  1. Hmmm, I guess there was a special playbook the quickly cooked up last week for Dalton.
  2. Yeah, but it's starting to sink in with some folks. When he's not even looking beyond 20 yards, there's a problem. I'm sure our playbook has plays that has routes of 20+ yards.
  3. Ickey has a rough start to last season too and got it cleaned up. But yeah, going into year two, the slow start shouldn't be a thing.
  4. I saw several plays where a target was open beyond the LOS. Young refused to pull the trigger. Dude is legit shell shocked.
  5. Growing pains indeed, but this was a home game and he was having trouble getting the plays off in time. Honestly there could have been at 3 or 4 more delay of games as the play clock hit zero when the ball was snapped. As I said in another post, Seattle last week with Bryce would have been atrocious. He's a rookie and should be treated as such. It's not an insult to simplify things for him. I dare say Bryce may even be relieved to have some things taken off his plate right now.
  6. I get it, but I really wanted Dalton to start just this week to at least get one win. Next week, Young could go back to learning the ropes versus the Lions. Looking at that 0 in the win column is a freaking gut punch man.
  7. Again, they need to simplify it. I get Young is supposed to be this human computer, but he's a rookie QB. He SHOULD NOT be given the latitude he's getting right now. You can rationalize it all you want to. The end result is--it's NOT WORKING. If calling two plays is causing delay of games, hurried snaps and less time for the rookie to read the defense, then SIMPLIFY it. Continuously running into a brick wall is not going to make the brink wall move. Sure he can probably execute this in practice in a 'no hit' jersey and with a mock pass rush against a defense he knows well, but on game day it looks bad.
  8. Yup, but what he's doing is checking out of the first play and for a rookie this too much responsibility. Bryce needs one play and execute it. Maybe he can get the snap off in time. I shudder to imagine had he stated last week in Seattle how ugly that offensive performance would have been.
  9. He needs pull the rookie is what the needs to do. Right now, the kid is borderline broken.
  10. Ability to change the plays is fine, but doing it as much as he does is overkill...pun intended. How many times did Cousins check out of a play today? Honestly, he has too much freedom to run this offense as a rookie. Frank needs to tell him to run the damn play that is called. Later in the year give him the latitude to change the play if need be. Crap, I'll be hearing kill, kill, kill in my sleep tonight I heard so damn much today from Bryce.
  11. Yeah, he did draft Bryce, so you may be right about being a bad coach.
  12. His size is exactly why and he knows it. The two pick performance and a couple of thumping hits is why dude is playing scared. I was told despite his size, he's mentally tough. He's not showing signs of it at all.
  13. Young is going to ruin Reich's tenure before it even really gets started. Dalton is no football savant, but we would at least be 2-2 if he were starting while the rookie sat a portion of the season. All things equal defensively on our side of the ball today, Dalton wins this game handily.
  14. Yeah, sitting the #1 overall pick would have not gone over well. While I agree with sitting Young, 99% of the fan base would not.
  15. I love to know if we were really FA QB market this off season or if Tepper was pushing for a rookie QB from the moment Reich was hired. Both Frank and Fitts had to know this was going to be a LOOooonnng season with a rookie QB. Was that a risk they were willing to take or was it a mandate by Tepper?
  16. Question, would we still have traded up for Bryce Young? If so, nothing changes.
  17. One assist tackle and one pressure for Burns on the day-- I think it was the same play to be honest where YGM got the sack. That's totally worth a $170 million extension!
  18. He at least has accountability. Rhule would have said Thielen forgot he was supposed to be on the field.
  19. Play clock: 5, 4, 3, 2 --Kill, kill, 1, 0, Kill, kill *snap* swing pass. Lol!!!!!!
  20. Wow, this got unpinned quickly. I would want this thread to get buried as fast as possible too.
  21. Lol, yup. They would take two top talents and still be garbage.
  22. Young is too soft for the NFL, period. He got shell shocked much earlier than I even predicted. Heck, all it took was one twisted ankle and dude is mentally broken.
