  1. I know he can inside on passing downs, but he's too slight to be a rushing DT. What, all of 280 pounds?
  2. We need a DT signing before the draft. Stupid short-handed at that spot, unless anyone is banking on Panasiuk to be a key contributor. If his name doesn't ring a bell, he was on the practice squad most of last season. Yeah, that's our #3 DT right now and an injury away for starting. I'm all for drafting a DT, but I would rather not double dip at that position considering all the needs we still have left to fill in the draft.
  3. I forgot about the cap hit that goes along with a trade. So I guess we are stuck with middle-of-the-road Shaq for the next couple of years.
  4. LOL, good luck with all of that. Besides, I doubt Bed Bath and Beyond would honor the coupon for Grier.
  5. Yep, with our luck he'll just play well enough to seek a big payday. I'd rather offload him, get an extra draft pick and draft another corner this year. One that may not be quite as fast, sure, but a hard-nose tackler and stellar in coverage. This class is LOADED!
  6. So what if we get a rookie QB this year? Start him and let him get shell shocked or throw Walker/Grier out there as sacrificial offerings? Our OL is still very much a work in progress. You are all about some tanking, BTW.
  7. Wow, I'd guess you'd start Grier over Teddy then, huh? I'm not his biggest fan, but you are putting him in the Jimmy Clausen category as simply a putrid QB.
  8. Eh, I think we still could upgrade. He will always be a timid shoestring tackler.
  9. The reason I didn't mention him is we need to have a fall back plan. Would it be ideal for TB to be the starter next fall? No, but what would be less ideal is we move him and things don't go to plan. If we move TB, we need to have his replacement here first.
  10. In exchange for another player or to pick up extra draft picks. I have 6 (with explanations): -Shaq Thompson: Overpriced with average production -Greg Little: Can't stay healthy and hasn't lived up to his potential -Ian Thomas: Unable to take the next step; destined to be a #2 guy his whole career -Donte Jackson: Yeah he has speed, but can't tackle, can't stay healthy and coverage skills is marginal at best. -Will Grier: Third round draft pick warming the bench, enough said. -Marquis Haynes: Nothing more than a situational (undersized) pass rusher that hits FA next year. Get something for him now. Who would you attempt to shop before the draft?
  11. Ben Mason from Michigan is a hoss. He could fill that FB, H-back, short yardage/goal line void left by Armah leaving in FA. He's the top rated FB on some boards. Totally worth one of those 6th round comp picks.
  12. I wouldn't mind shopping Ian Thomas now. He's a placeholder at this point and we should move him while he has some value rather than watching from the sidelines all season. A player-for-player swap or a 7th rounder would work. We still have a few more holes on the team than draft picks, but that gap is shrinking...thankfully.
  13. Or we could use one of the 6th rounds on one and go really cheap.
  14. I'm still looking for an OT in the 2nd. We just signed Fox and still have Larkin. There's some depth at DE. OT? We have Scott and Little. No thanks! I'm hoping that either Cosmi or Randunz will be there at #39.
  15. For those wanting Neal, he signed with the Cowgirls. Besides, we really need to sign a DT to keep our options open during the draft and safety is merely on the wish list. If no FA DT is signed, we will have to spend a day 2 or early day 3 selection on DT.
  16. For the record, I am 100% against moving up to #3 even at the risk of missing out on one of the 'big four' QBs. There's too much talent in the top 10 to say you HAVE to move up and likewise is dumb to mortgage future first rounders for one player.
  17. Here's another one that's interesting:
  18. I can't remember any team intentionally sitting a top 4 pick for 1-2 years. I'm sure it's happened, but that's a TON of draft capital to be sitting on the pine, especially for a new coaching staff. I know Atlanta hates us, but they would be better suited to trade out of #4 to a QB needy team (besides the Panthers) opposed to spiting us by sitting their #1 pick for up to two years. That's just bass ackwards.
  19. Sewell isn't even the consensus #1 tackle. If Salter's arms were a few inches longer, he'd be the #1 LT more so than he is now various BBs. The Bengals have choices. If the Jets stick with Darold and take Sewell, we may not even have to trade up at all. That's one QB available that most people didn't expect to be there.
  20. No need to trade up to #3. Cincy's #5 is all we to move up to get Lance or Fields. There is no chance QBs go 1,2,3,4...repeat ZERO. Actually little chance Detroit or Philly go QB either. However, I'm not sure we take the chance that someone trades into one of those spots though. That's where the real risk lies.
  21. After running a 4.25, Stokes will not last until #73.
  22. A little different one since we have added players in FA. No longer do I feel the need to draft a TE or 3 O-linemen. Seems odd, but it's still defense heavy even after last year's draft. In addition the the obvious QB and LT, I drafted: CB (outside), nickel CB, FS, 3-tech DT, NT, LB/S hybrid with Stevens and C/G with Meinerz. Solid overall!
  23. It would have to be the 3rd, he won't make it until the 4th. Some team may even take him late 2nd. it weird to se a guard with such an impressive highlight film. It's fun to re-watch. I laugh through most of it as he straight punks so many defensive players. I've never seen so many guys get laid out by an O-lineman before.
  24. Not worth #8; bigger needs in the second than safety and will be LONG gone by the 3rd round.
  25. He's going to have to block some. The team isn't going to trot him on the field only in 3rd and long situations. Grated, he's a pass cathcing TE, but even those guys have to do some dirty work now and again.
