  1. Yeah, I'm super torn on this matter. I think everyone wants to keep Burns, but his HUGE payday around the corner and the haul in draft capital we could get for him...not to mention the much needed cap space is very hard to pass up.
  2. Look at the Jets and how picking a QB about every year or so has worked out for them! Nobody doubts this team DESPERATELY needs a franchise QB, but desperation usually makes for bad mistakes.
  3. It's too early in the season to study the top 10 prospects because they will shuffle a lot before the end of the season. I will say stats sometimes don't tell the entire story, but most of the time, numbers don't lie. I'm not saying the kid is horrible, but is he worth a top 10 pick if it comes to that? Right now, I would say no.
  4. It's literally a crap shoot at QB. Even taking the #1 overall prospect at QB guarantees you zilch. The bust rate of QBs is crazy. I get the concept you can't be scared to take a swing and miss, but man, there's been a TON of swings that never connected.
  5. I still think my guy McCall will end up around QB7 by draft day.
  6. Why, because he 6'6"? His TD to INT is pretty bad. If he's struggling to hit 2:1 in college, what makes you thik he's going to improve upon that in the NFL? He's not overly athletic and the ball doesn't jump out of his hand. Perfect example of why NOT to draft a QB just because he's sitting on the draft board and it's a need.
  7. The middle of this QB draft class pack will shuffle greatly in the coming 3 months.
  8. Just saying weirder things have happened. Also, drafting a QB just for the sake of drafting one seldomly works out. If the available guy(s) at the correct value are not the player the new staff wants, then they won't pull the trigger. If we miss out on Stroud and Levis, I'm not sure the team goes all in on Young or Hooker.
  9. If we land outside of the top 10, it may not be a 100% given QB is the pick.
  10. That would be so freaking hilarious 6-11 and division winners!!!! The NFL would immediately ditch division winner model and take the 7 best records in each conference. It would be known as the Panther effect.
  11. Crazy, but another win or two and we are squarely in Levis territory. The Saints might be tanking better than us for Stroud/Young.
  12. I still stand by Hubbard sucking. On the TD run, Ickey perfectly walled off the end of the line and the LB got caught cheating up for an inside run and ruined his angle. If someone can screenshot it, that entire side of the field was wide open and Hubbard only had break a diving arm tackle by said LB with a bad angle.
  13. Why is it Jackson is always hurt after giving up a big play?
  14. Can we trade Hubbard for a 7th in 2027? Dude runs with no vision and timidness.
  15. Jut hopeful and it could happen (Philly) but yeah, likely split between the 2023 and 2024 draft. If it did happen, though?!?! I take a 3 day vacation for the draft and throw a party!
  16. But if we deal Burns we can get TWO (at minimum) players on rookie deals. I like Burns, but he's no Reggie White. He's a good pass rusher, but I wouldn't put him in the elite category. If Burns was elite, then not even two players could replace him. I understand the cap guru's play with the numbers to find a way to keep guys on the roster even when the cap is tight and for the long term. Simply put if the best and final offer for Burns Fitts received was only a first and nothing else, I wouldn't be arguing this point. Burns would stay. It would be swapping a former first for a current first without the experience. Nabbing TWO impact players (at minimum) and only losing one just makes too much sense.
  17. Either Spotrac or OTC, but our offensive offense is costing us $81.7 million currently
  18. A new deal for Burns would be a cap burden for years to come. This is just making more and more sense to me. We already seen the reports that a team (probably Philly) was willing to deal the two firsts. Two things we desperately need going into next year is cap room and to stockpile draft picks. Dealing Burns provides both of those in not a little, but in a MAJOR way.
  19. Also, Burn is in line for a HUGE payday and by trading him we free up MUCH needed cap room for next year. The more I think about this, the more it needs to happen.
  20. Man, I hope Fitts is holding on for the pot to sweeten a bit. If we can land two first and like a third? At that point Burns would have to go. We'd have THREE firsts, TWO seconds, TWO thirds. That's SEVEN picks in the first 3 rounds. It would almost be stupid not to ship Burns at that point.
  21. I'd take the RB with the 3rd rounder. Gotta get QB, TE and MLB with those first three picks. I'm just now starting to look at them, but the kid out of Illinois, Chase Brown, looks like a CMC clone. Haven't seen enough film of him yet to judge his hands in the passing game, but the same size, same shiftiness and same downhill burst in what clips I've seen.
