  1. Nope, lost them via other trades, FYI. Anyway, multiple 6th and 7th rounders don't make up for zero day 2 picks.
  2. Sam is a looking like a real-deal franchise QB. That deal was a no-brainer. It also wasn't a knee-jerk reaction to an injury. Potential franchise QB for a 2nd rounder is a steal if it works out. A troubled CB for a 3rd is okay, but we could as easily filled by going another route. Dude was in the dog house in Jax. Urban could be a prick or maybe there's something to it.
  3. If I remember correctly, him being a reluctant tackler kind of soured me on him coming out of the draft. This scouting report backs that up: C.J. Henderson College Scouting Report Hopefully he has fixed some of these things.
  4. I get it, but that is spent capital and using your potential capital. Those are retrofit fixes for things this year, it doesn't help us at all with future needs such as OL.
  5. Yeah, He's gong to have to work magic to get some Day 2 picks as both are now gone. I mean, even 10 day 3 picks won't make up for the loss of both our 2nd and 3rd round selections.
  6. ^^^This. Not a Robby hater whatsoever, but he really is mainly just a deep threat.
  7. Agreed, but as with Samuel, you have to let some walk. This defense can't, by and large, be coming up for contract at the same time in a couple of years with us retaining every piece along the way. We've already sunk a ton of money in Shaq and just think of all the young guys that come up for contract over the next couple of years. D-Jax has improved his game, but he's not close to irreplaceable.
  8. While this is great, we need to recoup this pick somehow. Now we are missing a 2nd AND 3rd next year.
  9. Yeah, he'll be Curtis Samuel part II. He has improved his play, but he'll be looking for a LOT more money than he's worth and won't be worth the cap commitment for us.
  10. There's enough TE FA JAGs (just a guy) out there that if Tremble and Thomas can't get it done, we can sign one for cheap. We can use Marshall like a TE in passing situations.
  11. Agreed, that joke got old the minute it was uttered the first time.
  12. Did Daley screw up? It looked like he intentionally passed off his man to where the center SHOULD have been. Now if he passed off his man and Paradis was supposed to help Miller with a double team, then that's on Daley, but it sure looks like Paradis was the engine in that train wreck.
  13. Why was Paradis moving down to double team leaving the middle exposed to a stunt or delayed blitz? That made zero sense.
  14. My point being, NO rookie was an option as the team was obviously vested in trading for a veteran. Not Lance, not Fields and honestly probably not Wilson even had he dropped. Lawrence may have been the only palatable rookie and he was completely out of reach. It seems the team was unwilling to waste an entire season for a rookie to take their NFL lumps with OJT. Yes, 9 times out of 10 you essentially flush your season down the toilet when starting a rookie QB. Rhule obviously had zero interest in doing that. It was the correct strategy in hindsight, no question.
  15. Lance- Pro day 1: March 12th Darnold to Panthers: April 5th Lance Pro day 2: April 19th Could he have been an ill-fit for Brady's offense? Possibly, however, you can see why it was irrelevant to go to Lance's second pro day.
  16. Hadn't the organization already seemed entrenched on acquiring a veteran by that point? I think all rookies were all the table by then. It wasn't a slight on Lance as much as it was the team had a different approach to how they wanted to move forward.
  17. In the early 90's, Charlotte by itself was much too small to be considered for a NFL franchise. Some people don't realize how much Charlotte has grown over the past 25 year. Today, yeah, Charlotte's metro area could support a NFL team based on population alone. The catch is, most of the transplants (and there's TON of them) still pull for other teams as I mentioned earlier.
  18. Agreed, there's a lot more to QB-ing than a pretty deep ball. Take note Howell fanboys...
  19. I had a feeling about Trevor and the very reason why I cringed when people were uttering crazy talk to move up to #1 to get him pre-draft. There's one thing about Clemson players, once they leave that tight-knit, well-oiled football factory, they flame out in the NFL when they have to prove themselves as an individual.
  20. I know we passed on Fields at #8, but remember the Bears gave up a next years FIRST and FOURTH to move up to get him. I know it's only one game, but if he is a bust, the Bears are stuck with him at least until 2023 before they can replace him via the draft. Ouch....
  21. The melt down over Fields when we drafted Horn was epic. Despite JC's injury, it was the right move by the Panthers.
  22. That's funny, most of "Charlotte" now pulls for teams north of Virginia. It wasn't that way in 1995. Look at the stands when the Steelers, Eagles, No-Names, Patriots and New York teams (all 3) come to town. Tell me I'm wrong. They travel from Charlotte's burbs to support their hometown teams, not flying in from up north. More, now than ever, it needs to be the Carolina Panthers.
  23. Great news, now the main concern is we don't bring him back too quickly where he tweaks it.
