked with
PootieNunu replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Probably was a no brainer, we are looking to pay him probably 20-25m and he is looking for 30+ Go suck an egg Burns. -
So 3 seasons ago he was elite? I just said that.

Pfft Round 2, Raiders are snatching this guy in the 1st.

I think Morgan was in charge of Pro personnel moves, probably why he got to keep his job, some of the guys he brought in last season were solid.
