  1. Mr. Lockhart's resume is impeccable (includes 2+ years as White House Press Secretary for President Clinton) and his integrity is beyond reproach. This is hilarious!!!!!! Anyway, I know what the 'official narrative' was. Richardson resigned in shame and the NFL graciously excepted his resignation. Remember, Jerry was doing what all NFL owners do when under the spotlight, they launch an internal investigation. There was no mention of Jerry selling the team up to the point the League stepped in. In a stunning turn of events, once the League stepped in, Jerry suddenly felt compelled to sell the team. Jerry loved this organization and it would have taken more than public scrutiny for him to suddenly let go. The misdeeds had already been leaked to the media, so the airing of the dirty laundry wasn't the reason for the sudden urge to sell. I bet you think Tom Brady coming back had nothing to do Bruce Arians stepping away too. You know the official narrative out of the Bucs organization is Bruce decided it was time to hand over the reins to someone else. The timing of Bruce stepping aside and Tom un-retiring was purely coincidence.
  2. Lol, you believe everything the media says. In a related story, Jeffery Epstein killed himself and OJ Simpson is innocent.
  3. JR had his faults, but I still believe that Richardson was forced out more so than he bowed out completely of his own willingness. I was nearly certain other NFL owners had some dirt on them too (boy, do they EVER) but the moral outrage over the--while wrong-- minor transgressions seemed too much like a witch hunt to me. While I agree it was about time to Jerry to turn over the keys to someone else, the way it went down was dubious at best. Where would we be today if Jerry wasn't nudged out the door? Who knows, but honestly could it be much worse? Jerry's true handpicked choice in successor couldn't have been much worse than David Tepper. Tepper has been an absolute disaster since the NFL chose him...ooops um, since he had the winning bid to buy the Panthers.
  4. No matter the hype, centers are not worthy of top 20 picks, so this was predictable. Back end of round one is their starting point. That's when some guys here were saying early in the offseason we should take Linderbaum at #6 or trade back a few picks and take him them, I was saying the value isn't there that early.
  5. Fix everything else and get our QB in 2023. Best strategy for this team, meaning...it will never happen.
  6. I was listening to sports talk radio last night on the way home from work and heard the most depressing statement any Panthers fan could bare to hear, with Arains stepping away from coaching "Matt Rhule is the longest tenured coach in the NFCS." I didn't know weather to cry or run somebody else off the road.
  7. This is one of the better ones in recent years. For the past several drafts they have been tacky to down right ugly!
  8. No, that means we miss out on the LT, unless we take a second tier one.
  9. All those team reps listed are there for him as a 2nd round prospect. The Steelers and Saints are far enough back they may take him in round 1 if they are impressed enough. As QB4, he shouldn't be there at the end of round 2 and they know that.
  10. I do not want either PJ Walker or Sam Darnold on this roster for 2023. Embrace the suck y'all so we can get past this Rhule/Darnold (Walker) hurdle. Stop looking for stopgaps, that will only prolong the agony.
  11. I've never disliked any of our HC's, even as their success dwindled...until now. I was ambivalent about Seifert, but Capers, Fox and Rivera I all thought were good coaches and better men. Once we FINALLY get rid of Rhule, I don't think anyone really would care if you did a 'where are they now?' thread on Rhule. It may be your most pooed thread of all time, actually. Oh, and good for Foxy! He's an okay NFL TV personality, but that's not his strong suit.
  12. Eh, they are correct a good bit, but they have their misses too. They said we were 100% out of the Watson sweepstakes when it was down to 4 teams, even before Cleveland got ax...supposedly. A few days later we got eliminated only for Watson to 'back' to Cleveland.
  13. Here's 3 reason I don't want Jimmy G. 1) He's better than Darnold, but not a huge upgrade, which means he will get out of the basement, but only to the bottom floor of the house. 2) Those few extra wins will cost us draft spots in the 2023 draft where we actually NEED to draft a QB early. 3) Regarding the FEW extra wins, Rhule can point to the team trending in the right direction and Tepper keeps this fool around another year. So no to Jimmy G, Baker Mayfield or any other veteran that might get Darnold and Matt Rule off the hook. Their marriage was doomed from the rip, so they have to stick through it one more year before they can get rid of one another. Yes, it will be rough for us fans, but if Cincy, Clevleand, Buffalo can stink for decades, we can suck it up for one more year.
  14. My biggest worry is the Giants at #5. I know they have a LT already, but I think they will take Ickey as a guard.
  15. Yup, he's still my LT1. Neal is the most polished, but lacks the dog it takes to be elite in the NFL and thus the lowest ceiling. Cross is the best pass-pro now but he needs to beef up and work on his run blocking. Ickey is a beast in run blocking, has the dog mentality and will outwork the defender. Even though he's not the most polished pass-pro prospect right now, he could be better than Neal in a year or two and eventually be an All-pro.
  16. First round, yes, but how high? I'd say mid-to-late. The only way that all 3 QBs go in the top 20 is if one is taken in the top 5. Then teams thinking QB will go into panic mode and trade up, which for this QB class, is completely ridiculous.
  17. If 3 QBs in this weak class go in the top 6, I'll run around my neighborhood naked and screaming the sky is falling.
  18. So we are down to a 'geriatric' Brown or 'forever-hurt' Fisher...great!
  19. He also said NONE of these guys are top 10 talent. I agree. Will one go in the top 10? Sure, some teams are desperate including our very own. But when I, and a lot of guys on this board, have said this is a bad QB class...apparently Simms agrees.
  20. That had better be a conditional 1st. Dude is hurt, so there ought to be some strings attached.
  21. He wasn't a problem child until Cleveland went squishy on him. The moment things went a little sour, management started to blame Baker. Yes, at the point your employer starts blaming you for all their ills, people tend tend to get a little defensive. Baker is no different.
  22. I'd be down with that, especially if the OTs are gone.
  23. So you are saying smokescreen or Rhule thinks he can pull off a successful season. Even Matt Rhule isn't dumb enough to think this is a playoff team with a rookie QB.
