The worst part about losing last night
45catfan replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not miserable, but realistic. This team made the playoffs on a tiebreaker because our entire division blows. If the NFL got rid of the archaic division winner nonsense and strictly went with the 7 best records, we wouldn't have even been in the playoffs, let alone hosting a game. It would be different if we went on a late season tear and were piping hot heading into the playoffs. We lost 3 of 4. Sorry, if I lost my rose color glasses that blocks out reality. Speaking of horrible road teams, even if we did advance somehow, the first road game versus an elite team, we would have gotten completely smoked. Take the feel good loss in the WC round. It would have only gotten uglier. -
The worst part about losing last night

Says the guy who went to the game thinking the Panthers would actually win. Granted, it was closer than I thought, or nearly everyone else who didn't have rose colored glasses on, but the Rams advanced as expected. -

The worst part about losing last night

The worst part of last night was losing our franchise LT indefinitely and it's not even close. Next to franchise QBs these guys are the toughest to find/replace. Moral victories are for suckers. -
Your Feelings on Bryce Through 3 Seasons? (POLL)
45catfan replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly, an average QB who's either a very solid backup or a low end starter. Either way, not where you want your franchise QB to be. -
2026 Panthers Free Agents… who you keeping and who can walk
45catfan replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Actually, I'd keep most of them on the offense. Rico, Moore and Corbett can walk. All of the ERFAs and RFAs across the board. Both STs guys, obviously. The defense needs a total overhaul of FAs. -
Your Feelings on Bryce Through 3 Seasons? (POLL)
45catfan replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Options 5 and 6 are running away with the poll. Combining 0ptions 3/4 and 7/8; they cancel each other out. The vast majority of people think Bryce is an average QB, but slightly differ on his career future. -
Hopefully he gets some HC looks. If he lands one, we get comp picks and he's out of Charlotte too. It's a win-win.

That's the thing, the middle of round is void of Edge rusher currently. You have a few guys pegged top 15 candidates then there's a huge gap to the end of round 1. I'm sure there will be a RAS warrior that will jump up 10 spots or more after the Combine, and we'll be suckers to fall for it too. This is where you take stock of players, now. Not after the Combine, Pro Days and team meetings. After that, it's subjective to preferences/opinions: underwear athleticism, personality, scheme fits, proficiency/consistency of reps versus the air, etc... Tape & stats. Folks, It's that freaking simple. We always overthink and over-analyze draft season.

OT is very viable option at #19. No real elite studs, but a few very solid guys. We may have to go offense again this year in round 1. If only the freaking Saints could have taken care of the Falcons. People are also forgetting that Horn sustained yet another concussion too. Top CB sustains another concussion and franchise LT lost for at least a year, possibly longer or forever. Backdoored into the playoffs, dropping 5 draft slots where we could have gotten an edge rusher of LB. For what a moral victory because we lost a close game? All for moral victory because we lost a close game in the playoffs? Our record is exactly the same as if we would have missed the playoffs. Crazy.

Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft

Lol, who? The top guys will be gone and the next guy after them is a solid second rounder. Yeah, playoffs! -
Ok so now who you pulling for in the playoffs?
45catfan replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I still refer to the Bills as 'Panthers north', so there's my answer. -
We are drafting an OT for certain now. I was wanting one for the eventual departure of Moton, but now it's not even about depth for the future. It's a need. Sucks for the big man. I hope he has a successful and speedy recovery. Again, the gratuitous playoff birth keeps on giving. You had better believe I'm going to be extremely interested in picks 14-18.

Pipe dream guys. At #14 he might have been there, but dude will gone like a fart in the wind at pick 19.
-
No Sadiq! He's exactly a Kyle Pitts type of RAS warrior. We get a TE in FA and use that pick on something much more worth while.

Pass. A great example of hype over substance.

Your Feelings on Bryce Through 3 Seasons? (POLL)
45catfan replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's not the system guys, so don't blame Canales. Play calling may be iffy at times, but the concepts are solid. WRs were open a lot yesterday, go back and look. I counted two tight window/precision type of throws required of Bryce, even then they weren't overly difficult by NFL standards.. The rest of the time, guys were open. In the NFL when WRs are open, QBs are expected to hit them. It's not even debatable. I've been watching Mendoza put the ball in insanely tight windows all season....down the field too. In the Oregon game, he had two throws that, if not utterly PERFECT, could not have been completed. They were flawless throws. If a college QB can do this, it's not asking too much of a NFL QB wrapping up year 3 to do it. -
He's depth at best. I say we draft another guy at WR and use money in FA on TE and backup QB. We need an OT in the draft and the rest use on defense.
-
Yes! If the top LBs and Edge guys are gone (looking like they will be), he will be the best guy to get. No reaching!
