  1. Again, a one-year wonder. You have to look at the body of work. Historically, he had a low QBR, high picks, low-ish TDs, and low completion percentage. The very reason I was against Pickett last year. Dude put up monster numbers, but it was out of nowhere. The only dude I can remember being a flash-in-the-pan QB in college that turned out to be a successful pro recently was Joe Burrow.
  2. Doesn't have to be elite, he just has to be really good. He can be. I mean, I can run down a laundry list of highly successful QBs that didn't have elite skill sets, especially coming out of college. I could equally do a laundry list of guys that had traits that fans drooled over that were busts.
  3. NEXT draft he could be a day 1 pick if he lands in the right situation. He wasn't a day 1 pick this draft, I agree. I think he could have topped out as a day 2 pick if he had gone through with the All Star games, Pro Days and the Combine.
  4. McCall doesn't lose you games. He a solid player and can step up when needed. I'm not sure what else you could be looking for other a big arm. Dude lost all his key receivers form last year and the CCU defense was pure garbage. It's cool, he's just not flashy enough for your taste. Anyway, I haven't looked, but is the other Hooker? His stats were somewhere in that ballpark If so, I would have taken a flyer on him prior to the ACL injury. Yes, stats do tell a lot, to replicate them consistently over time is proof of the product. The very reason I'm skeptical of one-year wonders.
  5. Do you think as this draft for QBs is slowly drying up AR-15 will has to round 2? Overall solid.
  6. The hate is strong dude. What gives? Pot shots and no facts come off shallow and uniformed. Before Leary got hurt, he was AT LEAST a third rounder and I saw Devin as high as QB7 on respected drafts sites. McCall and Leary are atop the portal QB board. I remember a certain college QB that I found intriguing, he chose to transfer and people crapped all over him because he wasn't going to be a first rounder. People tried their best to poke holes in his game. Now he's the hottest QB in the NFL.
  7. Correct, but unless he has a horrible season in 2023 (which is highly doubtful) he's a Day 1 or Day 2 QB in the next draft. At that point, if we are still looking for a QB, it wouldn't be a "flyer" pick in the least.
  8. McCall is the top ranked QB in the portal, so I guess he doesn't suck too bad. My guess is he's being sought out by about every QB needy school in the nation. Dude has options galore to the point of being picky.
  9. Right there was a solid 3rd round that suddenly went poof!
  10. McCall will go to a Power 5 school that is middling-to-good. Used to, guys would take a step back from a FBS program if they weren't starting, go JuCo for a year and pop back up at another school. With the transfer portal now, that route is old. Cam took that route. If McCall goes to Auburn, some of those fans still lingering around here may get excited again. Dude has talent, he just needs the exposure. Coastal was too new of a program and too small of a school for him to get noticed.
  11. Tons, but not going to take pics of it all.
  12. Both. I can see him pulling a Russell Wilson and going to a competitive program lacking a QB for a year, putting that team in serious contention and cementing his stock. He's got to stay healthy though. Missing just a few games this year hurt his stock some. Yeah, the NIL money should be good too.
  13. Oh well, McCall entered the transfer portal. I guess he's going to try to go to a bigger school that runs a more traditional/pro style offense to boost his draft stock. This QB class keeps getting thinner and thinner.
  14. Cliff? No, but a step down and flush with positions we are actually good/okay at--OT, CB, S. QBs, WRs and Mayer would be the target here. WRs Quentin Johnston and Jordan Addison along with QBs Levis and Richardson. Some mocks have Stroud sliding if AR-15 and/or Levis get picked beforehand.
  15. This is a depth draft. The more I research I do, the more heavily weighted I feel it is with "4-star" guys than "5-star". The number of "can't miss" prospects are thinner this year, IMO. That's the reason I'm not too worried about sitting around pick 10 (as long as we don't slide past 15).
  16. Or a crystal ball that actually works!
  17. An effective OC is even more important than a QB to be honest. That said, even the best QBs can't work with subpar WRs and TEs. Our TE room is B-A-D, BAD. Yes, they can block, but so can bringing in additional o-linemen like we've been doing with Ervin and Mays. The WRs room is average, so yes, we can upgrade there as well. We have 4 top 100 picks, 7 by pick 150, so it's not like we have to sacrifice one position for another. A solid draft will fill most of the holes on the roster.
  18. So a promotion within the same organization to HC does not qualify. I wasn't sure, but I doubt teams would promote minority assistants to HC just to swindle an extra 3rd rounder. That would be silly. It should count. That said, If Wilks doesn't land the job here and catches on elsewhere as a HC, then we definitely qualify for the extra pick.
  19. Tier 1 priorities--totally agree (more specifically ILB) and I'd even say WR. Tier 2 priorities- DE, S, RB, C, DT, OLB. Tier 3 (positions that could be skipped)--OG, OT, CB
  20. Since Wilks is a minority coach to a get a HC spot (if that actually occurs) even though it is our own team, will we qualify for the additional draft pick? If the promotion to HC wasn't to a different team, does that disqualify the pick? I say there's some gray area there.
