  1. I'd rather draft a RG to learn behind Corbett for a season. Assuming he's healthy, his cap figure is too great to cut this season. Corbett is gone when the season is over. Moton theoretically could play for us in 2025 if we want him at that cap figure. If that's the case, we just drafted a guy that won't see the field much until 2026.
  2. Free agent LGs: Ford and Risner are former 2nd round picks. Anyone have the low down on these two? Good pick ups assuming they don't re-sign with their current team?
  3. Christensen is likely to move to RT after Moton, assuming we re-sign him and we can for cheap. As of now, he's the swing tackle. We probably cut Moton after this season. Cap savings are too great and good RTs aren't too hard to find at a much cheaper price tag. I'd rather go ahead and extend BC now and get out ahead of this. All that being said, addressing guard...LG in particular, should be paramount because no matter what happens to BC, he's not the LG of the future.
  4. There have been some very skinny WRs coming out of college lately. They seem to be holding up okay in the League. The biggest thing is knowing how not to take a big hit. These dudes know they are not turning into RBs after the catch and avoid as much contact as possible.
  5. Fields will make Atlanta competitive, but won't ever get them a ring.
  6. That eliminates Worthy to here then. By the time Bryce does his 15 yard drop and 5 bunny hops, Worthy would be 40 yards down field, not to mention the time it would take his floater to get there...then 60 yards down field for the speedster. The ball would fall 20 yards short.
  7. This still needs to happen. You think the dude decides when to play hard and when not to now? Let that man get set for life with this next contract and see if he's a dawg every down. Chances are the only dawg in him will be a Pomeranian.
  8. They will always be the Redskins to me, no matter what other stupid name they come up with. I honestly think some of the heat to change the name was to pressure Danny boy to sale. Commanders, The Football Team etc... is freaking lame.
  9. I was a stand firm guy at #9...as you know, BUT I said if we did move up Stroud was the guy. Young is a cerebral player and I guess folks thought that would mitigate his size disadvantage. I thought his deep ball was average and couldn't make all the throws, especially the deep outs in college. While he scrambled a bit more a 'Bama, he was never going to be a running threat. He has shocked me in being more durable than I thought. Young's ceiling, to me, is Kyler Murray. That's if he ever hits it.
  10. Nah, he's a tool. I get not wanting to do medicals for too many teams, but being the first to decline shows serious arrogance.
  11. They comped him to Luke. His medical is the only reason he's not a late 1st rounder. No way he lasts until the 3rd, especially after his Combine performance.
  12. Stroud wasn't the #1 pick and most teams had Young as the #1 QB. Point being, the first overall pick doesn't mean you get the best player in the long run. This year we could draft a rookie QB at any point in the first round IF we still had our pick. Chances are a QB taken later will outperform some of the higher drafted QBs. Mahomes was not the #1 overall pick, neither was Jackson, Allen etc... Only a few #1 overall picks at QB still start, most are backups at this point in their careers or have washed out of the League completely. Besides Young, there are 5 others and Stafford is on the down swing and probably will retire soon. Murray is mid-level as is Mayfield. Goff has rebounded nicely, but was shaky for a while. Then you have Lawrence and Burrow. Burrow showing the most by far of the former #1s. Again, the trade last year to move up was horrible and I think set us back at least 3 years.
  13. This scares me. I'm a production type of guy. Show me top-end consistency or improvement over time. A blip on the radar, appearing out of nowhere, is concerning to me.
  14. The scouting department projects out over a year in the draft process. The don't have just "this" year blinders. It's highly likely they knew how deep this QB draft (2024) would be and got impatient. Most likely Tepper breathing down their necks, but we'll never know for certain. Had we just held our water, we'd have all that draft capital back AND Moore, plus a shiny new QB.
  15. I disagree. The trade was an error,IMO. I was was against it from the rip. Getting Bryce only compounded it. Stroud would have struggled here too, but obviously not as bad as Young. Problem being, we were not a QB away as Fitterer hypothesized...far from it. I knew it, but our GM at the time seemingly didn't.
  16. He'd be nice to pair as a bookend to Brown. Seems too athletic to be stuck on the interior. Not to mention a little lite inside.
  17. Edge and DL drills are up. No shuttles or benches though. Chop Robinson ran a 4.48 40! Refer to the link in the OP and sort by position.
  18. I guess the Falcons didn't learn from our mistake. I heard on sports talk radio the Falcons is one of the teams that intend on interviewing Caleb Williams at the Combine. He ain't dropping to #8, so.....
  19. Agreed on Hartman, but as you said, only if we acquire more picks. With only six selections, someone that will surely only be a backup and not even contribute is not worth it. At least other positions backups can rotate in or contribute on STs.
  20. I hope not. Lacking a first round pick and Dave "taking a step back" bodes well for him skipping this year.
  21. True and unfortunately this isn't the draft to try to replace him. It's Brock Bowers and a bunch of JAGS.
  22. Interesting, we have a lot of the same guys on our radars, TEs and RBs. I think we have to take an edge for Burns insurance. Agreed on DBs, there is plenty of depth there, but with all the other needs, i have put them on the back burner in terms of researching them too. Estime is going to be gone as I think 4th round is the highest we take a RB. I also like Allen as a pure slobber-knocker back. Dude's as big or bigger than LBs. Any RB under 220 is off the table for me. Wiley is a TE we can probably grab in the 6th round. I would like a 1-tech since we are staying with a 3-4. Not too many nose tackles in this draft. T'Vondre Sweat would be ideal, but I doubt we take a DT in the second round, let alone at #33.
  23. I'll be looking at skill position results. We need play makers in spades.
  24. I won't have time to watch it. You can sometimes get a glimpse of coaches/scouts/GMs chatting it up with guys. They don't speak to everyone, but often times it's just guys talking and not necessarily meaning serious interest in that player.
  25. A nice read about the tagging process and how little exclusive and transitional tags are used. Something was in the water int 2021 where 3 players got long-term deals, however that's the exception in the process normally. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-franchise-tags-2024-values-deadlines/c5c7cd0cc95e017322eccbba
