Some guys could go back, BUT outside out Lagway and Sellers, this is a solid crop. Please see my previous post about guys smartening up to being a top 5 pick. Is it better to be a top 5 pick or top 15 pick? Think real hard about this. Actually it shouldn't be all that hard. Mark my words, the 2027 QB draft will be EPIC! Why? Dudes will be fighting for QB 3-4-5. They are not dumb jocks anymore. With agents and financial advisors, they realize going to a sh1t franchise ruins your career faster than going to a middling team. Please bookmark this post.

Understand, these guys aren't idiots. Is It better to be the #13 overall pick of or the #1 overall pick? Think real hard about this and get back to me. I'm not trying to be being a smart@ss, but a realist.

Otten is definitely an option for a young, cheaper pick up. I've always been a Goedert fan. That's the big splash guy in FA if we go that route. Several medium tier guys, but still better than our TE room. Hooper, Fant, Likely, Waller etc... It's a pretty good FA group. That's why I'm against grasping for a project guy like like Sadiq mid round one. You take a Loveland or Warren with that pick like last draft...proven TEs ready for the next level.

How about let's stop focusing on which of these two was the bigger mistake, just they are mistakes. Focus on the future. Hopefully 2026 will be the last season with Bryce Young as our "Franchise QB".
-
Yup and we went 0-1, which was the likely outcome all along. Even if we did win somehow, we lost two O-linemen, Horn and would have got smoked on the road. This was clearly not our year. Ask Harbaugh, Tomlin and McDermott about just making the playoffs without advancing or advancing far enough. This is a win or go home tournament, clearly not for teams that could barley win back-back games the entire season or a for a squad that can't seem to put games away convincingly. We were dangling by a thread all season long, obviously not a recipe for a SB run.

I couldn't be on the internet without ad blockers. Pop-up ads are the worst.

PLEASE no Sadiq. We have much bigger fish to fry than a Swole Bones or Ian Thomas carbon copy. He's an athlete playing TE. We unmistakable TE playing TE. Hit up FA for TE.

Dude, really? A 8-9 team was going to win the Super Bowl? If we were the Seahawks or Patriots, I would get it. All we did was weaken our roster for next season on what was CLEARLY a futile effort in the playoffs.
-
Exactly. It was an impatient hedge fund billionaire wanting immediate results even though the average NFL fan realized that '23 QB class was questionable at best. Even if there was a voice inside the building that cautioned against the move up and/or waiting for a much better QB class the following spring, it's not like Tepper would have listened.
-
Bingo! Will history repeat itself or will we dip our toes in the QB rich 2027 draft class?
-
Neither, if we would have waited another year like I wanted we could have had our choice of 6 franchise QBs.
-
Remember how we fired a coach for continuously taking us to the playoffs, but falling short of the Super Bowl? No? Me either.

Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panthers History
45catfan replied to dep's topic in Carolina Panthers
For people that use the straw man of our OL sucking for Bryce's woes, he's #18 in sacks of 24 QBs that played in 14 or more games. Herbert got sacked TWICE as much--54 to 27 sacks. Bryce average 1.5 sacks a game. So if 1 or 2 sacks a game is messing him up, He needs to go talk to the guys getting sacked nearly 4 times a game. -
So let's add this up, Ickey out for a year+, Horn suffered another concussion (remember Luke?) and our RG who was rushed back from injury sustains another significant one. Yay, pointless playoff game! Anyone who was high enough to think this team had ANY sort of shot to put a run together needs to go to NA.

Yes. I'm more intrigued by Lomu. As I stated earlier, he's not a plug and play guy year 1, but I think he can be a franchise LT with a year of development.
-
I guess I'm in Seattle's corner now. I can't stand any of the other teams remaining. Dang, why couldn't the Bills have won?
-
As it stands now, yes, a couple OTs are slotted in the early 20's on multiple BBs.
-
I don't wait until the Combine for several reasons, a) little/no prior familiarity with the players b) workout warriors skew the conversation c) More players are limiting or opting out of Combine activities all together which leaves d) people defaulting to RAS.
-
This is who are people are mocking to us for the most part now. I think it's a little high currently. I want to see his pre-draft workouts before I'm sold on Howell.
-
Nah, there should be a guy there at #19 we need. One of the edge guys, Conception, one of the CBs and possibly an OT. It would be rotten luck if Styles, Delane, Lomu, Conception and Howell are all gone. If Styles is gone, while not my favorite, Allen certainly will be. They are neck and neck for OLB2.
-
I like OT Lomu as a prospect if he's still there. He's young and needs bulking and seasoning, definitely a project year 1 and why we need to re-sign Yosh and/or other LT. If Ickey is done or he comes back less than his prior self, we can move him to RT or guard. We got to have a plan in place.
-
Yes, the top OT is going to be there at #19. Suuuuuure. Styles is getting more buzz now than Reese. I'm not saying that he's getting drafted before Reese, but that these a lot of talk about him. I will say he's probably going before Allen, who will likely be the best OLB remaining at #19. Several mocks have Bailey going to the Saints and Tampa taking Styles, so two of my favorite guys may be going to our arch rivals. Yay!!! Good thing the Falcons don't have one because they would take one of the remaining guys I like.
-
I wouldn't mock this hire, guys. Dude is decent. He got 'Teppered' in Cleveland. The front office/ownership screwed him over time and time again. He's actually a good coach. Remember, Cleveland was the only team that outbid Tepper for Deshaun Watson. Give him a decent roster and we could be looking at trouble.

Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
45catfan replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Yup and Chambliss is now suing for a 6th year after getting denied. Apparently Ole Miss is paying him $6M to play another year. He's not getting that in the NFL, not a 3rd round rookie contract. No wonder he's adamant about going back. Usually the NCAA backs down in such instances. Duke's Mensah entered the portal at the last moment, one source says Miami is the likely target. The ONLY underclassmen in this entire QB class now are Mendoza and Simpson, both RJRs.
