I've mocked Rice a ton in simulations. The more simulations I run, the more I convince myself if we double dip at a position this year, it's WR. We need a slot (Shi Smith ain't it) and another boundary WR (TMJ ain't it). No matter who is behind center next fall, he needs weapons and we are in are in short supply.

Joe Person on possible coordinator candidates
45catfan replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That man owes Joe Burrow his firs born child. Dude has been a complete shell since that LSU championship run. -
Flowers with #40 and A.T. Perry or Xavier Hutchinson # 94. Has to happen. Get our slot and boundary WRs in the same draft. Sorry, Shi Smith and TMJ aren't cutting it.

We have to double dip at WR. Would I like to double dip at LB, DL of DBs? Heck yeah, but with a offensive HC...FINALLY, we've got to go get weapons.

Frank Reich's Intro Presser - Today, Noon EST
45catfan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know there was a narrative on this board about retread HCs versus the young bucks...everyone wanted a young buck. I just kept looking at the job Pederson was doing with that train wreck down in Jacksonville and thinking could one of these young bucks pulled that 180 that Doug Pederson was doing down there? Reich and Pederson are cut from the same cloth and why after he was (stupidly) let go by Irsay in Indy, I wanted Reich here in Carolina. -
He's chill'n because he has not been officially terminated yet to my knowledge. McAdoo will get his walking papers when his replacement is found.
-
No, Wilks was an interim HC. It has to be HC or GM to get the comp pick. Coordinators and staffers don't count.

Let me dream for a minute, please. Someone need to tell Luke, while not shabby in the radio booth, that's not his calling. Olsen, on the other hand, is a natural.
-
I mean, is he wrong? Sometimes stupid need to be called out. Granted Butker still could have made a reeeeallly long attempt, but that 15 extra yards sure helped. Would have been, what 56 yards in single digit temperatures?
-
That sucks for him; complete tear of his UCL. Delhomme was never the same after his Tommy John surgery.
-
I hope all people land on their feet. In this case, it will be elsewhere. Good luck to him.

Wait, next you are going to tell me McApoo is getting kicked to the curb too...

Campen and Tabor being retained reaction!
-
I bet there's a guy in the Panthers radio booth that's a better LB coach than Holcomb.
-
OC and DC, then back fill the assistants as the time/person seems right. I'm glad Campen and Tabor are still in the fold. OL coach and STs coach are two that are sorely undervalued.
-
Batted balls are not a concern? Height, weight and frame are all concerns. Like I said earlier, if Young and AR-15 could magically switch bodies, I'd be all in on trading up for Young.
-
Retiring a Texan would make since.
-
There's been speculation the Young is more around 5'10" and 180 than 6'0" and 200.
-
I'm hoping we lock him in a deal before he gets too many other offers. If Tabor gets snagged, that would be a loss, but losing Campen would REALLY suck.

Fangio to Miami official....well...maybe... probably tho
45catfan replied to jb2288's topic in Carolina Panthers
As of around noon it was reported that an agreement had been reach in principle, but a contract HAD NOT been signed yet, leaving speculation that Fangio was still able to be had if he could be swayed. (See more $$$$$$). Unless you have seen a report in the past couple of hours that a deal had been finalized, but it is unlikely that Tepper can buy Fangio out of taking the Dolphins job, but the rumors are still out there because it's now known Vic was our #1 choice for DC. -
As you said, hits add up and logic says the smaller the frame, the fewer hits the person can take before wearing down. It's why in boxing feather weights don't box heavy weights. Even Cam Newton eventually broke down. I'd rather roll with a FA QB on a 2-3 year deal, surround him with weapons and take a QB next draft. I wouldn't mind a flyer pick with a QB with that round 5 pick (or later if we accumulate some later picks in a trade.) We have too have too many holes and lacking the bevy of picks to move up this draft.
-
He'll get an invite to some team's camp. I still think he goes undrafted. A 7th round flyer at best, but unlikely.

I honestly think he's just sitting back and letting his agent pad his retirement. If Tepper counter offers the Dolphins counter offer to us, then they will likely counter again and Fangio didn't have to lift a finger while getting that much richer. -
The whole SEC thing gates me. Granted Bama didn't win the SEC this year, but a close second. Bama still has one of the best (top 3) rosters in all of college football. Yes, even in the SEC, Bama still towers over most the the League Young will have to deal with defenses that just as good as LSU and Georgia every week, and won't see a Vandy and SC drop off in talent throughout the season. Again, his small stature scares me and I don't think he'll last long in the League. Kyler Murray is bigger and dude stays hurt.
