  1. Yes, we are currently in line for an extra 5th. However, we lost our 7th...which is to say we lost a good street FA.
  2. PLEASE take the job if offered Eric so the Huddle can get on with their lives!
  3. I'm still amazed that people think adding Bridgewater moves the trade needle one centimeter.
  4. I have 7 teams that should be ahead of us before we even enter the conversation: Dolphins, Jets both already mentioned) Patriots, No Names, Broncos, 49ers and Cowboys.
  5. The relationship has soured so much as long as the trade isn't within the division, they shouldn't blink an eye at dealing with another AFC team.
  6. I get it, but if he REALLY wants out of Houston that bad, he's not going to be too choosy. That was my point. Watson is going to have some say, but ultimately he's going to take some offer that the Texans are comfortable with to. The Texans can play hardball as well.
  7. So, he wants out of Houston so bad that he'll refuse to get traded to some team...ANY team? Agreed he has to waive the 'no trade' clause, but if he has a ticket out of Houston I doubt he'll turn it down even if it were to a crumby team such as the Jets.
  8. ...and watch the asking price increase. If we don't have the ammunition now, just wait until the negotiations get heated between the handful of teams that can actually pull off the trade.
  9. The first four yes, and those were low draft picks because this team was decent. You only get CMC and Brown when you suck. So if you trade a few of our current building block and are decent, you get okay draft position, which you get decent players.
  10. I'm for drafting a MLB, just not at #8. Parsons is no Luke...very good, but not a generational-type talent.
  11. Draft picks #7, #10, #24 and #199 of the remaining QBs in the playoffs. Watson was a 12th pick. So it comes down to skills, coaching and organizational decisions that determines a QBs success. Yes, there are some busts, but many times guys drafted to be franchise QBs are let down by their organization rather than just not being all that good themselves.
  12. You could be right there, yet a team like the Panthers that doesn't have nearly the resources are going to actually pull off the deal?
  13. This alone says you are more invested in his stardom than the Panthers.
  14. I normally don't agree with this guy, but he actually makes sense this time. So you are saying get Watson and trade what few pieces that we have, the very ones that made us somewhat competitive last year.
  15. Say if the Texans/Watson "relationship" gets so toxic they are forced to outright cut him and he decides to come here (for some odd reason) and only wants $20 million a year. I'm all for it. However, being the Huddle, this Watson debate will undoubtedly get twisted. It's only a matter of time.
  16. And the Huddle would have melted down given Cam's situation. Not saying it would have been a bad move at all, but the Cam crowd would have blasted the organization for giving up on Newton too soon.
  17. Yep, those are the very ones that are finally giving us some breathing room.
  18. You mean CMC's and Shaq's? Those are new deals. They are on the books for a while. Also, have you even seen Watson's contract? Cap friendly this year before hitting ~$40 million a year after that. But I get it, he's going to come here, rip up his contract and graciously take a huge pay cut just because the Huddle wants it so.
  19. After getting Watson and being cap strapped for the foreseeable future, the same people who are saying walk over broken glass an molten hot coals barefoot to make this happen will be the same ones saying we ruined another QBs career when we don't have the resources to put top-tier talent in other spots on this roster.
  20. AND they have the cap space, draft capital and equally young QBs to swap in such a trade. WE CAN'T DO IT. Dream people. Some folks will always chase a big name, ramifications and consequences be damned. Just got rid of Hurney, Just got of rid of most of our dead cap, and finally will have some decent cap space. Nope, chase the shiny object.
  21. Consider it, yes, but it will not happen. We finally got rid of Hurney just to screw up our next 2-3 drafts? It makes no sense.
  22. I wouldn't be totally opposed to Humphrey in the 2nd round if he fell to us. I'm looking for a LT there, but if the value isn't there for a LT and Humphrey is still on the board...the choice would be obvious. I definitely want a center this draft, however I am targeting one in the middle rounds.
