The Elflein deal isn't bad money-wise, but the Erving contract is the one that's a little too pricey for me, even ranked 77th. There's 160 starting O-linemen in the League. So yeah, 77th seems high and there's no guarantee he'll even start,so......

Last year salaries for the following OL FAs: Miller $1.8M, Reed $1.4M and Schofield $1M. So yeah, the two new signees seem overpaid.

Nah, we only overpay for average O-linmen FAs. As for TE? We will wait until there's nothing left and have to re-sign Manhertz if he's still around. Remember, we signed that Seahawks castoff. Superb Owl!

I think the Texans are going after players they think can help the team and also keep Watson in the fold. It may just be me, but it seemed Watson relationship started to sour with Texans when his college and Texans teammate Deandre Hopkins was traded. The Texans may feel if they can add 2 or 3 ex-Tigers to the team, maybe Watson may tone down the rhetoric and opt to play for them.

I think you missed my point. If Elfien was all that, why would they draft his replacement? Doubtful it was a BPA scenario. Centers RARELY are atop the board in the first round--mid round or not.

I'm that dude that waits for things to go on sale and not jump on them as soon as they hit the shelf. Call it the cheapskate in me. No doubt we need OL depth and with our history of OL injuries we surely need positional flexibility. However, these guys (or guys like them) would be available days from now and probably at a discounted rate from what we intend to give them.

I don't hate the moves, just question the timing and the amount of money (very much related).

I still think we draft a minimum of 2 OL next month. One of which, being a starting LT (unless we sign one by then).

So we signed a LG and RG, Paradis is in place as well as Moton Tagged. LT in the draft?

I've been mocking 2-3 OLs in the draft because I figured we would not be signing any starting caliber FAs on the OL. Backups, sure...but not bonafide starters.

The Vikings gave up on him only after a few seasons and drafted the center from NCSU, kicking Elfein to LG. The Jets didn't think much of him apparently.

Seemed like he was a promising prospect coming out of college but can't stay on the field getting bit by the injury bug nearly every season since being drafted. I think it's weird to jump on a guy that quickly that is injury-plagued, versatile or not. While the contract isn't bad for the position, it seems to be for this particular player.

WOW! For someone putting a dude under the microscope during his Pro Day and knocking his lack of games, you sure pulled a 180 there, lol! Trevor needs to work on his ball placement in the endzone and on the left side too. I guess all those games hurt Trevor's accuracy and he should have opted out to work on his Pro Day! /end discussion

Trevor Lawrence had a worse Pro day than Trey Lance...FACT! Trevor missed almost all of his to the left...FACT! Trevor only had one legit drop by his HIS WRs. He threw a deep ball short where the WR had to turn and wait for the ball. FACT! He missed deep on another deep ball, wrong shoulder and behind...FACT. A WR had to make a diving grab on an ant-burner FACT! Trevor never had a simulated pass rush on ANY throw...FACT. I counted counted 15 incomplete passes. Trey had 8. I didn't count the passes, but it was said to be 52 for Trevor. Lance had 65. I forgot to mention he STURGGLED to keep his WRs in bounds during the redzone drills. Do I need to keep on or do you just want to admit you don't like Trey Lance and will do anything to tear down the kid?

Not what I had in mind, but I can take a joke.
