Sure, but one with a winning record until he took this job. Crazy how coincidental that is, right? Carolina is the place where coaching resumes get a permanent black eye.

Reviewing Bryce draft projections, and a word on “flashing”
45catfan replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Can't fix his height, thus, he can't be fixed. Let's move on. -
Frank would likely agree with you. He should have waited on a better option.
-
-Moral of the story: Frank was a dinosaur, but we were playing 1950's ball last year during our winning streak as people are now lamenting letting Wilkes walk and Reich was expected to work miracles in year 1 while he apparently forgot how to teach QBs.
-
So far of the notable QBs: Leonard, Ward, McCall, Van Dyke, DJ U. and Gabriel have entered the portal. Outside of Leonard and Ward, non of these guys were higher than late day 3 picks. Van Dyke's stock has plummeted the past two seasons after a great start to his college career.

It's not a new forum, the same, they just change the title. Igo can do it if you PM him. That's what I did last year.
-
He's much better in the rushing attack than pass pro. Pass pro is where we need an upgrade.

Here's the reality: I have 9 teams likely needing a QB. That said, not all 9 will come from the draft, some in FA. Highest number of QBs taken in the first round in modern era is 6, happened just once...5 is a rarity too. So we are looking at worst the 5th or 6th QB at #33. So here's what we are looking at. So far, none of these guys have opted to stay to my knowledge. A few guys lower have entered the transfer portal. Would any of y'all take a shot on Penix Jr., McCarthy or Ewers at #33?

We've cut him twice and likely a third time if we sign Fluker.
-
Anything besides McCray. How dude gets cut and sitting on his couch to the starting lineup when we have 3 or 4 PS guards, some there all season, is beyond me.
-
I don't think anyone hates Young the person, it's that his limitations finally caught up with him at the top level of the sport. It's okay, the NFL washes out a lot of dudes and just because they can't make it in this League doesn't mean the fans hate them for it.
-
Not so. If Big Brass Balls really wanted to, we could get a QB at #33 or move up to the back end of the 1st round. Will he? Nope, it's not that we can't, he just won't because it's becoming clearer by the day that the Teppers were the driving force behind Young to begin with. His ego will not allow him to ditch Bryce this early.
-
Let's test this theory and see how patient he is with Bryce. If Bryce not only loses out the rest of the season AND still looks like he's not even at NFL backup caliber, then we should be making a QB change in the offseason, correct? It's been 40 years since a coach was fired this quickly, but Josh Rosen getting the boot was in recent years. Let's see how patient Tepper is with Young.

That's the reason it was so dumb to pull the plug on Reich mid-season. If he had his mind on letting Frank go, fine, do it at the end of the season. Our season, while 'mathematically' not eliminated from the playoffs, was over, but firing a coach at the quickest rate in 40 year is going to give some good candidates pause before coming here. I know, there's only 32 of these jobs, BUT unless a dude is unemployed, he can stick around his current gig until the next coaching cycle. Approximately 8 openings happen every year, so a calculating--smart coach will stay put and wait until the next cycle and stay away from this dumpster fire.

Tepper has a knee jerk reaction to bad decisions he made in the past. Because he held on to Rhule that 3rd season, Dave was determined not to 'waste' time this go around. The evidence is everywhere: QBs, philosophy, coaches etc.. The problem is that Tepper is NOT a football guy and approaching this venture into football like swinging a bat trying to hit a pinata. When he swings one direction and doesn't connect, he wildly swings in another direction. Another reason he's so damn focused on analytics. He doesn't intuitively 'get' football, so he relies on sets of data to help him make sense of things.
-
Of course coaching matters, but so does ownership, the GM and scouting departments. We suck at every level of football operations.

His flashes were still less than perfect balls. I would consider flashes 'ideal' passes, but too few in number. Flashes for Bryce are balls that could be prefect and happen to work, but could be better. The double move Chark had today is a perfect example. The DB was beat, period and while it was a completion for a big gain, a perfectly thrown ball has Chark waltzing in the end zone. As it was, the ball was under thrown. Chark had to slow down and turn around with the ball going out of the field of play instead leading his man in stride.

Nope, this is Tepper's bed and he has to lay in it. Choo-choo...all aboard the Bryce Young train wreck! Next stop is 1-12 with a final destination of 1-17.
-
Should have gone after Carr like Frank wanted. Nicole was infatuated with a certain rookie though.

We ran the ball better, that was about it. However, they were down to like LBs #6 or #7 the commentators kept saying, so that could have helped.
