  1. Switch Dazz Newsome for a corner at #153 (like Greg Newsome) and that would be .
  2. Sacks on Brady, Brees, Rogers, Stafford and Ryan...awesome!
  3. Nice video interview with Trey Lance's college HC: NDSUs Head Coach on Trey Lance
  4. Interesting thought, Jimmy G is the preferred guy for the Pats and Maiota ends up with the 49ers. It's a great fit for the players and teams alike. Mariota could be really good in Shanahan's offense, shades from his Oregon days.
  5. As I've said before, the 49ers are the only team that really makes sense to me. That's the reason I'm hoping they trade for a QB. I doubt the Patriots jump up all the way from #15. Denver seems to be giving Lock another look. I really can't see anyone else.
  6. Give him credit, he handed Jacksonville Trevor Lawrence.
  7. Why did they hire Hurney again? It seems like they are undercutting him with every front office hire. Seemingly a cushy job as more people are brought on board and have his duties delegated away. Ron's personal emotional support coordinator?
  8. I'm thinking no as well, but the Eagles have to be content with their QB room and that doesn't happen until Wentz is shipped out of town. In the mean time, Hurts is already acting like the starting QB: Hurts Gathering Eagles WRs to Build Chemistry in Offseason.
  9. So if Foles goes back to the Eagles and they have Hurts, do the Eagles still draft a QB? I think Foles knows he'd be a bridge QB and Hurts would be the heir apparent. Drafting another young QB makes little sense, IMO.
  10. If I'm reaching for a tackle at #39, it isn't Carman. Switch Humphrey and Carman and I'm good with that. Doubtful Humphrey lasts until #73. Some BBs have him as the top center over Dickerson. I think they are very close, so call them 1 and 1a. Myers (#3) is likely the best center on the board at #73. Also, I don't think we wait until #223 to address corner, maybe as a second corner selection, bu not as the only CB drafted. With all the other concerns, TE is a luxury pick and WR is a semi-luxury pick. I do like the Moses pick because ILB is definitely a need.
  11. We all know why Matt Kalil came here, it was a heavy lobbing job by Ryan at it's core. A popular captain and fixture on the team who was able to persuade someone in the front office. If Ryan wasn't here, I'm not sure Matt would have been here either.
  12. I'm really curious as to your next 50 (top 100). There are several guys I like that I feel are in that 50-75 range.
  13. You have heard why Russell Wilson potentially wants out of Seattle right? Dude knows exactly how many sacks he's taken and is none too happy about it.
  14. This why I lol'ed when some mocks have us trading up for, not Wilson, not Lance, but for Fields. He's got the biggest bust potential of the 3, IMO.
  15. It does, but the benefit of the savings by cutting them outweighs the dead cap dollars. Agreed, it can accumulate quickly though with just a few moves.
  16. Designating Paradis and Short as post June 1 cuts along ditching Weatherly & Palardy frees up nearly $30M in cap space. Add that to the $12M in current cap space and we are looking at roughly $42M heading into FA. That's not too shabby. If Fitts spends wisely, we can finally dig out from the mess Hurney kept us in.
  17. Luke is the only significant dead money currently at $7.1M, which accounts for nearly 80% of the dead money SO FAR this year. He's off the books in 2022.
  18. Kerr graded out very highly this past season when healthy. Injuries/Covid curtailed what could have been a really nice year overall. We could extend him now, say 2-years, based off his past deal rather than him breaking out in 'contract year play' and then potentially being too pricey when he hits FA. His current contract is a $1.5M average. I'd be willing to extend him at that price now, especially after the promise he showed. We generally only keep 4 DTs on the 53 man roster along with a DE that is able to move inside. We currently have that with Efe. I agree we need a starting 3-tech to replace KK, but really if we keep Kerr and Efe in the fold, that's all the team really is lacking.
  19. Yup, and use the cap savings from dumping KK to extend Kerr (final year). That way we have Brown, Roy and Kerr under wraps for the next few years. Either we attempt to turn Obada into a full-time 3-tech and/or draft a 3-tech...at any rate, the interior DL will be set for the foreseeable future.
  20. I don't even want Fields at #8, let alone trading up for him. A solid NO for me.
  21. We address this need in FA. A weak TE class overall (except the top couple guys) and we need a player that can contribute immediately, especially if we draft a rookie QB. We don't the rookie QB's security blanket requiring training wheels too. More than enough serviceable guys in FA this year to meet that need and can be signed to reasonable contracts.
  22. I don't get to tell my boss what I think the future of the company should be. Why are athletes any different? Just because they are paid millions that means they get to tell their superiors how to run their organizations? Nope, that's not how business works. Companies have structural hierarchies for a reason. The NFL is still a business at its core and the players--'employees' need to understand their role in the organization. If they want a NFL executive job, retire first and then give it a go. Don't try to be a player/GM. Sure that works in Madden, but not in real life.
  23. A mid-tier guy: nothing more, nothing less. TE isn't a staple in Joe Brady's offense, so why pay the big bucks? However, when called upon he needs to be reliable. Thus, see my first sentence.
