  1. Trading up to take the #1 pick that hadn't delivered a winning season yet wasn't a huge blunder? All this playoff spot is to me is simply to get off the playoff drought list. We very well may be in the same spot as the Falcons are now next year, actually fairly likely. There should be very few, if any, excuses not to eclipse this season. I simply don't see it happening.
  2. Ugh, please don't compare these two teams. The 2014 team was on the verge of a break out, we all knew it. 2015 bore that out. This '25 team is limping forward. I have no delusion of a near perfect record or a SB trip next season. In fact we are likely to miss the playoffs altogether, IMO.
  3. How? Neither are going anywhere. They are running it back again with adjustments to other parts of the roster. Dave an Bryce are connected at the hip at least one more season.
  4. Is it Dave or Bryce? We have seen Bryce with different coaches, but we haven't seen Canales with a different QB. You know where I stand. We can change the offense and I don't think we will be markedly better with Bryce still the QB. I think a different QB in this very same offense can deliver better results.
  5. Just imagine the how much worse that would be if you take out the clear outlier Falcons 30-0 win? We won one game by more than one score...the prior mentioned Falcons game. Only one other by more than 3 points, the Jets. So we can merely slide by in games we win, but only 2 of our 9 losses were by one score differential. Seems a bit lopsided, no?
  6. If the STs and defense don't play nearly perfect ball, we don't win. On the flip side, we have lost several games were the other two phases of the team held up their end of the deal and we still lost.
  7. Makes sense. They are drafting their franchise QB, so they need to bring in a new HC too. It's normally a package deal, if not a 3-way package with the GM too.
  8. You don't have to be a speed demon to play the slot, but you do have to be quick. It requires situational awareness (football IQ), twitchiness, great get-off, dynamic feet in tight spaces and obviously great hands. I've seen mocks with him sneaking in the top 15. As of now, he's mostly mocked in late round 1, with the occasional one higher or lower than that range. WRs stock, especially, can take off with a good pre-draft showing. For his stock to rise, say 10 spots, is totally not only achievable, but very likely.
  9. Howell is a bit high right now. but if he has a good showing prior to the draft, he could be in range. Sadiq is a great athlete who plays TE. No thanks. I don't want a knock off Kyle Pitts. OL, DL or CB are the likely choices. They are needs, but not top needs. I would like KC Concepcion. He can play anywhere, but as a slot guy with Tet and Coker on the outside, man that would be a stacked WR room! Trade XL.
  10. They reason they have no clue is the two positions we need the most (EDGE & LB) are going to be gone. Unless a name heats up from the top of the 2nd round/late first, we would be reaching or taking BPA.
  11. Oooooo...that one stung. Also, fug Tepper. He's only ruined this franchise, so backdooring into the playoffs simply because the rest our division is a heaping pile of steaming dung, is zero reason to give that man an iota of credit. Canales is mid AF. Morgan is getting better at his job after a questionable start, but I wouldn't cement him in his position for the long term.
  12. This is why we absolutely cannot extend Bryce. We are going to pay other key positions and we either need a mid-tier FA QB or another on a rookie deal.
  13. Ranked by probability to win the Super Bowl. There's 14 playoff teams, so...
  14. Disrespect. Most of the other lines are tight. The next largest odds are -3.5.
  15. Man, this one hits too close to home.
  16. I swear if we draft Sadiq I will be so livid. He's more of a freak athlete than a TE. Think Kyle Pitts. We have passed up legit TEs for years and the is a really weak TE draft, especially early on. The reason I bring him up is this is his projected target area where we are now.
  17. No kidding. The last thing a pissed off fan wants to read to thesis of what went wrong and what should have been. Give them the cliff notes. "Sorry, I fugged up. Changes are being made and I will make better decisions. This fan base deserves better." Ta-da!
  18. The '26 draft class is loaded with upperclassmen QBs. I would definitely take a flyer after the second round. This is where you throw a dart blindfolded at a dartboard and hope you miraculously hit the bullseye. At best stumble upon a Brock Purdy, at worst you waste a day two or three draft pick. Somewhere in the middle the team finds their Andy Dalton of the future.
  19. His dead cap is stupid. Moton will be here for a couple more years. It's not like his play has dropped off. yes we need to draft a backup, but not necessarily round 1.
  20. Since we backed into the playoffs and dropped about 5 draft spots, based on how Big Boards are shaping up, look for an OT, DL or CB. The top Edge and LBs will be gone.
  21. The difference being in 2014 we knew we were building something special. Sure enough we went 15-1 the next season on the way to the SB. I have zero delusions about this team taking kind of step next year. Heck, I think we will actually regress to be completely honest with you.
  22. Not "might be", BETTER DAMN WELL BE. I can't relive this nightmare again where we miss the jackpot QB draft. The '27 draft is slated to be insanely loaded. Bryce will be our QB next fall, but better not be the fall of '27.
