  1. Penix gives the Falcons Vick vibes.
  2. Called it, Penix before McCarthy. Shocked it was the Falcons though.
  3. I was listening to a radio show today and they discussed QBs at length. Maye, was the biggest boom or bust prospect of the big 6. McCarthy was the biggest question mark. He played with an elite OL, dominant run game and heck of a head coach. What would he look like on a, say. 1-15 NFL team? Nix, while universally QB6, they said at least you know what you are getting...solid, steady, yet unspectacular. Obviously know Williams and Daniels are going off the board #1, #2. Maye, may (pun), not be QB3 and that also may not be the Patriots with the third selection. For all the UNC homers around here, Drake isn't the lock he was looking like months ago. People have picked his game apart and come away less than blown away.
  4. Yup, certain names are starting to get attached to teams now. I've also heard don't be shocked if Penix goes ahead pf McCarthy. Personally, I've always had Penix higher. For whatever reason about a month ago McCarthy caught fire, but that fire seems to be smoldering a bit now. Penix is being talked about to either the Vikings or Raiders and Nix to the Broncos, but that would be a later trade, not in the first round.
  5. Over/under Qbs taken tonight: 4.5 What y'all got?
  6. In order to get what you are saying the double dip need to be two of the first three picks. You can't count on late round guys. Again, if the board says another WR is the BPA, then I'm all for it. I don't want to reach just so the WR room can be deeper--rather have more bodies. Especially when a guy at another position is ranked higher on our board.
  7. We need to draft a WR early and then if the board later on says a WR is the BPA, then we double dip. Don't force it for the sake of filling out position group. You always have UFAs for that.
  8. Yup, several teams at the end of round one could end up taking a WR. I think this public leak is smoke to have one of those teams who would otherwise consider WR in the second round think about prioritize wideout over another position because XL won't be there when they pick again. In other words, force a team to reach for XL and have another player drop to Carolina who the Panthers really want.
  9. I usually only double dip at WR in a trade back with an additional pick or two in my mocks.
  10. The second round is solid most of the way through. Unless a stud falls, the next tier is something like 20 picks deep.
  11. Traded back from #39 got Pearsall at #44 AND added two extra picks.
  12. Same website. Average Big Board is #47 and average mock is #51 to the Steelers. Mocks can be realistic or completely nonsensical and everything in between. I can can trade to #1 overall and have the Panthers take Caleb Williams. Realistic? Not a damn chance.
  13. Those are mock drafts and in a scenario where there is a crazy run on WRs, he could sneak into the back half of the first round. Is that likely? I'd put a 1% chance on it. I'm familiar with that draft site and they have HUNDREDS of mock drafts, so yes, you can find some with some outliers.
  14. Like you said, the second round is loaded, so moving back a few spots isn't going to hurt. If we aren't in love with the pick at #33 or #39, move back. I would really like another 3rd or 4th rounder this draft.
  15. A couple of things: -Zack Wilson got traded to the Broncos for a 6th rounder. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39998645/jets-trading-qb-zach-wilson-broncos-source-says -Matty Ice officially retires and does so a Falcon. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39995362/matt-ryan-former-qb-falcons-colts-officially-retires
  16. #1-WR #2-CB #3-Edge #4-TE #5-C #6-RB #7-ILB #8-DL We won't pick in order of need...obviously, but if we at least hit each position, I'll feel better about the team post draft.
  17. I have not...anywhere. He's more likely to slip to the 3rd than go in the 1st.
  18. Just some samplings: NOBODY is saying this dude is worthy of the #33 pick.
  19. To set things in perspective, I wouldn't dislike drafting the kid, but #33 is too high. I'd be more okay at #39 and I'd run to the podium at #65. At pick #33, we need an immediate contributor. I'd be happy with: Wilson, Leggette, Pearsall or McKinstry, Legette, Frazier etc.. As long as he's not our top pick. He's got too much refining to do.
