  1. Yep, Brees' arm has lost something over the past few seasons. Not sure it would be worth anything other than a) not having Darnold start and b) giving Corrral one of the best mentors he could possibly wish for. For a season or two I wouldn't hate the idea if the money wasn't ridiculous. The down side is having Brees would definitely make us good enough for Rhule to keep his job. Still probably not a playoff team, but probably on the cusp. A solid 4 more wins than Darnold.
  2. Lol, your dumd @ss woke self don't even see how stupidly ridiculous your post is. The Panthers have never been close to the Packers organization, so of course players tend to have better careers there. Back to the pit where the 10 or so of you stroke each other off.
  3. His life is better off for it. The Panthers would have screwed up his career. In Green Bay he had a future HOFer throwing to him, competent coaching staffs and a solid front office. Imagine if KB went to the Packers? Heck, he may not be washed up like he is right now and further more, be having a decent career.
  4. Yeah, I was wanting to cut him last season and Rhule turns around a gives the man a brand new contract.
  5. The staff have said they want to focus more on the run. They need to put their money where mouth's are. I mean, the FB can play some TE too in 2-3 TE sets. I'd much just rather have a true FB1 that can also be TE3 than a TE3 that plays fullback like a FB2 (If teams carried a backup fullback). I think you get my point, though.
  6. Yep, if we are going to carry a FB, actually use the guy a decent amount and get a true FB while they are at it. Ricci isn't it. This guy isn't it either. I'm tired of us using scrub TEs and fancying them as adequate H-backs/FBs.
  7. This year I think Mays will be the backup RG. My question is who is the starting LG? Elf, Erving, BC or Brown? I mean Mays isn't out of the question, but he's best suited to stay on the right side where he's taken a majority of his snaps, IIRC. Ultimately I'd like to see either BC or Brown win LG as the other two are out the door after this season. Speaking of which, if either of those two (Erving, Elflein) can't win the starting LG spot, that's a LOT of money tied up into backups. Yes, their dead cap is significant enough that riding the bench is better than cutting them outright. Outside of Moton, last year's OL starters will likely be backups this year and last year's backups are likely cut after camp. What difference one year makes!
  8. How about this for an oxymoron: I am excited about the Carolina Panthers offensive line.
  9. Yuck. Unless he's playing on the line standing up. If his hand is in the dirt, I don't like it.
  10. While we don't have any dead cap for 2023 yet, there will be some as we have to clear some cap space. Clearing cap space entails cutting people which leads to dead cap most of the time. So it's coming.
  11. I was going to say 7 wins, but 6.5 is too close. If it would have been 5.5 for the Panthers I would feel comfortable taking the over.
  12. No QBs in those top 34. I wonder what the Steelers were thinking?
  13. Let's see how the Raiders do this year. Now they got some weapons for Carr I would be willing to bet not only do they make the playoffs, but make a deep run unless they have to play either the Bills or Chiefs in the first couple of rounds. Sure, if there was a Mahommes-esque player in every draft Corral would be a temporary starter or just a backup, but as we know dynamic QB1s don't come around very often. To pretend there are would be very disingenuous. You have to look no further than this draft to prove that.
  14. If LSU is "DB-U", the Panthers are the NFL LSU equivalent. Sure, why not have an even 12 CBs on the roster going into camp?
  15. I still want to know who thought this was a good idea? I mean, $11M for this year is bad enough, but 2023? Freaking $22M...for Robby Anderson???????
  16. I'd take Derek Carr 2.0. Not every team is getting a Mahommes or Josh Allen, so a week-to-week consistent starter, if yet unspectacular, is completely okay with me.
  17. Last year's schedule leak was completely bogus.
  18. I posted this recently in the draft subforum, but I think people stopped checking on that a couple weeks ago once the draft was over, so enjoy...
  19. Pretty much a stalemate. I think JJ clearly got the best of Ickey twice. However, two plays in an entire game versus a top edge rusher? Not perfect obviously, but pretty damn solid.
  20. Roll with this group. Our cap situation sucks next year and any rolled over cap will be greatly needed. Tepper has given Rhule a vote of confidence for this season, so ol' Matty boy isn't pressed to make hasty decisions...such as trading for Jimmy G. or Mayfield.
  21. I've already said he's the UDFA that makes the team...barring injury. He's got to beat out Thompson and Sullivan for TE3. REALLY?
  22. Dwight Stone was a good returner for us and he was in his 30's. Ageism is real. Don't hate on older folks....
  23. And Rhule gets the demotion....out of Charlotte.
