The top of this draft is loaded at WR, so WR needy teams will be in luck. I'm almost certain we will offer Curtis a tepid (fair market) deal and he will end up testing FA, but I'm not sure he's going to bank like WRs in past years have considering this draft class. Ultimately I think it will be if he's willing to go elsewhere for not that much more money than we put on the table. I don't think a mega-payday is awaiting him.

About the same as last year when the opposite happened...the Combine happened, but many of the Pro Days were cancelled. Scouts get one shot instead of two. Crap, we had arguably our best draft in Franchise history with Pro Days largely cancelled, which is ironic. Honestly the biggest difference will be the lack of overall game tape in 2020. Remember a lot of conference cancelled especially outside of the Power 5 and even some of them had truncated seasons. That will be the biggest factor hindering scouts. A great deal of 2019 tape will be used to evaluate prospects.

Yeah, I'll take the current article over the 13 month old one. Doctor's said he make 100% recovery. There's no indication they were wrong and Tua was simply hand-wringing so soon post surgery. Months later during his Pro Day, he showed no ill-affect of hip stiffness or inability to rotate them sufficiently. Again, his stock value would have dropped fairly significantly. Scouts would have picked up on that immediately.

Absolutely ZERO way we take him in the first round no matter how far back we trade. I would have serious reservations about taking him at 39. Now, trade back again, picking up even more picks and taking him late 2nd round I would be fine with. Not completely happy, mind you, but not upset either.

Just pulled this from NFL. com about Tua reflecting on his struggles this season. I think his past injuries were mentioned once, and that was by the journalist, not by Tua himself. Tua admits the competition and defensive schemes at this level was the reason for his struggles. Oh yeah, also mentioned how much more he has to facilitate/being responsible for leading the offense even beginning in the huddle than when he was at 'Bama...his words, not mine. This is how I see it playing out. If Wilson and Lance are gone at #8, we trade back targeting Newman in the second round. However, if Trask makes it past the mid-round QB needy teams, especially past Indy at #21, I think we repackage some of that #8 trade back capital, jump back into the first round and take Trask.

If we trade back, Newman or Trask have to be the targets. I can't see us not drafting QB at all this year and anything beyond a 3rd rounder is pointless. We are looking for a starter, not a backup.

If Wilson and Lance are gone by #8, I'm down. I'm not sold on Fields at all. The Panthers better have a solid plan for our QB position beyond 2021 though. I can squeamishly endure one more year of Bridgewater, but nothing beyond that.

He had a couple of drops and am not sure if that's unlike him or not. I haven't followed him probably like you, but in a job interview like the Senior Bowl game, he definitely had some bumps.

Jones has less of an arm, even with a healthy lower body, and an overall worse athlete.

He can't drive the ball? I would disagree. He's not necessarily the running threat he used to be, but I put a lot of that on the competition at this level. His stock value should have plummeted if teams/scouts thought he couldn't drive the ball after the injury, but it didn't. He didn't show any ill affects of that during his Pro Day. He's not the hapless gimp you are trying to make him out to be.

Fair enough if he said so himself, but that purely goes to his scrambling abilities. All his major injuries at 'Bama were leg related and now he has to rely more on his arm talent leaning him more towards a pocket QB. So then, let's circle back to Mac Jones. If Mac Jones is a pure pocket guy that benefited from the likes of Smith, Waddle, Dickerson, Harris, Leatherwood etc,etc, etc... while their competition from week-to-week had some fraction of that talent, how does that translate to the NFL? I'd say marginally at best.

Athletically, 100% agreed. I think Jones' ceiling is very low. 'Bama QBs flourish in college because of the 4 & 5 star talent all around them. Heck, look at Tua. Before his injury looked like the best thing since sliced bread. He went to Miami with mixed results, at best, and I don't think it anything to do with lingering affects of his past injuries at 'Bama.

We were not at the top of his list, but that doesn't mean he didn't want to come here. The only team confirmed he blackballed was the Patriots.

I don't think it was a full tell. Honestly I think the Jets are in the market for a premier veteran QB. Unless they can get the Jags to budge out of the #1 spot for Trevor, I don't think think they necessarily draft QB and start from scratch all over again. Sets them back another 2-3 years.

Could LA get to the Super Bowl with Rogers at the helm, particularly in year one? Sure, but TB actually did it and LA is just trying to copy it. Imitation is the best form of flattery. However, when you are using THE standard as your reference point, be mindful that your expectations might not be met.

This is dumb. Only 3 scenarios here guys and NONE of them involve the Panthers. 1) Watson plays this season in Houston (Most likely) 2) Watson sits out the season 3) Houston caves to Watson's demands (least likely). Even then it won't be until MUCH later in the off season, after the draft and FA (probably during camp) when they realize his threat of sitting out is real.

(WE COULD USE A CB) Baron Browning (LB, Ohio State) - On two occasions, Browning made two strong tackles for loss in the run game. One coming early in the game was an effective job filling quickly and attacking downhill. The second came on a third and short play in the second quarter where he disrupted Larry Roundtree enough to slow down, allowing for his teammates to rally. KJ Britt (LB, Auburn) - Britt was all over the field during this game, with a plethora of really good plays. He was a strong tackler on rushing plays and tipped a pass in the red zone that was almost intercepted. (MLB IS A HUGE NEED) Amari Rodgers (WR, Clemson) - Rodgers didn’t do much in the first half, but shined big time in the third quarter. Twice Rodgers caught touchdown passes in the red zone, flashing his ability to create separation out of the slot. Demetric Felton (WR, UCLA) - Felton had an early touchdown reception that took advantage of a large cushion in off coverage. Felton also had other big receptions during the game, showing off his speed and route running. While Felton played running back at UCLA, he’ll likely be utilized as a moveable offensive weapon in the NFL. I agree with most of your guys. I don't know if Britt normally plays with that kind of motor and passion, but I liked his energy. I thought Keith Taylor played very well and was slightly better than St.-Juste. Big winner was Dillion Randunz. I think he may have given up one pressure and no sacks. He looked the best of the LTs. If we were in the market for a RT, Spencer Brown was solid and has a nasty streak. Dude got chippy with a couple of D-linemen. Heck if we miss out out our preferred LT, I wouldn't mind drafting this guy in the 3rd and moving Moton (almost a lock to get re-signed) to LT. Get sneaky and pay him RT money and hopefully receive solid LT play. Most of the IOL looked good except Deonte Brown. He will be a huge liability in the passing game. He played to his weight, meaning he looked slow and out matched in his pass protection. Athletic D-linemen will eat his lunch in the NFL on passing downs especially on stunts where he's going to need to move off his spot to pick up the unblocked rusher. Another disappointment was Paddy Fisher. He played slow...in actual speed and reaction time. I wouldn't be upset with either of the slot guys you mentioned, preferably Felton because of his 'tweener status, we could get him at least two rounds later than Rodgers who is a more of a pure slot weapon. Felton could actually fill the Samuel role if we lose Curtis in FA because he's played at bunch of RB and WR.

My point went over your head. Let me use the NBA as an example then. You have a good team, but can't seem to get over the hump in the playoffs for the ring, so said team goes out and tries to get Steph Curry because the Lakers got Labron that lead to a ring. My point, trying to buy a championship just because it seemingly worked for another team. The Chiefs can ultimately screw up that plan for the Bucs. Rogers is arguably better than Brady at this stage, but not by much and Aaron's edge is purely in his arm strength. However, that wasn't my point.

If that's the case and it comes to fruition, expect the 49ers to trade up to #7 with Detroit. As long as that trade occurs prior to draft day, I kind of wish it would. That way we know Detroit is out of the QB market (won't be moving up) and all be have to do is move 2 or 3 spots ourselves ahead of San Francisco to get our guy. The Bengals are not in the QB market and Philly seems to be trying to patch things up with Carson Wentz. If the 49ers move on from Garoppolo, they are the biggest threat to jump ahead of us.

Uh, he had a couple of D1 offers, but chose to go to NDSU because they are a powerhouse. He can't help that his conference chose to shut down the season. LOl! He won't last outside of the top 10. Teams could care less what you think of him. If we are dumb enough to pass on him at #8...assuming he's even available then, multiple teams will be on the phone to move up to snag him.
